i loved it
I watched this drama around a month ago, and didn't plan on putting a review, but it has been sitting in the back of my head for so long I just had to. Firstly, Small & Mighty had caught my eye because I really enjoy law + comedy genre, so I believed I would like it. Turns out, I actually absolutely LOVED this drama, maybe even more than I originally thought. The story follows a top-star lawyer named Liu Liang, who is a very haughty and arrogant person. He somehow gets involved with rookie lawyer Xiaoyan, who is very righteous and always bent on seeking and serving justice to her clients. Naturally, the two clash upon first meeting, and it gets even worse when Liu Liang ends up getting kicked from his prestigious law firm and ends up joining (you guessed it!!) the same law firm Xiaoyan is working at. Along the way a child also gets involved with the pair, little Liangliang, who claims that Liu Liang is actually his father! Throughout the drama, the trio is constantly up to hijinks while Liang and Xiaoyan also team up professionally to take up cases.
This was my first Taiwanese drama, so I didn't really know what to expect. The cinematography of this particular drama was the first thing that caught my eye, it was very unique, and it definitely grew on me by the end of the show. The cast was great, I loved the main leads' chemistry, and little Liang Liang is so adorable!!! This drama has all the great genres for someone looking for a very lighthearted but warm drama with many great lessons; everything from slice of life, to law, to comedy, to found-family, to workplace to friendship. If you are a fan of law dramas, the law cases in this drama are episodic, every one to two episodes there is a new case, and the nature of the cases are kind of like the ones shown in Extraordinary Attorney Woo; cases with just the right amount of realism and wholesomeness. The comedy and character-dynamics of this drama remind me of May it Please the Court; the leads have really great chemistry while still maintaining the bickering couple energy. For those wondering, romance is very minimal in this drama, but the leads are pretty much soulmates, and I like to imagine they will be romantically-canon at one point in the future (i am actually delusional lmfao). I recommend this drama if you're in the mood for something funny, silly, but still filled with great lessons.
Also I just want to take a moment to talk about this dramas OSTs, because why are both the intro and outro song so GOOD?! Especially Always by J.Sheon like wow!!
If you are interested in starting this drama, I highly recommend it! However, fair warning, you may become extremely attached to this bunch once the drama is over. It's been a month, and I'm still suffering from withdrawal symptoms lol. I really hope they make a season 2 <3

Would’ve been a 10 except for the ending
I loved this show so much, and the interactions between the female lead and male lead were leading us to believe they would end up together. That didn’t happen so I was very disappointed. I love the premise of the hotshot ML and an underdog, kinda awkward FL getting together. I would be so happy to see a season 2 for this drama which would wrap up their relationship with a happy ever after. I also was disappointed that the little boy didn’t live with Lui Liang while his dad was doing time in prison. The had such a fun dynamic that I was wishing for more time with them together. All of that said about the ending, I highly recommend this drama. (Sorry about the spoiler but if not for the ending, this would’ve easily been 10 stars for me.

Small on Logic, Mighty on Fun & Chaos
Small & Mighty was a fun watch overall, don’t go in expecting a serious law drama though, because logic definitely takes a backseat here. It's mostly comedy, and it knows it. The real draw is the bickering duo of lawyers and the chaos they bring. The show runs on a case-of-the-week setup. Each case spans a few episodes before moving on, and most of them are pretty entertaining.
Liu Lang is a well-known, high-priced lawyer who's a bit unhinged. He’s not exactly a great person, he’ll do whatever it takes to win, even if his client is obviously in the wrong. He worships money and is kind of a “womanizer”. But one day, a kid shows up calling him "Daddy" and chaos follows. After a scandal, he ends up broke, sells everything, and suddenly has to work at this shabby little law firm.
That’s where he meets Lin Xia Yan again, a rookie lawyer who’s way too righteous for her own good. These two constantly bicker and their dynamic is gold. The whole firm is a quirky bunch, and their group interactions are honestly one of the highlights.
Oh, and Liang Liang (the kid) is so adorable. Like, scene-stealer level cute.
As the drama goes on, Liu Lang very slowly becomes a slightly better human. Meanwhile, Lin Xia Yan learns that maybe being a justice warrior 24/7 isn’t always the way, and that sometimes, not helping can be okay too (maybe).
Overall this is a recommend watch for when you want a lighthearted and emotional sometimes fictional legal drama.
