Beautiful cinematography
Wow I can’t believe I took so long to watch this. This is so tasteful and beautiful. The lighting, acting, camera effects/angles/scenes and the MUSIC were all so artistic and truly made this more than just a drama. You could feel the significance of the mood/energy in the scene with the cinematography and the lighting for the scene. The glances and stares between the two actors! The camera angles and scenes were amazing I loved the way they were executed. There was some fine skills put into this show. It’s ten episodes and there was never a moment where I felt bored or dragging. The chemistry was real and tasteful between the leads. The scenes with the psychiatrist were so cool!!! Like when the camera was zoomed in on the silver balls on the table or on the fish tank for the conversation ahhhh so sick!!!!
Please watch. Thank you

Way better then most BL series out there but not perfect.
It's not a perfect series, but they really tried. What I didn't like it was the sequence sometimes felt really off, but the rest was by far way better that most BL series out there. Both main characters were well portrayed. The chemistry was there, the longing, the desire, the doubt, the urge to be together, the sadness, and so on, you can clearly feel that because both actors really did their job and gave what they have.Lim Ji-Sub surprised me the most; what a beautiful gem they got while casting him. The "micro" expressions you can see thanks to the careful angles the directors decided to film him, that's from another world. The way that man can change his sad and empty expression by just a tiny hint of a smile, it's definitely not something lot of actors out there can pull off. I hope we can see him in more projects in the future.
Oh Jun Taek. Another great discover. If I'm not mistaken, his first role and he was castead out the streets. Regardless, he delivered and showed that you don't really need that much experience to give such a warm, beautiful and natural performance, which it's not that common in the BL industry, where most actors seems to be waiting constantly to say their lines in the most lame way and go home.
Should all BL's stories be like "The Eighth Sense"? Definitely, no.
But I hope, in terms of production, quality and performance, other productions could improve and deliver better series since the BL industry is growing more and more.
After finishing the series, you can clearly see that the production didn't "just wanted to ride the BL train trend";
they actually wanted to tell a story, took care of details, and make the most out of their cast and resources.
Let's stay tuned for what other projects the actors & directors have for us in the future.

This was sooo good
I really loved this series and it felt pretty relatable since I also moved from the country side to the city. The loneliness is so real. Also really liked how they showed it in the serie. Something that didn't make much sense was how Seo Jae Won and Kim Ji Hyeon kept meeting everywhere? The music was fucking peak to bro, and the scene in the bus together omg... anyways I also really liked how they had this moment of like realisation but it was also kinda sad lmao, I fucking cried lmao. The loneliness is shown ssooo well to. I love the owner of that bar that kept giving Ji Hyeon advice she was so nice omg. Also poor Jae Won, his therapist was quite the opposite of the boss lmao.
Anyways loved this definitely recommended! Especially if u wanna cry :3

The storyline is so simple but the drama is so beautiful.
I don't usually write reviews but this drama was just so amazing. This drama has the normal college romance storyline, but the character personalities are so much deeper than I've seen in any other drama. The connection and chemistry that they have is so breathtaking. I enjoyed the fact that this story has relatable characters and scenes.I have seen many romance dramas and this one has got to be my favourite. I couldn't stop watching it, every episode was a rollercoaster ride! I would completely recommend this for anyone into any kind of romance, not just bl.Was this review helpful to you?
Not for me, but maybe for you.
There was nothing particularly wrong with this. The acting was fairly solid and the actors had overall nice chemistry, but the storyline just didn't capture me. This is clearly very beloved for a majority of people, so it's not something where I would write it off entirely, but a true measure for me is that I watched this less than a week ago and already forgot a majority of it. There have been others where I remember them years later, and it seems like this is a story like that for some people, so it may be for you.Was this review helpful to you?

beautiful production
I really enjoyed this drama. I was able to put myself in the characters' shoes and understand their actions and feelings. I would like to mention that I liked that jihyun was the perfect partner, because although he was dealing with feeling bad because he missed jaewon, he understood the situation that was happening and knew how to give him his space and wait for him, allowing him to heal but not abandoning him. I felt a lot of relief when jaewon returned to him and allowed himself to be loved, plus, i loved the choice of music for this drama, each song really accompanied the scenes correctly.the actors and the production really did a good job, thank you very much for letting me enjoy this beautiful series.

G.O.A.T.
Best KBL. Period. The story was relatable and realistic. Many people can relate to Jaewon and Jihyun. I love the fact that they gave us a FULL EPISODE HAPPY ENDING instead of the more conventional couple of minutes, final scene happy ending.
The actors were excellent. Oh Juntaek (Jihyun) was excellent for a rookie casted off the streets by the show creators. Im Jisub (Jaewon) was also excellent and I thought he played the part perfectly. I think he could be a great actor in future roles.
The music was on another level. From the opening credit theme and other tracks by Korean band Wetter to Ben Goldstein’s ‘I Can’t Lose it All’ and Conan Gray’s The Story. So good.

