The shoplifter turned out to be Momoko, Kaori's real daughter. Momoko is the child of her ex-husband and is supposed to be in New York with her husband. Kaori wants to ask the reason, but Momoko has already left. The next day, Kaori finds Momoko with some delinquents in town and takes her back to the Kawai house. When Momoko hears that Kaori is marrying Koichiro, she gives her a cold shoulder.
Kaori contacts her ex-husband and finds out that he has remarried and has a child with his new wife, and asks her to take in Momoko. After that, Momoko leaves the Kawai residence and is harassed by some delinquents, but is saved by Daichi. Kaori and Hana rush to Daichi's house, but Momoko dislikes Kaori and refuses to go home with them. That night, Kaori tells Koichiro, "Please let me think about marriage so I can take in Momoko," but Koichiro suggests, "Let's live together with Momoko too."
