Stress free , country side rom- com Japanese BL

Among all the J BL's I've seen, this one has the cutest romantic moments and the most amusing characters. The series began well, with a promising story and characters. However, after episode 3, there is a little story development, but some good romantic moments.
Character :
Akira had minimal character development from the start of the series to the end. He remained as the hesitant guy till the very end of the series, and he would not have confessed if it hadn't been for the final act of the supporting characters. However, the actor who portrayed this character did a good job playing the character.

Without changing the ultimate goal of dating Minato San, Shin is the character I adored most in this series. He had good character development. The manner in which he is acquitted with Minato's past with Sakura Sensei is noteworthy. At last he got both his first love and his dream career.

Asuka is the most entertaining character in this series, and his presence is indisputable. Perfect tittle as a supporting role, he is one of the key push in Minatos' final confession. Even though they were brief, the interactions between Asuka and Suu Sensei were enjoyable.

Sakuma Sensei was an amazing teacher character. He This character inspired both of his students (Minato and Shin). He does a good job of handling Minato's previous kiss with him.

Sakurako is the caring sister and friend. She supports Shin's crush on Minato. She remains supportive when Asuka likes Suu Sensei, even when she is rejected by him.

Finally, I would recommend watching this series (a must-see). The ending is amazingly beautiful, and the chemistry between the actors is undeniable. Even the costumes are cool. The music is extremely catchy and enjoyable to watch. All the actors did a wonderful job.

I love this drama so much, but it is clearly not for everyone

Just because I love this so much, it doesn't mean this series is for everyone especially about the age-gap. For me, that is not the problem since Shin doesn't force himself as a child to reach out to Minato. He is waiting for 10 years to start.

At the age of 17, he shows up in front of Minato, asking to be a friend.
At the age of 18 when he is already legal, he asks Minato to be his boyfriend.

IMO, after the rejection until Minato finally comes clear with Sakuma Sensei, the story is dull. I didn't even rewatch those eps until I finally watch the final eps and decided to rewatch everything from eps 1.

The indecisive Minato was frustrating, but that is also what keeps me going. I always complained about his behavior but I couldn't leave him alone. Me everyweek: "COME ON DUDE PLEASE SHOW ME A DEVELOPMENT ON YOUR CHARACTER THIS EPS" :')

About their acting, this is Nishigaki Sho's first role as a main lead. For the manga reader like me, he represents Shin so well but a little bit brighter personality. In the manga, Shin has darker personality. He creeped me out sometimes (still read it, tho), but Shin in this drama is not. As a newbie, I think this is a good breakthrough for him.

As about Takuya, I am not into Bullet Train, so I barely knew him before haha but I actually already saw him acting in My Brother Loves Me Too Much and Our Dearest Sakura. Not that impressive. And even though I am not into Cherry Maho, I saw him there. I thought that he can pull the comedic thing. So, at first, it did not surprise me when he acted on funny scene. BUT WHEN HE CRIED, AND FRUSTRATED AND MAKING ME WANTED TO SLAP HIM BECAUSE OF MINATO'S INDECISIVENESS, I know he pulled this character well. He makes Minato more annoying in the drama than in the manga.

Okay, this is my first review. What else should I talk about?

Anyway, I'll rewatch this when I have more free time. I mean, it is considered long with 12 eps for japanese BL. I'm gonna miss the emotional dynamics I experienced when following this drama. Also, gonna miss them so bad bad bad. <3

will be in your list of comfort bls/ series. 10/10 rewatch value

japanese bls never miss to hit the spot does it. the music of the series is so cheerful you are gona hum it out of nowhere (kyuoto kyuoto kyuoto kyuoto). the story is very sweet and simple . not much drama involved , no vilanisation of any character. the side couples were also really interesting. one thing that is commendable is that all the characters in the show had a personality , non of them are flat 2D characters. the age gap might be an issue for some but come on we have seen couples with age difference irl a lot straight or gay but the point is its not our place to say what should have been done or not because their THEIR story and we are just viewers. and the whole concept was very appropriately portrayed. homophobia was not non existent either which we saw in Akira's case in the first few episodes. but its not impossible to find a bunch of good people around you like characters in this series , i myself have such good friends so i will buy that. one more thing which i liked about the series is that Shin choosing his proirities at the end regarding weather to study in local uni or in a tokyo uni, i really respect that. you dont always need to go to a big city to get your dreams and vice versa . Also throughout the series studies have been the priority of Shin and he have been motivated by everyone around him to study because thats reality, studies are important. all in all really comforting bl. you should watch it without zero percent hesitation. also i personally have been watching it weekly and i am really going to miss them . Akira san at the end of the episodes always asks to look forward to their story and in the final episode he said to keep minato shouji coin laundary in our hearts forever and i will do that bevause how good the show was . also , one more thing, the intro and outro are so good and especially the ones of the final episode , in the outro where everybody dances , really WHOLESOME.

