So delightful so sweet bravo no notes
Eeeeeh so cuuuuute!! They did such a good job at adapting the manga to live action!Acting: They brought the characters to life in every way possible. I couldn’t imagine it any other way it was so well cast and acted. Aoiki’s over-the-top manga expressions were well executed without feeling stupid in a bad way. Ida’s stoicism and subtle changes in facial expression were on point. Hashimoto was just as adorable and precious as the manga. And Akkun was just as infuriating while also being endearing enough to get away with most of his antics. So well performed, very happy to see!
Writing:
Stayed true to the original source and was smooth from beginning to end. Overall great writing.
Chemistry/Romance/Adolescent Troubles:
The chemistry was good, and while it isn’t a romance-heavy story, the romantic feelings are portrayed well in the story and the acting. Gotta highlight the portrayal of adolescent troubles experienced by everyone and obviously more specifically queer youth. The story and actors did a good job of portraying a lot of issues faced by queer youth, including dipping into the more serious issues while maintaining a realistic yet lighthearted atmosphere.
Music/SFX:
Usually I notice at least a couple of songs that take me out of the story, but unless I’m being unnecessarily nitpicky, I really can’t think of anything. Maybe the one that is repeated throughout with lyrics? Not my favorite part of dramas but unlike most dramas, it fit pretty well.
Just so happy to see this story brought to life so well. Truly a delight!!

The cutest cliché
Are you looking for something that would cause you some diabetes? This BL is perfect for you then!!!!Aoki is the cutest person ever, he’s the most babyboy ever. Hashimoto is also the cutest babygirl ever and WHAT A GIRL POWER WE HAVE WITH HER.
Both main and support couples are the absolutely cutest. The way the main couple slowly falls in love, how Ida realizes how much he loves Aoki, it’s everything. Both their friends are so supportive and that’s beautiful honestly. Such a cute and funny story. This BL is literally going to make your heart feel warm.
It’s definitely a must to watch and it’s so healthy, bc everything about this whole show screams HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP AND HEALTHY FRIENDSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Their acting was everthing, and they really did an amazing job showing their emotions. Supportive friends and classmates.
The soundtrack/ost, omg it makes the whole thing even better.

Lighthearted and cute
This was a really cute and fluffy drama and my first foray into japanese foray. I think it did a really good job portraying the innocent love in highschool and the confusion and even struggles that comes when acknowledging one's sexual preferences. But if you are looking for a deep plot, this won't be it. Shunsuke did really well in acting as an unconfident person who is struggling with his sexual preferences and I also love his chemistry with Meguro Ren. The acting wasn't particularly very difficult to do, that's why I ranked it slightly lower. But Meguro really does know how to charm his audiences. I think it's really a good rewatch if you are feeling down as the innocent love between the MLs will make you giggle and squeal in excitement. The OST was quite good, much better than some of the other JDramas. Was this review helpful to you?

There will be Thai adaptation of this drama, with one of the cutest couple of Thai BL. So since I want to comapre both of them, I decided to watch this first. And yes after watching this, I can imagine Fourth & Gemini as the chosen one. Haha...But first thing first. Let's talk about this drama...
A story about the introvert Ida Kousuke & outgoing Aoki Sota. One day Aoki borrow eraser from his friend, Hashimoto Mio, that turn out on the eraser there's Ida's name & Ida saw it & the whole misunderstanding began...
At first Aoki like Mio and he heart broken cause Mio like Ida. Ida, who turn out to be a VERY SERIOUS person, think about Aoki's confession very seriously & also about his own feeling for Aoki. And upon time, cause this still romance drama, of course Aoki feeling toward Ida slowly change. And finally they become a couple.
And Aoki & Ida journey as a couple not really easy-going & happy-go-lucky all the time. It fill with a few prejudice & silly misunderstanding.
Ok that's about the story. Now what I like and don't like...
What I like:
+ The cute Aoki & 'stupid' Ida. Owh they the magic couple that we never imagine could click, but somehow work.
+ The cute and adorable 2nd couple. Just like jpny01, I also more like Aida Hayato and Hashimoto Mio story. Their story progression is really cute & adorable.
+ The very supportive friends, like Aida & Mio, also Mio club friends & Ida volleyball club friends that never judge Ida & Aoki.
+ They bring out a little bit about teacher prejudice. Like when the teacher just assume the worst when he see Aoki outside the hotel with a man.
What i don't like:
- Yeah like jpny01, I also start getting bored by the repetitive problem of Ida & Aoki. Really wonder how the Thai version gonna steer the plot....
- The coward Aoki. Until the end not so much change in Aoki's character. He still that coward boy. Although he said he didn't want anyone to know about his & Ida's relationship cause he afraid it effect Ida's team mate attitude toward Ida. But in my eyes it just Aoki cowardness, that make him afraid to face and acknowledge Ida as his boyfriend to the world.
Overall this one cute fluffy youth drama....

Extremely Cute BL Drama
I wasn't familiar with any of the actors in this or the story when I stumbled across it to watch. I'm definitely glad I found it. This turned out to be such a cute and extremely adorable BL drama. It has all the purity of first love, first date, first crush, whatever you want to call it. It's just pure innocence between high school kids trying to sort out their feelings.I think the way the writers brought the two of these characters together was extremely clever. The story line really worked and it made for a really feel good series to watch.
Watching them deal with the substitute teacher that was a bit prejudice toward their relationship, was kind of interesting. It blended well into the story.
The last episode was very satisfying, especially going full circle and ending it exactly as it started in episode 1.
Great stuff.

