Seeing the quality production and emphasis on the philosophical discourse rather than romance, I see all the lost potential of "A moment but forever!"
Also why is AMBF not referenced as the prequel to Fate Chooses You? Even if it was imperfect at least it gives a glimpse of what triggered the current situation and to the life of the goddess WuShuang.

But the goddess WuShuang is in AMBF, 1000y before, the boat we see in the desert was in the first drama and crashed due to an attack thats why we see it in the middle of nowhere.

@Lili Goddes ascended 1000 years ago. In AMBF it was also a while ago that the goddess ascended. The ship can be any ship, not exactly the one that fell from the sky in AMBF., may be it was the ship that was built by the goddess personally.
There are more important facts:
- the stair to the heaven are still broken, in AMBF they appeared again at the end
- Meishan Jun is still very young (18 yo), in AMBF he is hundred years old
- in the gallery there is a photo of LXY with a chain on his neck, exactly how it was at the beginning of AMBF.
I believe the wushuan sociaty will manage to bring the goddess wushuan knowledge to the central plains and people learn how to build those ships again. and that is what we will see in AMBF

This is related to "Fate Chooses You" drama, as it shows the fox priest who, in the celestial war (war between gods and demons), defeated the war demon clan and saved the world. The war demons are the main enemies of the fox clan, but they later become friends. The goddess Wushuan is mentioned in Fate Chooses You when they speak of the artisan goddess, and mentions the clan of artisans who created the flying ship and other artifacts. Both "A Moment But Forever" and "Fate Chooses You" mention the closed celestial ladder of the gods and its consequences.

I thought so too. But after watching the last episode of Fate choose you, Zi Fei from the Fox clan (one character from AMBF said) "at least we know there is a perfect war ghost IN THIS WORLD". Sounded like there is more then one world. (ep 40 time 10:18) So its more parallel Universes with several timelines. So erverything must be not in chronological order... just one silly hypothesis I like.

It was way better than the other two franchises. I watched "Love of a Thousand Years" a few years ago, and I was thoroughly disappointed with the Zao Lusi character, and I still can't bear to watch her drama due to the stupidity of her role in that drama. "A moment But Forever" was destroyed because of the old CGI; it was unwatchable. Thankfully, this one was amazing with brilliant cast, storyline and side characters. They didn't drag it. Though the ending could have been better with the glimpse of their afterlife together, the ending was still satisfying.

"A Moment But Forever" was wonderful; the message is profound, and the characters develop well. It's a drama where I first saw a goddess with the attitude, power, and action of a goddess. And she perfectly complemented Yuan Zhong (a conflicted and charming mix); he chose the path of good and overcame the evil that was trying to transform his heart. The scene in the sea of consciousness with the dragon and the scene of him on the bridge about to destroy the world (besides the boat scene and others) are memorable. Beyond the mix and new concept for me (of a goddess of craftsmanship), Liu Xue Yi was great as an almost-god, about to become one (the fox priest hero of his people who was treated as an outcast), but his resentment didn't conquer his heart. (The message of this drama is powerful). And besides that, he won a best actor award in a fantasy drama, which is quite an achievement, and watching the drama, you see that LXY deserved the award.
PS: Besides the action scenes, which are also great.
(The drama starts slow but develops its story beautifully).

To confirm just watch the prolog of the first episode of FCY. It does not say AMBF but shows the story the war ghost tribe in the distant past, THAT is the story of AMBF...

@Slim Xtra I thought AMBF came first too, but it is after FCY. AMBF takes place about 20 years after RCY. It was confirmed when Yuan Zhong (ML of AMBF) showed up near the end of ep 39. He just recently got out of the cave (his prison for the past 40 years). He still had the "chain" around his neck. What confused me about the timeline was his white hear. He did not have white hair in AMBF.

Following the finale of this, it’s FCY, AMBF and the LoTY. He doesn’t know the name of wusheng goddess here. Although I can’t remember the ending of ABF and the whole war demon strive doesn’t make much sense if they’ve all been killed off before FCY. Maybe the ML has tonnes and tonnes of war demon kids and the tribe rises again… 😂
The end of LoTY he dissipates so that has to be the last one since his alias appears in the other two shows.
So it’s like we learn about the universe in reverse order from the release dates!
Or they didn’t think about all the continuity till the end of this one because they weren’t promoted as being connected to each other till now.

A Moment But Forever(AMBF) plays in the same Universe created by the same writer. But it is nothing as a prequel! Otherwise it would have been promoted as such and it would have been shown in the MDL drama description. You don't need to know AMBF to watch and understand this drama. AMBF plays in the past of Fate chooses you and some characters have a special appearance here. You may watch AMBF to get a better understanding of motives but you don't need to. Every motive is thoroughly explained here.

The events of "A Moment But Forever" take place after "Fate Chooses You." Yuan Zhong hasn't even met the goddess Wushuang yet (in the book, he met a fierce woman from the War Ghost Clan, but in the drama Fate Choses you, they introduced a past love from his, before he met the goddess Wushuang, from the Fox Clan itself).
That collar around his neck is a magical prison, like an electronic leash; this is before "A Moment But Forever," which tells how he managed to free himself from this prison with the help of the goddess Wushuang.

There is no season 2, but the youhu clan is reference for A moment but forever drama and the painter is from Love You Thousand times, they are the same universe, already aired. You can try a moment but forever, it has wushuang society, engineering and philosophy as well.

"A Moment But Forever" is the direct sequel to "Fate Chooses You," but it aired earlier (in 2025). However, it's not a second season because it doesn't feature the same characters, but the events belong to the same universe, and the characters live in the same reality.

Li Mei Shan is very young in Fate Chooses You and thousands of years old in A Moment But Forever, which already suggests an absurd passage of time between the two stories.
At the end of Fate Chooses You, Yuan Zhong (Liu Xue Yi) is searching for his goddess without even truly knowing what she looks like. Meanwhile, in A Moment But Forever, Yuan Zhong seems to have already encountered Ji Tanyin/Wushuang (Tiffany Tang) multiple times in the past, I've only watched once so forgive me if I'm mistaken (I believe one of those encounters happened while she was trapped in ice and he was still in the form of a young fox, and another when he was already a young man and she appeared before him wearing a veil). On top of that, by the end of A Moment But Forever, the two of them have already been in a relationship together, while Yuan Zhong remains waiting for her return.
Fu Jiu Yun (Zhen Ye Cheng), who appears across all three dramas, seemingly reaches his definitive conclusion in Love of Thousand Years (with Zhao Lusi. I've watched twice, it's an awesome drama 🩷), so my assumption is that this story takes place after the other two dramas.3 Reply

yeah episode 40 really shows this is the end of like the first act of the overall story it just about him becoming the demon the future looks like it will be hunting down the main villain who just appeared in episode 40 in like the last scene, which we will probably never see as I think a season 2 is never happening.

There were hints before. Like MeiShan Jun is a huge hint by himself. He is only 18 is his shown and in A Moment but Forever he is hundreds of years old. Also the stairs to heaven are still broken and in AMBF they appeared at the end

An observation for those who watched both FCY and AMBF:
In FCY I thought it was hilarious when Yuan Zhong was telling the FL to chase after the ML. He said to go after the ML even if he runs. Be thick skinned and persistent in her chase. This is the same technique Ji Tayin/goddess Wushuang used towards Yuan Zhong in AMBF, during their initial relationship. He didn't trust her, so was always trying to get away from her. She insisted she will stay with him forever.

I love this part. It is the same writer as AMBF after all so it made sense she purposely put that part. As well as Yuan Zhong saying I don't know which in line with his character in AMBF.
