Perfectly Captured the Fluttering Feeling of First Love
We first have to thank Hashimoto for lending Aoki that eraser, the legendary eraser that started it all. While Aoki is the kindest soul, Ida must have been a saint in a past life; there isn't an ounce of malice in that man. I love that he didn't just reject Aoki’s "confession" right away; he sincerely considered his feelings before responding. The only thing I find hard to believe is that this was Ida's first time being confessed to. Seriously? With a face like that (Meguro Ren is a total hottie!), I would’ve been first in line!
Akkun initially infuriated me when he meddled and forced Aoki to the rooftop to come clean. He definitely deserved the slap Hashimoto gave him! However, his heart was in the right place, and he eventually made up for his mistake by being a true friend.
Aoki’s journey was a roller coaster ride of feelings, from the depression of realizing he had fallen for Ida for real, to the heartbreak of thinking he had lost him after coming clean. That scene where he sadly stares at Ida from a distance absolutely broke my heart.
The camping trip was such a fun episode. I loved seeing Hashimoto and Aoki’s bond, and even Ida and Akkun managed to bond for once.
My favorite moment has to be after the pretty manager left. Aoki was dribbling the ball while Ida watched from above. Seeing Ida finally become honest with his feelings while Aoki was already "in too deep" was beautiful to watch.
Credit where credit is due, Ida’s friend, Toyoda, is the real hero of this series. I love how he helped a clueless, "stupid-when-it-comes-to-love" Ida realize his feelings and gave him the push he needed to run to Aoki.
My Love Mix-Up! perfectly captured the butterflies of falling in love for the first time. It beautifully illustrated that you can’t choose who you love and that honest feelings always deserve to be heard.
This show is definitely my top comfort watch! Michieda Shunsuke perfectly captured Aoki’s chaotic energy, and Meguro Ren played Ida’s stoic-but-sincere nature so well.
The OST really is the cherry on top, having both Snow Man’s "Secret Touch" and Naniwa Danshi’s "Ubu LOVE" play at the end of different episodes made the vibes even more magical.

a heartwarming series!
First off: THIS WAS SO CUTE!!!The cast, the story, the acting was all just so marvelous!
I thought I didn't like overacting, but michida was just the perfect blend of goofiness and cuteness. And what about Ren? He was also the perfect fit for his character!!!
The chemistry between all of the characters was so great and natural, it really felt like a bunch of best friends! I also think that this is such a good BL for beginners and veterans alike because it is just SO well made!!!
This is one of those BLs that keeps you coming back for more!
The story and the main point of conflict is also very original and refreshing and although it's another highschool romance it didn't feel cringe to me which I often find that highschool romances have because the writing doesn't feel authentic. Kieta hatsukoi's writing feels VERY authentic!!!
This series is also so rewatchable because of the comedy and charming characters.
I only wish we'd gotten more screentime with Ida's dog mamatero <3
Anyways, GO WATCH THIS!!!!!!!!

現れた初恋:消えた初恋 (My First Love Appeared: A Review of Kieta Hatsukoi)
This show is my comfort food: sweet, satisfying, and utterly binge-worthy.For starters, it's amusing, charming and entertaining—which, to be honest, is hard to come by in my experience. This genre often leans into heavy topics (at least GL does, my god 💀), which can be compelling when done right. But once in a while, just let us breathe and have something light and fun to watch without having to do all that emotional work... Not to get too off topic, but can gay characters just simply exist without their storylines being drenched in trauma for ‘depth'?
Coming back to the show (oops), I also love how the show depicts its characters in a non-stereotypical way. For once, there are female characters that aren't relentlessly sexualised, just allowed to exist. They don't show plot-driven romantic interest in every male character in the world (it's fine if someone's like that in real life, just not if they're a character written like that as a stereotypical view of women).
Hashimoto sees Aoki as a friend and he accepts that—neat-o, mate. And they become good friends! Bashing the stereotype that girls and boys can't be friends without getting all lovey dovey. Yay! No normalising the opposite sex being unapproachable and only an opportunity for romance!
Additionally, female characters are not written as stupid or weak—a pathetic, unrealistic and harmful stereotype that was unfortunately perpetuated in the Thai remake without really getting resolved (Mudmee's friends encourage her to act weak to get Half to like her)—if a partner likes you for being weak and dependent on them, get the hell out of there.
Everyone in the show is considerate and there are no unnecessarily creepy comments for "humour", like some pieces. Of course, this show has its unsavoury moments—the tutor weirdly interested in Aoki's love life, Matsuuchi having a crush on the teacher—but generally, it's such a charming and unproblematic show.
In the end, I have so many thoughts about this show and the themes and topics surrounding its genre and those alike, but verbalising them is probably more complicated than a random review calls for.
This is just a review and my opinion—sorry that the tone was all over the place, but I wrote this over a few days and like, in the early morning (it's 6:31am right now), because it's school holidays so my sleep schedule is all out of wack! None of that is relevant, so I'll just shush.
Anyway, if this was read to completion, thank you. Hope it didn't bore you to tears. I love this show and I'm a yapper. Deadly mix. Well, toodles!

