Story of Kunning Palace

Going back to the past, trying to fix their mistake in the past. Its a slow pace, but the character development was worth the wait.

-Hidden Identity

Yeah this story-genre is different too but
--the male leads character is very similar. Both male leads are morally grey and kind of red flag . Slow burn and slowly developed feelings for female lead. Both are vengeful , manipulative , schemer and master of a musical instrument ....... female lead learn things from male lead.....
-- even the character of second male lead is kind of similar too . Like nice and kind but not meant for female lead.
-- In SOKP fl is also strong and capable character. Though she was villain in her first timeline .....you will be able to see the growth of female leads in both dramas .

The female character is very smart just like our female lead in SOKP. The story is very well paced and ending is satisfactory. Moreover, we get to see the male lead support his wife and all of her schemes.

Same script writer. In Story of Kunning Palace the Female Lead also tries to change her fate while running from the male lead to avoid a repeat of their previous disastrous ending.

similarities:
both have a good balance of comedy and drama
plot twists and schemes
both MC are intelligent (in SOKP the FL went back in time and in JOL the ML have modern world knowledge)
power struggle between a lot of factors
differentials:
SOKP have more romance while in JOL it's more about ML dealing with schemes and stuff

-they're not that similar but in my opinion if you like one you will like the other

The political intrigue is intriguing so much, many plot twists in both dramas, both female leads are smart and bold and a bit kunning.. The male leads in both are a kind of obsessed and yandere, the plot is well written and the set is similar as well as the cgi and the characters setting.

Female lead went back in time to change the ill fate of her death and other decisions she made wrong previously...

Well, both dramas have a different stories but they do share some similar key points..
•Both are palace setting dramas with political intrigue, palace politics, hidden agendas, kunning characters, clever characters...
•Both are female centric dramas.
•Both are a reverse-harem dramas where many male characters are interesting in the female leas whether it's a love interest or admiration for her impressive personality.
•Both fls are good in scheming, eloquent and clever, beautiful, smart, strong and bold...
•Both male leads have a dark/sad past, both are obsessed / yandere with the female lead.
•Both have such an interesting and engaging plot twists..

When Xie Wei's rebellion starts, she had no choice but to give up all her assets in exchange for her life. She gets confined in the Kunning (Ningan) palace with Jiang Xuening. It is also from her where Jiang Xuening learns of the silk investment, Ren Weizhi's salt wells business, and the modern stocks trades system.

A lot of similarities between the two!

The writer back to past life and be the main character there.
And the male lead is a sinner too..
At first the female lead fall in love with another man.

Historical period drama,
The plot revolves around the leading women,
I'm adding it here in case anyone wants to watch it.

Similarity points:
- At first FLs only know the MLs as cruel & cunning, who will plot to overthrow the current rulers
- MLs are tormented by their past leading to their cold and aloof front
- FLs always attempt to go against the ML at first
- MLs suspect FLs intentions at first
- FLs always suspect the MLs of any crime or plot and for the most part they are correct
- MLs actions ofen misunderstood as they understand the undercurrents better
