Zhang Chi, the former head physician at Third-A Hospital, left thoracic surgery for the emergency center due to an accident and teamed up with Qi Ji, an experienced emergency doctor who was not in line with his medical philosophy. Started solid and went downhill towards the end
The drama started quite good and went on in a steady pace until ep 20 or so. Then it focused too much on past events and left barely any screen time for the actual main leads. I really don’t mind when we get flashbacks and a drama plot goes back in time to explain events that are related to main characters but it wasn’t well done. Except for weaving those scenes in, they came in a bundle while I was already focused on the main leads and did not want lengthy parts about the ML parents. Not to mention that it was hardly necessary to have multiple episodes for that, it could’ve been told in 3 episodes max.Towards the end (melo)drama added up to the point of being ridiculous and cliche. In the last 6 eps it felt like they had fired the original screenwriter and someone else took over because it literally looked like a different drama plot and character wise. Characters who had been acting reasonable the entire time suddenly became immature and acted like a spoiled child or dumb adults. Jealousy, jumping to wrong conclusions and sulking, you name it. These last couple episodes spoiled the entire drama for me. In the end we were denied the actual wedding between the main leads and were instead given a welcome scene of new emergency workers and a couple patriotic phrases. Yeah, that’s exactly what audience wanted…
Rating: a well meant 6/10 because the majority of the drama was good, the end though was really bad. I won’t go into detail but it had one major plot hole in the end that was not explained.