A romance that is quiet but lovely.
The Eighth Sense is a BL story about a countryside boy meeting a man who just came out of the army and is going back to his old life. You can see that there is so much happening here with this characters and I was not expecting that in this BL. I feel like to story is really about these characters finding peace in another person and making it work as they face the new day. To be honest, I am impressed with this BL because the story is interesting as they are highlighting the importance of having someone by your side to help you with the difficulties of the world around you and I think that it is a very nice theme to have. The lead character is Jae Won played by Lim Ji Sub. He just got out of the military and he is handling the death of his younger brother whom he saw die in front of him so when we got to the shocking episode 6, I know how hard that will be. Actually, Episode 6 of the show is a real highlight for me because it is where the relationship of these two peaked so good. I mean, we have been seeing them thread the friendship and relationship as lovers quite often and I like that they are not rushing into things but what made it so good is that the romance slowly exploded in the sixth episode and we got to really see them be a part of each other’s’ lives as they slowly open themselves up and I think that is what a good start to a relationship so I was so gagged when the accident happened. I was shocked. I am shocked. It happened after the sweetest scenes and this led to Jae Won doubting himself again. This is a guy suffering from depression and he had this happen again can really be a scary thing so that opened a lot of his wounds so he begun closing himself up again and it was now Ji Hyun who needs to take the initiative and I am glad he did. I think the relationship is bumpy because these people are not clear-cut characters who are having the best time of their lives but they are individuals who are trying their best to survive this world and I like the realistic approach of this story to these kids transitioning from the student life to working. I have to give it to them because they are adding a realistic element not to be a blunder to the relationship but instead be something that is just there happening to them. To be honest, the last few episodes had moments in them that dragged on for a bit too long and I really wish that the characters would have just talked to each other but at the same time I was so happy to see a Korean BL that is more than 30 minutes per episodes. We even had an episode that more than 40 minutes so I really do think that this is a good and positive way for them to continue with these stories and I love this one. I have to give it to the chemistry of the characters here because they really looked cute together and the moments where they are supporting each other are really beautiful and honest to God, the sweetest. I love the chemistry and the acting. The stories about adulthood are important to highlight and they did that. I think this is a pretty good BL. The cinematography is another strength of this show because it really looked good and I love how some shots stay with the characters instead. They are focused on the characters and it was good to see them focus on the smaller gestures like walking silently while holding hands. These moments are what makes it so remarkable and memorable. I really loved and enjoyed watching this show as I hope that there will be more. Was this review helpful to you?
A deep and intriguing tale of common strangers to lovers
Not your typical school set-up Korean BL. I was astonished by the dramatic vibes and gloomy feelings presented in the show. Im Ji Sub is the man! He was the reason why I decided to watch this show as he already managed to catch my attention during his minimum screen time in the Love Revolution web series. He is spicy and hot with such splendid visuals; it’s hard not to fall in love with him. It’s a good thing that he knows how to act genuinely. The thing I most liked about Jae Won is that he never let Ji Hyun be out of place when the freshman boy joined their surfing club. Yet, to be honest, I didn’t like how Jae Won came back to his ex-girlfriend after an incident happened when he was traveling with Ji Hyun. But to understand, it was all about Jae Won’s traumatic history that lead him to create a distance between Ji Hyun. Although the last few episodes are too shaggy for them to reconcile, it still feels good to see them both back on being lovey-dovey.
Intimate scenes are the best element in the drama. The outdoor beach night getaway and the sequence of romantic connection giving their all best to kiss and touch each other was wholesome. They win me every single kiss except for Jae Won being kissed by his slutty ex-girlfriend.
Supporting characters are fine as well. The bar boss who stands as Ji Hyun’s temporary mother in Seoul has such a warm and direct personality that will always be ready to stand up for you. Ae Ri is your supportive best friend despite being a bad influence, you can still feel that you’re grateful for being beside you. The same with Ji Hyun’s best friend, Joon Pyo. I condemn how Jae Won still choose to be friend with Tae Hyun who is a walking red flag since episode 1.
I enjoyed the complete episodes but there is still something lacking in terms of excitement and overall impact that made me rate this drama with an average score only. Yes, it was a good show but not the best drama that I’ve seen this year.

The best BL in ages!
"The eighth sense" is an incredible show, and I've watched twice since it has been released. As a viewer, you fall in love with the main characters as you get in touch with their background stories, and find yourself praying for them to get together forever and ever.Every single character and the relationship between all of them is incredibly well written and the story approaches their trauma really well, in a way that adds to both the reasoning and reaction in their actions. Because of that, the characters seem actually human and you can see them as not just a requirement for the plot to work. My favorite thing ever about the writing is how they portrayed Jae Won's mood fluctuations and made Jihyun to be his safe space, where he can just be himself.
I, personally, love the camera work and color editing in every scene. Tho I am not a professional and can't explain it further, is clear that it was made by artists that wanted to bring out the best version of the show.
Don't even get me started on the acting! The whole cast is amazing and worked perfectly together. In every scene, you could see what the characters were thinking and that's something I've missed in the recent tv shows.
The story is clearly written by queer people for queer people and we love it!!

If the ocean was a show, it would be this
The more I think about it, the more I’m convinced it’s deserving a top spot in my personal favorites. I kind of agree with some users in calling out the “weight” of the story, which is quite simple, but I cannot stress enough how simplicity can and is a good thing when done right. There’s so much happening under the surface here and it’s all carried through with an incredibly expressive cast, all graced with such a natural gift for acting out the little moments. I felt like as a watcher I just jumped on a ship and navigated through the waves of every episode. LOVED how slow paced it was and how they took their time with what they felt was important to serve their characters. Definitely a more mature approach to the BL world. Thank you, South Korea, you’re raising the bar for everyone else! Was this review helpful to you?
