strong start, weak ending

The story has many plot holes but i still enjoyed it very much, until the last two episodes where the story started to make litteraly no sense. As many review say, the ending felt rushed, but also boring at the same time. I haven't read the webtoon so i can't compare the two but i still felt like we were missing some informations for the story to make sens. It really felt like it should have been a 16ep long drama but they suddenly had to make it shorter.

Nonetheless i think it is worth watching, particularly for the cast and the romance which were both amazing. I would have rated it at least 8 if it wasn't for the last episodes.

A Pleasant Watch if Slightly Predictable

I decided to watch this drama simply based on the synapsis, it was an intriguing concept.

What would you do if you could remember your past lives? Would this be a blessing or a curse?

I never really felt these questions were answered, however what we did get was an enjoyable romance with just enough drama to keep the story moving.

Shin Hye Sun as the female lead was really good throughout, but I particularly enjoyed her performance in the early episodes where she stole every scene she was in. She managed to combine smart, sassy, funny and sexy all in one unique package. She took no prisoners when she decided on her course of action.

Ahn Bo Hyun as our male lead was fine, I don't think he was particular stretched by this role and I didn't completely buy into his feelings of loss but that was a minor issue for me.

Perhaps his story arc featured a little too heavily for me as he tried to discover the mystery surrounding Ban Ji Eum death in her previous past life. I also found when they discovered the mastermind behind this and the reasons for it, this was rather underwhelming.

I would have perhaps have enjoyed this drama more if we had spent more time examining and experiencing Ban Ji Eum past lives. We got clips and flashbacks but these never really explored in detail. Maybe this was a drama that required 16 episodes rather the 12 we got?

As far as the ending was concerned it was slightly predictable, I've seen similar endings in other films and drama's. We get to see our leads reunited even if Ban Ji Eum doesn't remember Moon Seo Ha. It was sweet if not terribly original.

Overall this was a pleasant watch and did provide a happy ending for our leads, whilst I wouldn't rush to rewatch it anytime soon, I m sure to revisit it just for Shin Hye Sun performance.

Remembering the past lives, is it a gift or a curse?

Story 7,30/10: New, interesting, engaging, yet weak in some parts where it had to be strong.
The main plot that we see a lot in Manhwa but not in K-drama, the parts that were weak are, first :who was the one behind the car accident, we were supposed to feel shoked and sad while with the ML while finding out that the one who caused his big trauma and killed a precious person to him was the only one he trusted from his familly, and that because we didn't get to see much of his interactions with his uncle before. Second: FL's first life that had so much potentiel if they just developped it more, I wished we could see more of it. The ending in the other hand was so good and well done.

Acting/Cast 8,5/10: Shin Hye Sun is a shinning star, I started the drama for her and she never desappoint, her acting was the best part, 2 remarkable scenes of her, dancing with her mother's imagination and crying, and while remembering the death of her sister from her first life, you can't help but feel her emotions. The dance scene between the FL and ML was very beautiful too.
Seeing Maaaama's duo from Mr queen together again was so pleasing, happy to see this ajumma part of the cast.
I'm not a big fan of the ML though he did a good job in acting but the chemistery was lacking.
The child cast was so good, the kids were so amazing, my only problem was the fact that they didn't use a younger actor for the ML's scene with the child FL, it was awkward. The rest of the cast did great.

Music 8,5/10: The OST fits the drama and it was very well placed.

Rewatch value 8/10: I always think that a big factor for determing the rewatch value is the ending, and this one had a great ending so I may rewatch it someday.

Overall: 8/10

The Meaning of Life

From this Story, i learn about how to revenge back, not with Violence but with your heart. i know, that's Hard to give the forgive to your enemy, but if you want your life feel good, you must calm yourself and your heart first, and make sure you ready already to make New life with New feelings in your life next.
I Liked the story, because they make the story line is Light but touched. The cast played so well. I like because there so many Emotional scene, not because angry but sadness.
I know this Drama is adapted from webtoon. i never read the webtoon, but maybe if i already read the webtoon, it's will different from my expectation. as long I watched the story, I enjoyed the drama, and family scene always talk about deep Relationsip, and that's make me cry, as always.
I've read some of the reviews from other viewers, and they say the scene of ji-eun's first life, is not detailed and not enough story, because there's still another story there are still other unresolved stories, such as the life of the king, and other players.
but, come on guys, the main character in this Drama is ji-eun's not other.

