One of the best Thai BLs

I loved this drama so much, I finished it in two days. Despite what everyone says, i really liked the plot line, there was a clear story and development and it was never boring. I like how we get both sweet episodes when they are in highschool, and then more adult and deep episodes when they are on the island. What i loveeeed about this drama was the cinematography, it’s so calm and pretty especially during the island/beach episodes. These episodes on the island were amazing in general it really felt like an escape from reality, which is exactly what it was for PalmNeung.
PondPhuwin did an amzing job in this drama, their acting was really good. Palm was so adorably sweet and protective with Neung. And they weren't afraid to kiss with some passion, in my opinion this drama actually has the best PondPhuwin kissing scenes. They also acted out the sad scenes so well (especially those, after what happens to Palms mom), i liked how this drama had alot of moments that impact you, Where you’re shocked, or have to cry.
Unlike many other Thai BLs, this one is not cringe or tries to be funny, but has a real story and makes you feel something. It is unlike PondPhwuins other dramas, in a good way, and they really showed a different side of them in this one.
Whoever says this drama is bad, maybe just doesn’t like BLs made with a lot of care, but rather fluffy rom coms.

The chemistry brought the series to success

*happy ending*

This series is a good combination of romance, action and drama. And I loved every inch of it.

The main characters had the best chemistry, though at times Pond's face is a bit luckluster especially during serious conversations.

The other characters are very well casted. I loved every character, even the villain for their magnificent acting. I was deeply immersed to the story because of it.

The soundtrack is bomb. I had to save the whole album of the series in spotify because there is no song I didn't like. Highly recommended playlist.

The cinematography is chef's kiss. The color scheme is a mellow brown which gives off a feel of 90s kind of show.

The story may need a few tweaks though. There are parts that may seem like a stupid decision for the characters to do. Also, Palm never got out of his 'responsibility' love for Nueng which is kinda sad for me. I hope he learns to love himself as well and be spoiled to Nueng.

All in all, this is one of the best series created by gmmtv and a great series for PondPhuwin ❤️
Definitely a must watch!

Never let me go

Quite promising! Overall this story does have a strong pilot. It starts off with intense emotions. The storyline is typical but has a fresh feel to it. The lead pair's acting skills have improved drastically, and all the cast members complement each other's roles well. Mid-episodes give the feeling of a magical summer romance with a deepening feeling between Nueng and Palm. Towards the end, there was a big u-turn into the thriller element with massive emotional turmoil among both couples. If you truly love someone, you will do anything to make sure everything is perfect, no matter what the cost you have to pay for the other person's happiness. This emotion was well portrayed by both the lead couples. I hope I didn't reveal much.

Nueng and Palm: Pond and Phuwin did great with their respective characters. Nueng's jealousy over Maggie is funny and cute. Both Nueng and Palm subconsciously have feelings towards each other, but they are not able to express them properly. Wu and David's proposal gave the push Nueng needed to ask Palm to date, while Mama Mam gave that push to Palm. Phuwin as Nueng 2.0 towards the end was on point and top-notch. The whole reminiscences track between Nueng and Palm made this episode worthwhile. Nueng and Palm had lost the essence of their happiness, but ultimately, they got want they truly deserved.
Ben and Chopper: Initially, I felt terrible for Chopper, and I was not too fond of Ben and Nueng's scenes. Ben did cause a significant problem, which made Nueng doubt everyone who was genuinely friendly and caring towards him. But no one can actually blame him because he was forced to do this by his toxic father. I felt terrible for Chopper. Got their happy ending.
Kit: Crucial character.
Phiphop: He seemed like a good and caring father.
Tanya: She is such a sweetheart who loves her son no matter what happens and trusts him. Mrs Tanya did a great job by giving the push Nueng required.
Maggie: She is one of the few who truly cares and understands Palm. She is fresh and supportive.
Channon: The way Palm's dad treats him is awful, but in the end, he realised his mistakes.
Mama Mam: Her character is funny and a much-needed character to be introduced to lighten the whole vibe of the series. I like Mam's character development, and it just makes sense everyone has the right to live their life on their terms, especially all the Asian mothers out there because they make many sacrifices for their families. I really wish we had more episodes with her.
Phum: Double-faced and doesn't know the entire side of the story and acted based on it, but in the end, he knows the truth.

OSTs:
"Living for you" OST by Phuwin is magical and heavenly and complimented the wedding scene well.
"Only One" by Pond is sweet and gives the feeling of longing.
I really enjoyed listening to them.
All the other music chosen for the whole series was fantastic.

This series was an absolute masterpiece and I enjoyed every moment and every episode there was not a time where I felt the need to skip. By far one of the best Thai bls of this year. I’m so glad that PondPhuwin got an new series. Now although I didn’t have a problem with Fish Upon the Sky and I though both boys acting was great it was very refreshing to see both of them in a new light. Them going from a romantic comedy to a darker romance was very satisfying to watch. I loved the concept of this series so much.I really hope that they are in more series together in the future.

