It made me feel all the feels
This drama is a wholeass experience. The non verbal storytelling was some of the best I've ever seen. There was so much that was said without uttering even a single word, case in point: the little, seemingly unconnected scenes at the beginning of each episode. Pay attention to them. They may seem inconsequential, but tell a whole story of their own when analyzed in the context of the ambiguous ending of the show.
So too was the case with how the passing of time was subtly but distinctly conveyed not only by the clothes the actors were wearing, but also by looking at their environment. I genuinely wonder over how long a period of time this was filmed, became the production crew can put actors in shorts and short sleeves in the middle of winter and pretend like they're enjoying a nice summer day, but how do you transition from bare branches, to trees in full bloom, to verdant and lush foliage to falling leaves? You can control wardrobes, but not mother nature.
I loved the OST, the plot of the drama, the cinematography and especially the main couple. They had such intense chemistry, and Se Jong in particular just blew me away with how much he could emote just by minutely changing his facial expressions. I liked him in Still 17, but he was amazing here.

Was this review helpful to you?

WORTH IT
Okay I was super hyped up for this mostly because i LOVE suzy baes acting and I knew this was going to be a banger.Doona was an interesting concept for me from the start, i’ve always loved ‘celebrity/non celebrity’ tropes because they’re either tragic or a lovely love story.
The love between the main characters was a doom from the beginning, both of them so toxic going on and off and never really properly communicating, but i really loved the chemistry between the actors.
The first kiss in the show made me get butterflies, and thats really rare for me! I loved how Doona was the confident and dominant one and then later on when Wonjun got a little bit more confident, he started taking charge too.
But their love story was so short lived and yet so painful. I was actually really rooting for them, and i’m so sad that they didn’t end up together. I know it’s the harsh reality yadda yadda but c’mon!!
I liked the side characters as well, especially the side couple, I just kneeeew something was gonna spark between them, they were adorable!
Seeming how the show ended, I don’t think there will be a season 2, it seems pretty in the face about the ending. Even a time skip. They will always long for each other but never have each other, and that thought alone breaks my heart for both of them.
This even made me think how it would be a nightmare to date someone famous…imagine getting hated on for loving someone and then when you break up, you see your ex everywhere. Just seems like a nightmare.
Anyway the show is a really good quick watch!

Breakfast at Tiffanys's inspired k-drama
Doona is a slice of life drama with a very carefully built slightly melancholic ambience. Fantastic acting from Suzy and Yang Se Jong. This reminded me of Age of Youth, which I like a lot. Especially the second couple. Maybe it was somewhat difficult to relax bc from the beginning it was kinda clear there would be no happy ending. But all the time I when I was watching I was getting Breakfast at Tiffanys vibes. There were definitely similarities, but that just made me appreciate this drama more. Especially Yang Se Jong's character was very similar to Breakfast at Tiffany's male lead, outsider-ish, ordinary and rooted. Suzy's character was unconventional and slighly unbalanced like Audrey Hepburn in BaT. Also, both were tied to a man from their pasts. I really enjoyed this a lot and I think the writer and director created a very good, unconventional k-drama. I'd give a Daesang for Suzy for her role. I know more trashy and popular dramas will get the awards make the headlines, but I guess that's okay, since this was just right for me.Was this review helpful to you?
A nice one-day binge
Doona! is a pleasantly ambient drama that’s easy on the eyes — it never strays from its core to dip into dizzying twists and turns and the temptations of melodramas or overdrawn love triangles.I liked the easygoing pace of it, the soft light, and the muted colors. I loved the lingering shots, and the thoughtful framing.
Overall, it was simply a fun watch with likeable characters and an easy to follow story. And no complaints with how gorgeous and spot on Suzy’s hair, makeup, and styling was.

E sim vou acreditar piamente nisso kkkkk

Loved it
When dramas are slow, sensual, and depressing, then they're for me. I really like this show and the progression of the characters relationships and the story. Suzy was such a wonderful surprise, her portrayal of a downward spiraling kpop idol was amazing. If you think this show was slow and boring then thats valid.... I just so happen to prefer slow and boring. If this show is your vibe then I def recommend
Do you like Brahms?
Moonshine and Valentine (a bad c drama, beware)
Something in the Rain
Just Between Lovers
Encounter
Run On...............
All of these have that more mature vibe and slow progression. I'll rewatch a bad show of the build up is good. Mmmm so good.