100% fluff, 1000% recommend for all ages
Simple storyline that shows the dynamics of first love in a high school setting. Simply fabulous cast, acting and the OST sung by the lead boys. I am a tired & jaded middle-aged women who's watched a lot of romances set in high-school and Uni world, but this one was very refreshing and has the JBL charm that is so unique and different from others like Thai or Taiwanese. 100% recommend this show for fluff and wholesomeness. If you need fluff & wholesomeness with a good message, then recommend another JBL, Fukou-kun wa Kiss Suru Shikanai. Was this review helpful to you?

Storyline.
I absolutely love japanese BLs. I haven't watched one yet that was bad. Japanese actors are extremely professional in their acting. They are really good at portraying every emotion verbally.. through facial expressions and body language. I fell in love with these two main actors.. Aoki with his mop of hair and big eyesand Ida the more reserved quiet student. Aoki was the more excitable and paranoid about his feelings for Ida
as he started off trying to get together with Hashimoto a girl but developed feelings for Ida who is a male student and it all started with an eraser. I will watch it again. The storyline was great so a big thanks to the scripwriters.. Directors.. Production staff everyone behind the scenes and all the excellent actors who took part in this little gem of a series..

A really sweet series
This series is so cute. It starts off from a misunderstanding over a silly legend about love. I love the chemistry between the 4 main characters and their ever growing friendship. Aoki originally has a secret crush on Hashimoto which ends very comedically due to the name written on her eraser. Which sets off their friendship full throttle in which they both not only support each other as friends but support each other in their endeavors for love. Eventually, leading Hashimoto to have one of the best friendships supporting moments where she slaps Aoki’s best friend Aida for not only belittling his friend’s feelings but also temporarily messing up his friend’s potential relationship. Realizing his mistake after the monumental slap Aida apologizes and gives Aoki a shove to follow his heart and show no matter what he is still his friend and will be there no matter who Aoki likes. Although, Ida is a bit dense to understanding what it means to have a crush and like someone and fall in love his friends on the volleyball team help guide him to better understand his feelings and give him a push to admit his feelings to not just himself but Aoki. The series ends with a happy ending and really makes you want another season. Was this review helpful to you?
a heartwarming series!
First off: THIS WAS SO CUTE!!!The cast, the story, the acting was all just so marvelous!
I thought I didn't like overacting, but michida was just the perfect blend of goofiness and cuteness. And what about Ren? He was also the perfect fit for his character!!!
The chemistry between all of the characters was so great and natural, it really felt like a bunch of best friends! I also think that this is such a good BL for beginners and veterans alike because it is just SO well made!!!
This is one of those BLs that keeps you coming back for more!
The story and the main point of conflict is also very original and refreshing and although it's another highschool romance it didn't feel cringe to me which I often find that highschool romances have because the writing doesn't feel authentic. Kieta hatsukoi's writing feels VERY authentic!!!
This series is also so rewatchable because of the comedy and charming characters.
I only wish we'd gotten more screentime with Ida's dog mamatero <3
Anyways, GO WATCH THIS!!!!!!!!

現れた初恋:消えた初恋 (My First Love Appeared: A Review of Kieta Hatsukoi)
This show is my comfort food: sweet, satisfying, and utterly binge-worthy.For starters, it's amusing, charming and entertaining—which, to be honest, is hard to come by in my experience. This genre often leans into heavy topics (at least GL does, my god 💀), which can be compelling when done right. But once in a while, just let us breathe and have something light and fun to watch without having to do all that emotional work... Not to get too off topic, but can gay characters just simply exist without their storylines being drenched in trauma for ‘depth'?
Coming back to the show (oops), I also love how the show depicts its characters in a non-stereotypical way. For once, there are female characters that aren't relentlessly sexualised, just allowed to exist. They don't show plot-driven romantic interest in every male character in the world (it's fine if someone's like that in real life, just not if they're a character written like that as a stereotypical view of women).
Hashimoto sees Aoki as a friend and he accepts that—neat-o, mate. And they become good friends! Bashing the stereotype that girls and boys can't be friends without getting all lovey dovey. Yay! No normalising the opposite sex being unapproachable and only an opportunity for romance!
Additionally, female characters are not written as stupid or weak—a pathetic, unrealistic and harmful stereotype that was unfortunately perpetuated in the Thai remake without really getting resolved (Mudmee's friends encourage her to act weak to get Half to like her)—if a partner likes you for being weak and dependent on them, get the hell out of there.
Everyone in the show is considerate and there are no unnecessarily creepy comments for "humour", like some pieces. Of course, this show has its unsavoury moments—the tutor weirdly interested in Aoki's love life, Matsuuchi having a crush on the teacher—but generally, it's such a charming and unproblematic show.
In the end, I have so many thoughts about this show and the themes and topics surrounding its genre and those alike, but verbalising them is probably more complicated than a random review calls for.
This is just a review and my opinion—sorry that the tone was all over the place, but I wrote this over a few days and like, in the early morning (it's 6:31am right now), because it's school holidays so my sleep schedule is all out of wack! None of that is relevant, so I'll just shush.
Anyway, if this was read to completion, thank you. Hope it didn't bore you to tears. I love this show and I'm a yapper. Deadly mix. Well, toodles!