A cute and charming show and premise, though needing a bit more push.

This was a really charming show. The show centers about around the age cap of our 2 protagonists, and the conflict that leads to. Our main lead Minato is around 10 years older than our other less Shin, and I love how this is a source of contention for him. Age gaps are fairly common in LGBTQ relationships, especially male-male ones.

You see the difference in how Minato handled it while Shin’s age and how Shin handles it. The juxtaposition is interesting to see and the hesitancy from our “old” lead makes sense throughout the show. The moments they have together are plentiful and cute.

Asuka and Sakurako are amazing side characters and there’s a lot of fun. I do admit at time Asuka and Minato felt like they had the most chemistry.

I do agree with other that he plot with the teacher, while he was a great guy, took a bit too much time, I would have preferred for internal conflict from our leads.

Still, one of my top BLs.

A BL which will always have a special place in your heart

If I'm being honest , I was waiting for this series to end so that I could bingewatch it in one go, but as usual social media is not a good place , and it irked my curiosity, so last week I decided to be like yessss, let's watch it , just one more episode left so I can wait.

I didn't have a lot of expectations from it but they outdid what I had ❤️ Every part of it , the story line , the plot was A class. Their acting is top notch, they made us cringe , second hand embarassment, you would laugh like crazy with them , cry with them , get angry with them , the angst is enough that you want to go inside the screen and shake the person and be like what are you doing????? Can't you see that???? Or you would want to pat their heads for trying 🥺 You just want to be there and have a place in that story .

You could feel Shin's emotions and also Akira's. Both of the characters are soooo relatable that you feel as if it's your story . Even the supporting roles added a lot of meaning to their story . This one week for episode 12 wait was a lot😭😭 I wished it was longer , I wished they had more. But I won't complain . I loved what they did to the series , and to add more would be dragging it , but maybe we could have had a special episode of what happens now in their story 🌸

I won't add spoilers because I want you all to go through the emotions that I did. It is that fluffy angsty story which will always have a special place in your heart ❤️

Everybody wants a Shin in their life , but you've got to be an Akira , to have him 🥺❤️

Not for everyone, but it is cute.

At first, the age gap made me worry. However, I found myself smiling after a few episodes because of how cute Shin is. I know Minato is kind of irritating sometimes, but I understand him. Perhaps, he is asexual(?). I think it would be interesting if he turned out to be asexual since he often panics and becomes stressed out every time Shin makes a move. This show is not for all, but I really like it. It became my comfort show because of its ambiance and I just love the background music. If you don't like aggressive young characters pursuing older men, then this is not for you.

Amaizing!

I watch this series while it was ongoing so I was a little impatient waiting for every episode. The series is really refreshing and cute. The fact that Shin (younger lead) is really bold in his feelings and the older guy is shy is really hilarious. Both actors portrayed their roles perfectly. The only think I didn't like is that the episodes were so short and that it took them so long to get together :(. But overall I love this series and I'm sure I'm gonna rewatch it <33333. (I forgot to add that the actors are really handsome :))

Beautifully Done

This was such a stunningly done BL. and is right up there with My Beautiful Man AND Kieta Hatsukoi for me.. the pacing was my major concern about the show but shin and minato have my heart... they had me all in my feels and the chemistry was off the chain.. my favorite character however was asuka... from his look to his vibe. everything about him drew me in and I really wish we see more of that actor as well in the future because he was really good. The finale was beautifully done and I'm happy he done not give up his future for a man cause he truly should be allowed to live his life an fulfil his goals.