Amazing short drama that is 100% worth the watch. Unique love story without the BS melodrama.
I really enjoyed this short succinct drama. I have a short attention span and have been skimming through a lot of dramas, but this show captivated me right away and I couldn't skim. I can't put my finger on it, but I really enjoyed the somber start and background music that set the tone just right. This drama is very unique and does not have a lot of melodrama and the same boring plots used in other dramas. The characters draw your interest from the start and the pace is good. Maybe I've seen to many melodramas in a row and this was a breath of fresh air but I really rate this drama highly. I enjoyed everything about it.
You have a ML who is smart, but his background is below average and he does not really have any friends; a FL who is a declining pop star due to her poor mental health; and a SFL who everybody likes, is smart, has a good background, and is outgoing. The leads grow closer and fill in each other's flaws through unexpected love as their back stories begin to unravel. It's a really good unique story.
The story itself makes sense and you can understand why the characters feel what they feel. The ML does not have much confidence in himself and lacks self-esteem which leads him to misunderstand people. The SFL does have feelings for him and if he took that step forward or was more forward they could have dated a long time ago. This is something that happens in real life often. Girls are simpler than you think and the ML's lack of self-esteem caused him to misinterpret situations or not take advantage of certain situations. Relationships can really be all about timing. The FL has daddy issues which is actually common, and her manager who she relied on and trusted abandoned her. When in reality, her manager only used her and did not really care about her. These two characters lives begin to mesh and they fill each other's gaps and begin to love each other. They start as friends and see each other's pain and help each other and through that find love.
It was nice seeing all these girls going after a ML as opposed to guys wooing a FL.
The cinematography and background music were amazing. This was a really well made series.

A very genuine introspection into the life of a K-pop idol
This is an artistic series, not a crowd pleaser. The characters are very well defined, however, the most impressive part is the psychology of the K-pop idol. This is not a "famous girl and ordinary boy" story. The series tries to make everyone understand what the difficulties of being a k-pop (or k-drama actor/actress, whatsoever) star in plenty of cases really are. I loved the miniseries to bits. It fits perfectly to my idea of romanticism as well as the idea of realism. To be a star, in all languages and on all meridians doesn't mean necessarily happiness. It may; but it may not. I am from Canada, but I really appreciate k-dramas. However, watching the weddings of some k-stars (Jang Na-Ra, Kang So-Ra, for example) and the fact that the non-celebrity spouse's face is hidden, as well as the most of them cannot really have girlfriends/boyfriends while young and working in this business, made me think a lot about the traumatizing life of idols. The movie is nice, but also realistic, doesn't matter what the others say. Plenty of people will complain about the ending :)) There is no other real possible ending! I strongly recommend it! It's beautiful, romantic and realistic. Was this review helpful to you?
Sparks all kinds of emotiona
Perfect ? idk how else to describe it.One of the best love stories in drama land this yr.
The whole drama was beautiful, the cinematography, the ost omg, the ost especially the one they ended with each ep?
From their meeting to falling in love to fighting for their love waa just good. They had fire chemistry, both sexual and just idk how else to say but spiritually.
The supporting cast was perfect. The lityle friendship group that they formes, the vibe and architecture of the house, perfect.
I also love how it wasnt dramatic like the love triangle, their separation, the whole drama was peaceful. Their live was peaceful.
I also just loved ira's character, she brought bright energy, comedy and fun to the drama, her and her friends.
Also this drama sparked and made me somehow remember about my own painful past and scars which lead to an 8 mins recording ( that i still havent sent which is what i was intending to do ) and soo much crying, i dont think i have cried like that b4.
Anyway, i really loved it, wished it was longer even though it was just perfect as 9 ep.

It was good until the ending came
At first i really liked it, the acting is perfect, and so is the plot, but as i came to the end, it kind of went down from it. shortly i wont really think to rewatch it, it is sad that the end ruined the good of the story. by the way it is my opinion and there are probably people who will think different from me.p.s why does it have to be 500 words 😭😭😭😭helppppp
