Ryohei is overjoyed that he can finally spend time with his mother, but a tragedy strikes. Ryohei's mother was killed in a traffic accident. Hana and Yuta are overcome with sadness, thinking of Ryohei, who seemed to be having a happy time with his mother. After the funeral, Ryohei is going to live with his uncle in Yokohama. However, Hana, worried that Ryohei will be put into an institution, asks Kaori and Koichiro to let Ryohei live at the Kawai family home. Hearing Namie's strong opposition, Ryohei considerately leaves. Hana and Yuta cannot hide their anger towards Namie. Daichi is also feeling down, worried about Ryohei, but Momoko drags him out and insists that they go to the arcade. When Hana finds out, she yells at Daichi, saying, "Think about Ryohei!"—which upsets him. Momoko finds the situation amusing, while Hana is irritated. Amid all this, Ms. Junko is harassed by a thug at the Kawai family's shop. Rescued by Koichiro, Junko gradually starts to develop feelings for him.