one of a kind and lovely

rating this after rewatching it again after a year or so 🥹 still cried on the last episode 🥹🥹 this was such a nice kdrama and it ended so perfectly for me.

idk if my tears for the last episode was sad or happy tears but a huge chunk of it is because its so nice to see someone loved like that to the point that they're willing to find themselves to you even if you forget about them.

the ost was perfect too the scenes were perfect.

this was such a beautiful series that shows different types of unconditional love and it made my heart melt 🥹

past lives is a very interesting topic for me too so if there is a story like this i'm so gonna tune in and love it.

i know kdramas always end like that wherein the happy ending is shown in very few scenes but i wish we could've gotten atleast one more episode, would have loved to see seoha and jieum and her family bonding together even after she forgets everything

Hoping for Reincarnation to Be Real

"If life gets a bit tough, just think and hold on to a happy memory. Life must move on. "

This drama might as well be an arrow to the heart for someone who badly needs someone to be reincarnated right now. The drama's premise is quite a homerun and a heartbreaker at that.

I have high hopes for this drama and was hesitant to watch it as its title implies, see you in my 19th life. I have recently lost my husband of 22 years and I am in a disposition that I desperately wish that everything that was happening to Seo Ha will happen to me too. It was funny for me for the first few episodes as I keep on seeing Shin Hye Sun's character in Mr. Queen. It's like the first few episodes have this Mr. Queen vibe.

Towards the last episodes, I just felt that the drama lacks something....like I thought the story is going to reach its highest heights with an impressive and striking impact. I watched Episode 12 without experiencing that.

Nevertheless, some of the lines in the drama left a great memory for me, and Ahn Bo Yun's smile and mesmerizing eyes are the reasons why I keep on and enjoyed the drama till the end.

“What if love didn’t end when life did?”

See You in My 19th Life takes one of the most romantic ideas in storytelling...reincarnation, and delivers it with humour, heart, and a beautiful twist on destiny. Shin Hye Sun shines as Ban Ji-eum, a woman who remembers every one of her past lives and is determined to reconnect with the boy she loved in her 18th one. Her performance is fearless, witty, emotionally layered, and completely magnetic. This is one of those roles only she could play.

The drama balances fantasy and reality brilliantly, yes, the premise asks you to believe in centuries of memories, but it roots everything in very human emotion: grief, longing, healing, and choosing love even when it hurts. It shows the beauty and the burden of remembering everything… especially when trauma follows from one life into the next.

What truly sets this drama apart is how cleverly interconnected every character is. The show crafts a web of fate that spans lifetimes: family, friendship, loyalty, love, all intertwined for reasons that slowly unfold in the most satisfying way. The emotional reveals? Perfectly executed.

The romance builds exactly the way I love Korean dramas to build: slow, meaningful, intentional. No childish behaviour from the female lead, no random misunderstandings dragged out for episodes. Instead, we get adults who actually talk and grow through their feelings. And the male lead? Such a soft, loyal, protective baby once he opens up.

The ending is one of the sweetest I’ve seen in a long time. There’s no unnecessary tragedy, just healing, destiny reset, and a love that gets to start fresh in a peaceful way. Even though she forgets her past, the people who love her are still right there, gently making their way back into her life. That final sentiment?

“Even if the memories disappear… our souls will still recognize each other.”

Is it absolutely perfect? Goblin and Mr. Queen still hold the crown for me, but See You in My 19th Life comes beautifully close. A couple small tropes here and there, but nothing that ruins the ride. Honestly, it’s the first drama in a very long time that had me completely hooked....I binged it in 2 days and got zero work done. Zero regrets.

If you love:
• fantasy mixed with fate
• slow-burn soulmate romance
• emotionally satisfying storytelling
• charming comedy without ridiculous characters
• and a FL who is bold, hilarious, and impossible not to love…

…this is your next obsession.

Final Verdict:
A beautiful, healing, and deeply romantic tale about souls meant to find each other—again and again and again.
A definite must-watch.

Score: 9/10 — Nearly perfect, and 100% unforgettable.