I love the story, the chemistry between the lead and the queer director behind the series

I love almost everything about the series.
I love the chemistry between Pond and Phuwin, I never watched them anywhere before, but after watching this I went to see their previous series FUTS and that was hilarious.
I love the BGM. (except the cowboy song in the make out session, that was strange)
I love the fact this was Jojo's first Y series. And he was the biggest Pond and Phuwin's fanboy behind the scene.

I don't understand the moaning and whining that the side couple didn't get enough screen time, since it is always like that. And the side couple will have their own series soon. I hope they will have some workshop to increase the chemistry, because rn what I see is just bromance. (Perth did say that he won't do another BL and now he came back biting his own words. I loved him in BLC with Saint, but I also hated the mess his manager and his fans did to Saint. They really did Saint dirty, almost ruining the boy's career, but good thing he came back strong). Perth can act, that is a yes, but no, he did not carry the show. I wouldn't be glued to my screen for 12 episodes and became a new fan of the two main leads if Perth is the one who carry the show.
I also love all the senior actors in the series, Organ and Nat, wow!!!

I understand Palm's struggle, the body and mind metaphor Nueng Diao talked about in the car. But both have very little self esteem in a different way, both didn't believe that they deserved to be loved. Nueng with his isolation due to his status, Palm from the abandonment issue both from his father and mother. People said Palm is so passive, but that was deeply embeded, he internalized everything. He did not say much, but he remembers. You can see the example all over the series (Kit told him in early episode that he was like Tanya's charity project and when Chopper in the last episode told him he will pay for the hospital bill, he told Chopper he doesn;t want to be their charity project). Another one fromm ep 1 ND asked him if he can actually take care of a rich boy like him, a guy from small fishing village. Palm mentioned this again in ep. 12. Still holding a grudge. This guy never forget all the bad words thrown at him. He just keep it inside. The character development is there, if you failed to see it. It is on your own. I myself, really love the series. I am now a fan of both Pond and Phuwin. They're hilarious on twitter as well. I have been Jojo's fans since 3 Will be Free. Now I am waiting for his gay mess on Only Friends.
Thanks Jojo for great drama, and thanks Pond Phuwin for great performance!

A good ‘can’t go wrong’ storyline with a so-so execution.

If I was being honest, I loved the first episode. I could already tell I would want to finish it entirely from the story and its elements. (such as the bodyguard and rich mc x poor mc tropes, which I'm usually a sucker for)

The chemistry, in my opinion, was a little stiff during the first episode and was just slightly more bearable in the second. The chemistry definitely had a better shift in the third episode, not a drastically good change, just a noticeable improved positive change, nonetheless, I’m pretty sure that it will get better once Ben is out of the picture since it seems like Nuengdiao’s attention is split between him and Palm.

I personally loved the, “I’m not looking for a protector but a friend” agenda Nuengdiao had, knowing that he comes from a very guarded and rich family that prevented him from ever forming deep connections with other people his age. The development they’re doing with the two also seems promising, so hopefully, this keeps up.

I say it was a so-so execution since I’m aware that this all boils down to personal preference. Some people would absolutely love this show and its essence, some would appreciate it but not fully be able to immerse themselves because of the acting so far (aka me), especially from the actor playing Palm, considering that his character is supposed to have so much depth and room to play out the protector role of Nuengdia better, I expected him to have more emotion than just always looking intimidated and or shy. At the same time, some would rather not touch it because of some plot holes and questionable lack of logical elements that should’ve been introduced given the situation of the show.

I appreciate how Chopper is very real and it’s great to have a character that isn’t your typical all-hate-in-his-mind person knowing he could’ve been so with his background and environment.

As of the 4th episode, I’m rating this show a solid 7.5/10.

I love this series

This series is definitely recommended if you like thai bl. It is very exciting. The actors acted it very well. This series from GMMTV is definitely a success. In my opinion, it has the best shade of series. I love this series because it has a very beautiful and perfect story. The only thing that bothered me a little bit is that there might be a bit too many death scenes. I am looking forward to more series from PondPhuwin.

it's all about the chemistry

I believe Director Jojo has said this was inspired by 90's Lakorns and it meant to feel more like those than some kind of mafia drama. The point of the show is watching Palm and Nueng fall in love and damn if they don't look amazing while they do. Perth and Chimon are kind of wasted after episode 6 but they were good for what they were needed for. Phuwin does a wonderful job establishing Nueng as vulnerable as he is bratty. I watched FUTS and Pond had a lot of moments there of obvious "acting" and there is none of that to be seen here. He is quiet, intense, in a lot of ways he reminded me of Heath Ledger in Brokeback Mountain in that he is feeling so much but doesn't have the words or the position to say them.

