To Sir, with Love

With the trailer being recently released, it reminded me a lot of one of my favorite dramas, Killer and Healer (2021)
- Period piece (K&H takes place in Chinese Republican era)
- Both take place in China
- Similar relationship dynamic, one of them gets hurt while the other is the one who heals them and provides them solace
As of now, i know nothing about this drama and won't be tuning in BUT do know that Killer and Healer is censored gay romance as it is from China!

Mo Seok Hee, the heiress to the MC Group empire, is haunted by her mother's mysterious death. After years abroad, she returns to South Korea, where her life and the fate of the MC Group take unexpected turns. She crosses paths with Heo Yoon Do, a humble lawyer working for the MC Group's crisis management team. Together, they forge an unlikely friendship and set out to uncover the truth about her mother's death. Can they unveil the dark secrets of the past and perhaps find romance along the way?

It’s a BL lakorn same as To Sir, With Love. Both deal have subjects of homophobia and suicide because of it.

Both are historical Thai dramas happening in similar time-periods with I Feel You Linger in the Air happening in the 1920s, whereas Khun Chai is happening in the 1940s.

- both are prime-time soap operatic/lakorn style series airing on one31
- both are period series
- both main leads are from thai-chinese family
- both leads are engaged to another female character but don't love them and fall in love with a male character
- both male leads use very gentleman-like language because they have period/royalty settings
- common tropes like forbidden love, gun use violence, power struggle, controlling and disapproving parents, attempted murder of the leads
- both series features the fabulous khun ying rhatha

Although "To Sir, with Love" was a lakorn and "laws of Attraction" is a BL series, Jam and Film are the lead couple in both productions, and they were a gay couple in the lakorn, too, and as their chemistry in "Sir" was great, we can expect the same for "Laws" - that's what I hope at least.

Even though To Sir, With Love (Khun Chai) is in the style of a traditional lakorn (in lieu of a modern BL series), both shows are set in the past with Memoire of Rati being set in the late 1910s, while Khun Chai is set in the 1940s. Though only the trailer has been released for Memoire of Rati, it is very clear there will be an attempt at an arranged marriage, struggles of the acceptance of homosexuality, and a deep wholesome love. These are qualities shared by both shows. Furthermore, they also share similar clothing with European influence is both, although Memoire of Rati is much more Thai in influence, while Khun Chai has heavy Chinese influence. Overall, if you are looking forward to watch this drama, I would highly recommend Khun Chai.

With an authentic atmosphere of Chinese-Thai culture along with the conflict build up around LGBTQ+ community, I Told Sunset About You will never disappoint anyone that likes Khun Chai.

I Told Sunset About You is also praised as a masterpiece in storyteller, actings, plot, cinematography. It's also one of the best BLs you could ever come across.

- both have a bl subplot that involves the main character

Zhang Jing Yi is the FL in both. The chemistry is natural. The relationship had depth. However, BEITD does not have a satisfactory ending.