Simple and clear review

I loved the scenery, fashion, and ost the most, the plot was okay, it got boring to watch at some points but still watched till the end, they went too slow on some eps and too fast in others which i didn’t like. The acting was on point from the female lead i love her so much, the male lead was honestly boring but hot, decent acting from him, the crying moments were amazing though. One thing about the last episode is how they could've made the female lead write a diary or something (like what they did in the legend of the blue sea) for her to remember everyone around her, also it would’ve been fun if they showed us how her life went after the memory loss.
Overall 8/10

This was such a masterpiece

See You in My 19th Life is one of those dramas that feels soft, emotional, and healing, but at the same time quietly painful. What makes it special is its unique concept of reincarnation—Ban Ji-eum remembers all her past lives, and in her 19th life, she chooses to find the boy she loved in her 18th. From the start, the story already feels heavy because it deals with love that goes beyond one lifetime.
The romance between Ji-eum and Seo-ha is slow but meaningful. It’s not loud or overly dramatic, but you can really feel the depth of their emotions, especially because Ji-eum carries memories and regrets from her past life. Seo-ha’s trauma and emotional walls made their relationship even more realistic. Watching them heal each other little by little was one of the most touching parts of the drama.
What I also loved is how the drama explores themes of loss, grief, and moving on. It makes you think about how memories—both happy and painful—shape who we are. The side characters and subplots added more emotion, especially when it came to family and unresolved pain from the past.
Overall, See You in My 19th Life is a beautiful and emotional drama that makes you reflect on love, fate, and second chances. It’s not just a romance—it’s a story about healing, letting go, and choosing to live fully in the present, even when the past still hurts.

It was a super good K-Drama. Definitely gonna re-watch again and again

I really like the character, the plot, and everything in it and I already re-watch this K-Drama for a thousand times. Also I really like the genre of this K-Drama: Mystery, Fantasy, Comedy, Romance.

I already watch so many Shin Hae Sun's K-Drama, but all I can say is See You in My 19th Life is the best K-Drama she has ever acted in, and her acting skill is so freaking good. But I didn't expected that Ahn Bo Hyun would play his role so good. He plays Moon Seo Ha better than the webtoon (already read the webtoon before watch this K-Drama).

Literally cried for this drama and gonna re-watch again in the future too.

it had so much potential but the plot fell flat

- slow pacing; didn’t care much about what was really happening until halfway through the series when she was remembering her first life; didn’t care for the conglomerate family sabotage subplot
- really only started paying attention when she sought her sister and her mother bc those relationships felt more real to me, especially bc she’s been rejected by family before. i didn’t care so much about her and seoha’s childhood romance which i thought was meh to begin with but i understand they had a special bond bc he was struggling w his family and she was there for him and they ended up being in an accident together, but i didn’t see how or why he was so important to her tbh he seemed like just a kid who wanted her to be a kid but that’s it ig idk
- also thought it was kind of weird they had the child actor juwon have proximity scenes with adult actor seoha but i felt like that could be removed and it wouldn’t hurt the story 😬 i already get it, he’s thinking of her as she was when he lost her. we don’t need the visual lol
- the buildup to remember her first life and the rage that brought on her curse to remember everything did not meet my expectation once she realized it and decided off-screen that she was going to let that go 😕 i don’t expect her to be angry and kill mingi but i thought it deserved a little more theatrics since we spent an entire episode remembering her rage and thirst for revenge.
- so the ending felt flat to me
- i know chowon is supposed to portray the younger sibling but it didn’t seem like she grew or matured from her sister’s death—i would’ve loved to see her character further developed.
- ending was super weird LMAO it didn’t feel natural at all, acting weird around her when it’s their first time meeting oh lord cheesyyyyy but at least they went full circle to the first episode. i thought it was cheesy at the beginning too so that’s that lol ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
- the POTENTIAL for a complete 180 would’ve been like this: if all along it was jieum and mingi who were lovers and he died by seoha’s hands. so she realized too late that she was in love with the enemy and that her true love was waiting for her 😭 i would’ve loved to see that kind of plot lol but i guess this isn’t the style of kdrama for me, but i DO love time travel plots. maybe i wanted a bit more angst regarding her first life and how she’s processing it and what that means moving forward when she decides to let go of not just her current relationships but ALL her past lives. we took too long with the subplot of juwon’s accidental murder which didn’t even end up mattering all that much imo
- even the subplot with the mom from her past life would’ve been more interesting but i feel like they added yeon ok for that circumstance only and she was a pretty useless character overall
- the second lead romance would’ve been cute if it was written better idk i feel it was lacking depth and i didn’t see any chemistry between the two at all
- overall it was a bland kdrama and i wouldn’t recommend it even to anyone who rly loves time travel romances 😞 it just wasn’t satisfying enough to justify watching the full series
