Even if This Love Disappears from the World Tonight: 12/20/2025
This movie made me absolutely sob my eyes out like never before. I knew the ending but that didn't make it hurt any less, in fact I think it made it hurt more. You get to see how everything plays out knowing what lies ahead and just hopping by some miracle the ending is different. It also hurt seei8ng how everyone around them was affected as well, I will always recommend this movie if you are needing a good cry.Was this review helpful to you?

As in the summary of the movie this not a typical happy ever after movie
The best scene of this movie which i like is the scene where they were together watching the fireworks. the boy promised that he will always stay with her ( which he can't fulfill because later he will find out the reason) then they kiss but the girl wish that she didn't want to forget the moments. when i watch this scene first times i thought maybe they will have happy ending together later in the movie but i was wrong. so if you have watched this movie my question are you okay. Thank You for reading my review. ✌️Was this review helpful to you?
Beautiful
This is a beautiful movie about love, what people will do for love, and the power of love. When I watch Japanese movies or dramas, the movies seem too short, and the dramas too long. I wanted more of this movie. The editing and what happened in the movie were just too abrupt. I felt that the important things just got a slight mention and then the story quickly moved on.The actors were all good. This movie was understated and calm. It was living a daily life of a girl that has to start over every day. Reading the signs posted in her bedroom, reading and writing in her journal every day. I was kind of bothered that she spent most of her time with her phone up in her face, taking pictures or videos, but it made sense to the story.
There's a twist that I didn't see coming. And boy, Japanese filmmakers sure know how to wring the emotions from a person!

Overall.. 10/10
this movie left me grinning from ear to ear, eyes swelling with tears, some moments at the same time. Totally captivated by the acting, visuals, settings, music, and the PLOT. Portrayed so well. Really felt the true understanding and heart of ML.So touching and honestly really sad what the Second FL goes through during this whole whirlwind. her tears brought upon my tears.
ugh why so sad though.
Definitely realistic and stuck to the plot. No drama, just a heartbreaking romance with a true illness.

Not watching this a second time ! Trauma !!
This movie is just another JTrauma, and recently, Korea dropped its remake, However, if you're looking for a viewing experience that will profoundly traumatize you, I highly recommend the original Japanese version. I won’t give away any plot details, but I must emphasize just how powerful and moving this adaptation is. It’s a cinematic experience that left me deeply affected, so much so that I don’t think I could ever bring myself to watch it again. Although it’s an incredible and emotionally charged, it’s one that lingers long after the credits roll. You should definitely watch it, though, because it’s truly a beautiful piece of art that deserves to be seen. Was this review helpful to you?
this aint a cliche sickness movie...
Even if This Love Disappears From the World Tonight* hit me right in the heart. Uff, it’s a gorgeously filmed love story that truly dives into what it means to love someone when time and even memory are slipping away. The leads are bound by a promise that’s both heartbreaking and beautiful, and as their bond grows, the story pulls you deeper with it. This isn’t your usual “sickness” trope; it’s about the fleeting magic of love and how memories shape us, even as they fade. If you’re into emotional, thought provoking stories, this one’s an absolute must-watch.

Captures the Transience of Love with Grace and Emotion"
Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight directed by Takahiro Miki, based on the novel by Misaki Ichijo. The film centers on the heart-wrenching yet beautiful love story between two high school students, Toru Kamiya and Maori Hino. Toru, after a prank confession, unexpectedly starts a genuine relationship with Maori, who suffers from a memory disorder, causing her to forget everything about her daily life every night. The film explores themes of love, memory, and the impermanence of human connections, presenting a poignant narrative that feels both tender and fragile. The chemistry between the lead actors and the emotional depth they bring to their roles make the story compelling and touching. As viewers watch Toru’s determination to maintain their love against Maori’s memory loss, the film reminds us of the power of love and the pain of inevitable loss.
What stands out is the film’s delicate direction, capturing moments of joy and melancholy through beautifully framed scenes. The emotional resonance, especially in the final moments, lingers long after the movie ends, offering a bittersweet yet hopeful message about cherishing love, even if it’s fleeting.
Overall, the movie is an emotional journey that showcases the beauty of love even in the face of adversity, leaving a lasting impression on viewers. If you appreciate heartfelt dramas, Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight is worth watching for its emotional depth and visual beauty.

A Quiet Heartbreak That Lingers
I really liked this movie — it reminds me of 50 First Dates, but with a quieter and more painful twist, combined with the emotional atmosphere of 20th Century Girl. I watched both the Japanese and Korean versions, and while both tell the same story, they made me feel very different things. The Japanese version felt heavier in the most delicate way. The emotions weren’t forced — they sank in slowly. The silence, the pauses, and the way the characters carried their pain made the love feel fragile, almost temporary, as if it could disappear at any moment. It didn’t rely on grand gestures; instead, it focused on small, ordinary moments that somehow hurt even more because you know they won’t last.
What stayed with me the most was the idea behind the line, “Even if this love disappears from this world, my heart will paint you.” Even when memories fade, the feelings remain — quietly, instinctively, without needing explanation. That thought alone made the story even more heartbreaking, because it suggests that love doesn’t completely disappear, even when everything else does.
The Korean version felt softer and more polished. It was still emotional, but the weight of the story didn’t linger as deeply. The romance was clearer and easier to absorb, but it didn’t leave the same quiet ache.
Overall, the Japanese version touched me more — not because it was louder or more dramatic, but because it trusted the audience to feel the pain on their own. It’s the kind of story that breaks your heart gently, and then stays with you.

Feels rushed
I might be the only one who will say this but I felt like the ending doesn't make sense and feels rushed. The writer might thought that it needs to have an element of sad (to have an appeal) so he/she needs to deliberately kill the lead, I can't even cry and was questioning the ending for like hours. It would have been better if it was an accident or like he needs to disappear because she got an oppprtunity and they met at the end without her remembering, I would have enjoyed that ending. The initial plot was good, the execution could have been better.Overall, I like the acting and chemistry.

Beautiful, yet heartbreaking.
Although i expected to cry when watching this movie after i read the synopsis, i didn't expect to cry this much. The story was so beautiful, nicely explaining about this one girl who got her memories 'reset' everyday and her relationship with fake-boyfriend toru kamiya. MAJOR spoilers ahead. When i heard about toru's death, my tears started flowing even though i kinda expected him to be not around after what happened in the beginning, i wasn't ready for him to tell izumi that he wanted her to delete him from maori's diary so she wont be depressed after he left her. this part was so sad and beautiful at the same time.
Although i glad she gradually recovers from her illness, deep in my heart, i wanted her to be happy with toru but the author said: sike, there won't be a happy ending. T_T
P.S: I rated the rewatch value so low because i, personally won't be watching this anymore. it's too painful to rewatch for me.

soft......then devastating
This version truly does the story justice.I really loved how it was filmed. the setting, the colors, the camera tones, and the lighting were all beautifully done. Everything felt intentional and visually stunning, which added so much depth to the overall experience.
Emotionally, it completely pulled me in. One moment I was smiling, and the next I found myself tearing up. The way the plot unfolded felt immersive and sincere, allowing the emotions to build naturally. It didn’t feel forced , it just flowed in a way that made everything hit harder.
I genuinely loved it.