Can calm your heart if u are anxious
1)Actors are pretty handsome and cute; acting on spot by both and even the other crew2) bond between friends shown is superb,
Their friend circle is so funny and cute.
3)care for the people do not change u once liked even if u don't like them in that sense now, it's just a healthy relationship that got formed
4) a wonderful matching quality between the leads that they are themselves unaware of - kindness
5) story is intriguing: both unknowingly depicting the picturesque of the wonderful quote"love is to give rather than to receive"
6) shows how it is really difficult to recognise what is it that feeling they have towards the other
Overall it such a relatable story with wholesome and mature concepts covered with a fluffy and cute acting.
And music font ask once u listen ,u will be addicted.
And sure u are gonna be addicted to the leads as well.
Coz I'm now busy searching their videos on utube and it is gonna continue for days:-))

HEALTHY AF
I watched this masterpiece in one day. It was really cute and full of fluff and I can confidently say that it is one of my favourite jbls.Although there was use of the miscommunication trope I really love how they cleared up things between them after the issue had been brought up. I love love love communication and that is what makes their relationship so healthy. This is a perfect example of a good use of the miscommunication trope.
Moreover, there was no kissing scene which didn't have any negative impact on the show. I love how the writers made this bl in such a way that the feelings of the characters get through to the audience without bombing them with kissing scenes. That a thing I really enjoy in Japanese mad Korean bls, that every little touch has a meaning and that there is less focus on physical touch and more thought given to the connection between the characters.
Furthermore, the friendship between Aoki and Hashimoto was superior. The two of them really brought out the best in each other and helped one another get through some tough times. The side couple was really cute too.
To finish this, I really enjoyed the feeling and the vibe of the whole series. You feel like you're watching an anime. Especially with Aoki. He moves in such ways and his reactions where priceless and he ended up really resembling those chibi faces that they have in 'extreme' situations.
Overall, it was really amazing and I totally recommen watching it.
Waiting for a second season too! (it was too short😭😭😭)

Old school but cute
Maybe I'm spoiled by a lot of BL lately, but I noticed this played out like an older manga (I know it's based on one). It felt a little dated, I mean. That being said, it was cute. Aoki's actor is amazing at looking and acting like he stepped right out of an anime - wild facial expressions, jolting movements, overreactions, and it's all very amusing. Ida's character was pretty bland in comparison, but the times where he smiled were very sweet.I enjoyed the world of the show and the characters, but it did leave me a little unfulfilled. It's a little too vanilla.

Rewatching My Love Mix-Up! helped solidify its position in my personal ranking of Japanese BLs
This may serve as a belated entry into the conversation, but a recent rewatch of My Love Mix-Up! (Kieta Hatsukoi) was essential for me to finalize my "Top Japanese BLs" list. If there is one takeaway from this series, it is that a rocky first episode should never be a reason to write a series offStory
I’ll be honest… I’m generally not a fan of miscommunication-driven romances, but this might be the only BL where I actually accept it because it’s handled with so much charm. Aside from that, it’s more than a fluffy show that everyone perceives, because the show also subtly tackles some serious themes
First, the sexuality. While Aoki is canonically (or probably) bisexual, I have a strong headcanon that Ida is demisexual. This framing perfectly explains his slower pace and the time he required to internalize his feelings for Aoki
Episode 8 deserves special mention for how it addresses homophobia, particularly that familiar and ugly assumption held by homophobic men that they are automatically a “catch” or inherently attractive. Aoki’s line about liking Ida specifically, and not “all men in general” was such a bold move
Acting/Cast
I’ll admit, the anime-style acting in the first episode was a bit much for me at first. However, Micchi (Michieda Shunsuke) grew on me so fast but he and Meme (Meguro Ren) are still growing as actors and could’ve used a bit more range in the heavy scenes. Well... their chemistry is off the charts, and that’s what keeps you hooked. As someone who has read the manga, I can confidently say the casting was spot-on. Even on a purely visual level, the actors perfectly capture the appearance and overall presence of their manga counterparts
Music
Hands down, one of the best OSTs in Japanese BL history, imo. Both Ubu LOVE and Secret Touch are absolute bops that fit the vibe of the show perfectly
Rewatch Value
10/10. This is one of the most rewatchable Japanese BLs of all time. Whenever you need something easy to watch, this is the one to go to. This is my go-to show whenever I’m having a bad day and need a “shot of serotonin” It’s easy to watch, sweet as sugar, and despite a few tiny plot holes, the execution is just wonderful

CUTENESS OVERLOAD ?✨
There's something special about kieta hatsukoi. Hands down probably best series of 2021. I know Japanese bls are gems but this series had my heart on beating. whenever I watch this series, I feel butterflies in my stomach, I know it's a fictional story but still, Feels so fresh n chill. Omg mametaro is adorable. We all need Ida's friends irl. Ida×Aoki forever. Aida n Haashimato were cuties. ❤✨🧚♂️ overall 10/10....i really like the ost (secret touch)... Ida is damn hot, i envy aoki🤣. Haashi was definitely an ally she was one who was rooting for aoki from the start. Was this review helpful to you?

It's a fluffy and cute bl drama that will make your heart flutter
oh myyyyy tbh i didn't had my hopes up for this drama coz when i read a manga and was adopted into a series like this one, i don't expect that much. but heeeeeeey it did really exceeded my expectations and the adaptation was a *chef kiss* they really did gave a justice on this manga and thankfully didn't ruined it. the actors were really suitable for their respective roles, tho on Aida's character, it still lacks something on his acting, but it's fine still. on Ida's character as well, I don't really feel his love towards aoki so his acting is pretty mediocre. The one that really stood out for me is Aoki. he did his role perfectly. his looks and acting were suitable. Was this review helpful to you?
in one month, I've watched this drama twice
guess the title says it all !it was my first BL, and now, I don't know many I've watched/read till now !
the actors are really good, and the story is quite nice and original and it was a faithful adaptation of the manga.
it was a great representation of how pure love can grow between two people, and bring them together, regardless of what might come between them
I really liked Ren meguro, he played Ida so skillfully and naturally, and I hope to see him in more dramas in the future !