Tom and Jerry to another level

guys, let me start with how those series start good, got me excited then dissapoint me either halfway thro the show or in the end, did we need 12 eps? no, this could be great with 6-7 eps max.
i enjoyed ep 1-ep4, then it started to drag from ep 5 to the end so i start to skip bits, a lot of scenes feel repetitive or filler scenes, and while im glad that Minato didnt immediately start dating Shin as he was underage, but the problem should be solved when he become legal right? the guy become legal while the other guy still playing hide and seek game, while in the first eps i felt he is adorable but later on it become really childish. i also question was he eventually going to accept Shin if his sensei didnt reject him/look disinterested to him? because it didnt seem like it, we can see he find Shin appealing physically since ep 1 but i feel that he doesnt really love him and that he just eventually gave up to him.
it was also annoying how it took forever before he was able to confront his sensei about the past, it took ages there..
while Shin was so pushy, usually i give a pass if its light, but he was kinda really pushy and it kept happening so frequently, he obviously is not the rapy type of person but a no is not enough to stop him, you need to end up pushing him for him to think "ok thats enough for today"
i mean should we give him a pass because he is young? just think of it, if the older guy was the one doing that everyone will be screaming about him taking advantage of a young boy, but since when its ok for young guys to be crossing the line like that?
im not talking about him wanting to court him but about him getting in his personal space, kissing his neck and feeling him up until Minato had to push him hard enough.. boy thats sexual harassment leaning so much to sexual assault as touching was involved, so..
of course im not saying all their moments are problematic ,there is a lot of sweet moments, i like how he take care of Minato when he is sick ,how he cook for him etc but this was dragged too much,i will give s2 a chance as well

Deeper than first thoughts

A teenage boy has developed strong feelings of love for his home room teacher and on graduation day kisses him then shocked at his actions runs away. We learn he has no siblings and his parents aren't mentioned he appears to have had no one to help him understand and process his love for this older man. Taboos of being gay, person in authority and age gap has seared this information in his mind such that we meet him 10 years on and as the story unfolds we realise Minato Akira is still stuck in this young mindset.

Katsuki Shintaro is a teenage boy who has strong feelings of love for this laundromat manager and we meet him as a 17 going on 18 year old who has decided he needs to declare his feelings. Katsuki Shintaro is a mature person who has been the adult for his younger siblings and he has a very straightforward clear way of thinking and acting.

The shows dynamics revolve around these differences.
Minato Akira cannot accept his feelings for the young man and tries to keep their relationship at a platonic level. Katsuki Shintaro is resolved to wear him down with many acts of kindness and caring. He is quite self sacrificing and ultimately it is a smart move to encourage Minato Akira to confess his unresolved feelings for his old teacher.

Both actors are attractive and have lovely chemistry. Minato Akira is suitably naïve and easily shocked, whilst Katsuki Shintaro seems wiser than his years with an 18 year olds clear eyed determination.
Lovely and touching to watch as this healing relationship helps Minato Akira finally accept.
I feel this has definitely rewatch value.

This one was pretty cute!

I didn't know what to expect exactly from this drama, but I can say that it was a pleasant discovery!

In terms of story, the premise is actually not very exciting - it's about a man who decides to live a peaceful life as the sole owner of a coin laundromat, and about a high schooler who starts to hang out at said laundromat every day. What I believe makes this series much more interesting as it goes on lies in the character dynamics, their introspection and their slow but steady development.
Shin is at his last year of high school, and he's a delightful mix of mature and youthful personality traits: he's responsible with his duties and takes good care of the people surrounding him, even when he doesn't really like them, but he's also very passionate about what (and who) he likes and never afraid of being straightforward and honest with his feelings.
Akira is comfortable in his skin at first sight, but it's also a comfort that he created by building a wall around his feelings: he can be affectionate with other people, but he also makes sure to draw a clear line so that nobody crosses it, not even himself. For this same reason he'd rather hide what he actually feels and put on a facade.
As the story goes on, we can clearly see how both of them influence each other's attitudes in a positive way. Shin gradually learns to compromise and to accept things that he doesn't like for the sake of the people he loves, while Akira slowly comes out of his shell and comes to terms with the painful events of his past, as well as the feelings he has in the present. The feelings they have for each other take time to fully bloom, but the result couldn't be more satisfying in my opinion.
I was half expecting to hate the secondary characters, but I actually ended up loving most of them. Even the secondary couple, while not explored as much as I would've liked, was very cute. The only character I wouldn't say I liked was the fujoshi, as I saw both her and the events tied to her as pure fanservice.
I can't recommend this series if you're looking for steamy love scenes, as there isn't any. If you're looking for a cute slow burn romance, make sure to watch this one!