I.LOVE.THIS

i loved it soooo much. I've been sleeping on this for 3 whole years. when it came out i didn't watch it because i wasn't a fan of PondPhuwin, i was really excited for FUTS but it disappointed. since then, they were the couple i was least interested in BUT after We Are, they changed my opinion on them. i couldn't believe how much they improved so i decided to give this a try and i made the right decision. this is freaking beautiful from the beginning to the end. i could feel their love through the screen. that's how powerful it is. Palm is EXTREMELY adorable and a total green flag. both of them did a great job. the cinematography is probably one of the best from GMMTV. tho this has some plot holes but i think those can be easily ignored because of their love and chemistry. the ost "only one" by Pond is really beautiful as well, it has become one of my most favourites. but i do wish they showed us the ending with them finally being together forever in peace. but it was good too. overall, 12/10.

It's a very good series

Pondphuwin's acting improve a lot since their series called fish upon the sky, the plot twist is kind of predictable but it's good. I'm glad they made a happy ending for this series because I can't see nuengdiao living alone, palm is the light of nueng's dark and sad world. I have the biggest respect for the director for giving us this amazing series (it's not a masterpiece but this is an amazing series) and I'm also thankful for pond and phuwin for portraying nueng and palm's characters amazingly.

Where Your Eyes Linger

Before watching this, you need to put your brain in off mode and suspend belief because the story is ridiculous and fraught with holes and inconsistencies. If you do this, you are going to have a blast! If you don't , you will be bored out of your mind.
Another piece of advice, if you really want to enjoy this series, DO NOT read any reviews: I was binge watching it and then when I reached episode 6, the suspense was terrible and I read a review which pointed out everything that was wrong with this and of course, it completely ruined my fun!!!!

Some people compare this to KinnPorsche but this is not a mafia story. It is more of a conflict between two ways to run a business: clean and not. This is another bodyguard bl and now I hope that Thai producers have realized now that these series are just unbelievably silly and unconvincing and maybe they'll stop making them! Koreans did the first and the best one! Let's leave it at that!

The main character Neung is an 18yr old heir to his assassinated father's business empire. His uncle wants to take the business over and since he cannot, he tries to kill everyone blocking his path. So Neung goes on the run with his teen bodyguard (well, I told you to suspend belief!). ,

Let me list some of them:
- a teen bodyguard, former full time fisherman and high school student
- an heir under a threat going to school where everyone can get him
- they run away with a couple of empty backpacks
- after initial honeymoon on the beach, they decide to withdraw some money and are promptly found
- Palm's mother abandoned him because living with his father was suffocating (what a loving mother!)
- she is a tattoo artist but has no visible tattoos
- ridiculous baddie, the uncle
- Neung's mother telling Palm to leave her son alone only to tell her son, three months later to go and look for his lover
- a teen donning on a power suit and taking the business over (I guess the knowledge comes with an expensive suit!)....

And so on, and so forth....

They should have given this series another title which is a constant reaction by every character: Noble Idiocy - at one point every one had to do a self sacrificing gesture toward a loved person (mother, father, lover...you name it, it is here!) and the first prize goes to the main couple! They keep professing undying love for each other, they will face everything together and five minutes later, one or the other just disappears!

On the upside, the production is visibly excellent, scenes are pretty and there are some beautiful beach shot as well as the city at night. The music is amazing. Apart from the two songs sung by the main actors, there is a string of english language songs which raise this production above the usual thai bl. Though at one point, as Neung is leaving there is a christmas carol( The first Noel, I think) playing, which is completely out of context: nobody once mentions Christmas! That was just so ridiculous (though maybe the music editor is not familiar with western christmas music and he just liked this piano piece? Go figure!)!

And then, there were those "lovely" inspirational quotes at the end of every episode! That felt so vacuous!

The actors did their best but I could feel no chemistry between them and the actor playing Palm oftentimes looked as if he wanted to be somewhere else! And of course, Perth was just perfect!

This is a love story, a story of a first crush, of a real love, of an unrequited love. This is a story of a fine line that needs to be trod between affection and duty. This is a story of a family, the love between its members and the hatred the envie provokes. This is a story of good and evil, right and wrong and how to stay on the right path when faced with challenges.

The music that they have put and cinematography made this one one of the best BLs.

The music that they have put and cinematography made this one one of the best BLs. I loved everything about Palm character how soft and kindhearted. his love is so beautiful and his way of caring is so beautiful. I think if there is something missing would me more love scenes. I felt the tenderness between them but I needed more love between them. I have sad heart towards the series even though it has a happy ending. I don’t know if I am gonna rewatch it someday or not. bUt I have a broken and warmed place towards Palm. I think I fell in love and I feel that he deserves more and he really needed to love himself more.
pond Naravit his acting the best and I didn’t like the other octor’s acting as much as I did with pond. you can feel palm emotions through his reactions
