Almost Perfect

I love a badass female lead--and a well-executed trope! A bit over the top? Completely ridiculous? Likeable characters? Count me in!

There is a lot to like here, and I rarely felt bored with slow scenes (the 10 episode format helps)... Alternatively, the pacing was a bit quick and I would have loved a couple extra episodes to see them flesh out their relationship better. However, I do love some level-headed romance, fun characters, and humour, so this has earned a top spot for me.

However, I am holding off watching the last episode and a half, because I don't want a lackluster ending to change my opinion of the show! Currently sitting at 9.5 out of 10 eps.

The chemistry between the characters was on point--which is something lacking between a lot of shows that seem to choose leads for their star power rather than their chemistry together.

My only critique plot-wise is that it's a little too perfectly symmetric and symbolic with the leads, their issues, their closure with their ex's... And the ending was a little cliche--I hate a forced cliche. I would LOVE to see a drama where the it doesn't follow the established formula, and I admit I was a little disappointed to find out the main leads weren't gay.

Can we have some romcoms where it's not so formulaic where the ML and FL will hook up, and SML and SFL are forced together, and something happens and they break up, kiss, make up/or make peace and split? Anyway, that's not a critique of this specific show, but of dramas in general.

Speaking of which, the second female lead is a bit too immature and annoying to take seriously. The male leads are great, and overall it feels like a good contrast to many romcoms out there...

female lead carried

What stood out for me was the female protagonist. I'm enjoying this new trend of female characters being more independent and goal-oriented. Also, kim ok bin did the series justice with her acting. That's what I would like to call perfect casting. I finished it for her character only. To all the haters out there, not every character needs redemption or development. If she was a man, you all would thirst over him.

I choose to be a villain and say that the plot-wise this drama isn't something extraordinary. Honestly, I was prepared for the worst outcome since the same screenwriter wrote my id is gangam beauty. Nevertheless, the comedy aspect of the series is surprisingly well done

I wanted me ?

Why would they just release 10
episodes? Godness this show was literally making me feel certain things 😫 the last time i felt this wat was when i saw “Scandal” Kerry Washington series nonetheless this series is way too matured and has one of the greatest plot ever and i hope we can get another season. The world needs to see more of Teo Yoo, dude is such a brilliant actor and the way he expresses himself is too graceful.. Love to hate U is highly recommended 😁😁 I wish it had 16 episodes but I’m praying for season 2 🥹

Soooo Freaking GOOD!!!

I Devoured this series in one sitting! I just couldn't get enough, I was up till 6am finishing it! Love to hate you was just sooo good! It's a short series with only 10 episodes. The cast is new to me except the secondary couple. The Cast makes you instantly fall in Love with them! This was a refreshing feel good drama, full of cute and quirky with lots of laughs and many swoon worthy, squealing moments! It's been hard to find something as good and addictive as Business Proposal and I have to say Netflix really hit the nail on the head with this one! Also I feel like the vibe was the perfect blend of mature yet still fresh. A more settled atmosphere, with the male leads being 40 in this drama and our female leads being independent and strong. There was little to no drama and I feel like that really made it enjoyable.

Hidden Gem

"A good person isn't someone who is just nice, but someone who changes others into nice people" — love to hate you, ep. 9

Y'all...I am gaggeddddd! I don't think there is a better feeling in this world than when you stumble upon a hidden gem like "Love to Hate You" randomly and end up loving it. This mature rom-com has pulled some strings on my twenty something year old heart and I couldn't be more grateful.

It's so FUNNY? Like, belly-laughing, coughing up water, snorting type of funny??? I absolutely LOVE when an entire ensemble visibly has a funny bone because, my god, there wasn't an episode where I wasn't dying from laughter. The plot isn't something you haven't seen before but they just do it so well. The line deliveries are incredible, the chemistry is INSANE (like let us breathe for a sec...WHEW), and lessons learned from the characters are unforgettable. We are who we are because of the people around us and we too can change because of them. Heartbroken this drama is only 10 episodes long but I think they have done us all a favor by doing that because I would have become insufferable, like actually.

If you're looking for a light-hearted rom-com that falls more on the mature side, I *highly* recommend watching Love to Hate You. It has everything and more and not the mention the four leads are FINEEEE. Wherever you lie on the sexuality spectrum, GOOD LUCK, because they do not play with the visuals in this drama.

Misogynist fells in love with a strong feminist

Love To Hate You was a quite production which I really liked not only for it's comedy and beautiful fight scenes but also for the questionably different ways of treating of males and females. I am feminist who just like Yeo Mi Ran hates when someone says "you did it good for a girl" or "girls shouldn't do that" pfffff Watch me! The war of the genders is treated here with a lot of humor but also shows the ugly truth.

For a series with only 12 episodes, the main characters were very well presented to the public. The secondary ones were not so well presented, but it was enough to like them. As for the acting itself and the cast, the actors were very well matched to the characters they played. Lawyer Mi Ran was not the most beautiful but she had a hidden beauty and fantastic character 👌, on the other hand Kang Ho was gorgeous but his character ... could be better 🙈😁 Together they create an explosive mixture and over time allow each other to solve relationship problems.

Although the acting and story contained in Love to Hate You is not up to Thirty-Nine, it deserves a good score of 6.5/10 👍 because it talks about a big problem faced by many societies in the world - inequality in thinking about a woman and a man. I'm not going to manifest anything here, don't worry about that 😅 I am a feminist but also a realist and I know women's limitations. Certain professions are made for men due to their physique, and a woman cannot overcome that. Sorry but no. However professions like lawyer, doctor or stay-at-home parent.... I don't see a difference if it's a man or a woman. Mi Ran's father's attitude is aggravating and I'd love to punch him in the nose myself.... 😒

Refreshingly hilarious

I needed a break from typical cliche romcoms and LOVE TO HATE YOU was exactly what i needed. The story is fresh, upbeat and hilarious. Absolutely enjoyed every moment of it.

The story was quite unusual from what I have watched before in kdramas. It was soo refreshing. The FL is my absolute favourite character after watching this drama. I didn’t like her at first but she totally won me over with her character. She is sassy, modern and jack of all trades. I love FLs who are badass boss ladies.
ML felt bit underwhelming at first but i grow founder of him around episode 4. He suddenly got cuter and I liked how his character turned out to be. The love and hate relationship between the main couple was soo fun to watch. Never a dull moment with them. In a way they just complemented each other soo well as a couple because they both had similar trust issues with the opposite gender.

Also,i am crushing hard on the ML’s friend. Loved his style and how cool he was. Woo joon is soo hot.
This is the kind of romcom you want to watch on days when you need to cheer yourself up and have a good laugh.
This years romcoms disappointed me quite a bit and I am glad to have stumbled on something fresh like this. The overall vibe of the drama is soo unusual in a good way. I am trying to be objective here with the review but don’t have anything negative to say about the drama cuz I really enjoyed a romcom after soo long.

Wickedly Hilarious

I completely passed on this title on Netflix because I thought oh, who's the ML and FL? But then I saw them as guests on a variety show Amazing Saturday and I was taken over by the ML. I am so glad that I get to watch the drama.
Very hilarious and awesome chemistry between the leads. I watched this because of Kim Ji Hoon at first but I was taken by Yoo Teo's charm and his face and aura fit a Noir film for sure.

This drama was easy watch and I was laughing all the time. Very light and fun to watch drama. The romance isn't bad at all either! Very realistic!

Fake dating with enemies to lovers trope

This is definitely not your typical sweet girl next door type of heroine because Yeo Mi Ran is a woman with strong will of justice, a feminist and a smart lawyer. While the male lead, Nam Kang Ho has a painful past that caused him to dislike women. Their first meeting and relationship was started with bad impression towards each other thus it leads to several incidents that forced them to form a contract and start to fake dating.
I found that they are naturally falling in love during their time spent together, and how they slowly open up and remove all the bad judgements about men/women in general. Honestly, I did not think their sorts of interaction is cringe nor awkward because they are adults, in 30s I believe. So, it is common for adult people act that way, and maybe we are too common with teenager sweet and innocent love that we find Mi Ran and Kang Ho's idea of being in love was so awkward to watch. Since it is a rom com with 10 episodes, I think it is well written and fast paced. Yeah, and I also enjoy the second couple's interaction as they are not stealing the main leads story and their story was cute and adorable.
Applause to the writer because they include the issue on misogynism, feminism, patriarchy, narcissism and write in a witty and fun way.

Easily the best romcom of 2023

I got to the point where all romcoms started to look similar in one way or another. I wanted a breakthrough romcom and LOVE TO HATE YOU was it . I didn’t realise it would be this good as it’s not that hyped. It has top notch comedy and steamy romance that I’ve been missing in kdramas. The tension between the main leads is fire. I was honestly so tired of the childish romcoms and this drama was refreshing as we see adults romance. It was fresh and updated.

The way the main lead couple were opposites yet soo similar to each other. She is a feminist who doesn’t trust men and he doesn’t trust women. Somehow they are comfortable around each other and fall for each other. But the way they fall is soo hilarious.
Kang ho did seemed like a jerk in the beginning but my god he grows on you and damn. He is hot at times and then cute other times. I totally fell for him.
Mi ran girl you rock !! We need more FL characters like her in kdramas.. She is not your typical , conservative, and timid female lead. She is a free spirited, fierce boss lady. Absolutely loved her vibe.
Kang ho and miran together were fireeee. They were quite a perfect pair who could deal one another because they are both competitive and like to win. Loved the tension between them.
Now my most favourite Mr. Do won joon. Man he is hot with his calm and collective personality. Loved the bromance between kang ho and won Jon 😜
One of the best Romcom kdrama that i have watched in a while. Had me laughing and blushing like crazy.

REFRESHING DRAMA!!

I've got not much to say....
but the drama is so refreshing

I've never laughed in a long time
you just have to watch it and enjoy yourself
don't watch it with the purpose of finding faults or using logistics to watch the drama
the Chemistry is really amazing for me....
I enjoyed it so much that I'm giving a review which I normally don't do
The bromance is amazing as well as the sismance
They should have developed more on the second couple or not do it at all

it also shows the perks of being a celebrity you know and helps us see what real celebrity out there face in their personal life
The cometis top notch

The enlightenment on feminism was also amazing
in Total the drama is great
and I'd rewatch it anytime
