This story is Wild!

Many may not fully grasp the depth of this drama upon first viewing, but "Queen of Tears" encapsulates a poignant message: love means protecting those dear to us, regardless of their nature or station in life. This theme resonates powerfully throughout the narrative, particularly in the portrayal of a mother who forsakes her son in pursuit of wealth and influence which causes a problem for Baek Hyun Woo. The series serves as a poignant reminder that while wealth may be sought after, insatiable greed for it can exact a heavy toll, endangering not only one's own life but also the lives of those cherished.

Kim Soo Hyun's return to the screen as Baek Hyun Woo, the Attorney, marks a stellar performance, showcasing his acting prowess since his last appearance that I viewed him in 2020. As a dedicated follower of his work since his early guest roles in 2012, I've consistently admired his talent, and he doesn't disappoint in this role. Likewise, Kimin Ji Won, whom I adored as Tan Ya in the "Articles of Chronicles" series, delivers another remarkable performance as Hong Hai In, seamlessly embodying her character with echoes of her previous roles. Their contributions elevate the drama, leaving a lasting impression on viewers.

Oddly fatiguing

The Good:
✅ The extraordinarily good acting performances by everyone in the important roles
✅ The leads & the second couple (FL's brother + wife) too had good chemistry.
✅ There were a few really fun episodes. (e7 especially)
✅ The fluffy & bickery parts were good & briefly excellent even.
✅ Yoon Bomi is still amazing.

The Average:
🟡 Beom Ja & her beau
🟡 The elderly
🟡 The ending (could have been worse, but I'm not amazed)
🟡 While the character rewrites made the drama more enjoyable, it's never good when the writer is unwilling to do characterization sanely.
🟡 The OST is really on the boring side.

The Bad:
❌ The drama is much too long. (the average episode length is 1h25m & getting through some of the episodes really had been a slog)
❌ The second ML is a 2005 era cartoon villain. (you know those teary eyed Makjang roaches)
❌ "That" woman is also a 2005 era cartoon villainess.
❌ The triangle (at least FL rejected most of the advances, so could've been worse)
❌ The worst kind of amnesia trope (second ML takes advantage)
❌ All the corporate plots..
❌ .. and the plot in general (There is an immersion breaking amount of unhinged in the final 3rd of the show)
❌ Both leads were really bad apples early on before their character rewrites. (ML's actions are positively awful)
❌ I felt relieved when it was finally over.

Amazing Kdrama

It's simply beautiful. An incredible show that you will not regret seeing, the story and its characters are incredible. From beginning to end, I cried a lot with this drama and fell in love with its characters, especially Hae In and Hyunwoo, the protagonists. I am going to miss this drama very much, I think that during all this time, I formed a connection with them that is impossible to leave... That shows the talent that this cast had to create tremendous work of art! Te amo Queen Of Tears ❤️❤️

What a perfect K-Drama!

It wasn't just a drama; it was a rollercoaster of emotions with just the right amount of humor and a perfect cast.

Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won were the perfect leads for the drama and the best couple; they deserve an award for their acting. I wouldn't even be surprised if they announced that they were a couple because their chemistry was soooo good.
Park Sung Hoon perfectly portrayed THE anti-hero; I think everybody hated him just because his character was so detestable (It just proves that his acting is good and I agree).
QOT was so well-written; every little thing had consequences, and the screenwriters really played with us!
And the OST... even after finishing the drama, I just want to rewatch it; please take me back to Queens Mall!

There's nothing negative to say about this drama; I completely understand why it had such a large audience.

I might have wanted a bit more explanation on certain things (such as Mo Seul Hee's origins and motivations on the Queens family, etc...) and especially more scenes on the different couples like Hong Beom Ja and Young Song, or even on the spouses of the ML’s brother and sister...

the best K-Drama of 2024

It's definitely the best K-Drama of 2024.
Talking about the character of the villain Yoon Eun-Seong. It was a very well-developed historical construction. A villain who, in essence, is not created to be hated but pitied. From the beginning to the end of the drama, Eun-Seong dedicated himself to doing the best he could, the best he knew and learned how to do. A character who grew up with a very strong trauma of abandonment and rejection, always on the margins and forgotten, living in the shadows, praying to be remembered by his mother figure. He spent his life developing a very strong identity crisis, basing himself on a perfect image in order to be recognized by his obsession, our dear protagonist Hong Hae-In, and also by his mother. In addition, he has had to confront his greatest enemy, not the protagonist Baek Hyun-Woo, but himself. And every time Eun-Seong had to face the fact that Hyun-Woo was ahead, he felt even more inferior and lost. In the end, the story of our villain himself is a real drama. The result of an accumulation of childhood traumas and distorted self-image. Yoon Eun-Seong, you should never have felt so inferior, you never lacked anything that was left over in your classmate, you just lacked therapy (k).
The script for the main couple Hong Hae-in and Baek Hyun-Woo is designed to be relatable. If, for a moment, we put aside all the ramifications of the story and focus only on the couple, we spend the whole drama identifying with one context or another of the moment they lived through

the best of 2024 and one of the best of all time

this is the kind of drama that will forever be marked on me. being anxious of waiting each episode, the crazyness in the fanbase, the attachment to these characters. im very grateful to have lived through all of this. i cant put in words what i felt & feel abt everything involved in this drama. the 8 week journey ended & i said goodbye with sadness but still with a heart full of love. queen of tears & baekhong will forever be in my heart.

kim jiwon & kim soohyun have once again proven to be one of the best in the industry. their performance here is PHENOMENAL, breathtaking, worthy of many awards. it was a privilege to be able to watch these two together on screen.

it was definitely worth watching.

I missed this type of melodramatic kdramas

kdramas lacks solid writing and it is more based on webtoon nowadays, qot had its flaws but it was a solid writing that's why I enjoyed and was willing to let some plot holes and other things slide cuz we don't get that anymore in kdramas qot reminded me why I love kdramas
The acting was wonderful kimsohyun and KimJiWon were not only pleasing to the eyes but the acting was amazing more good actors plz am tired pretty faces only
I haven't been able to watch kdramas for 3yrs but qot broke my kdrama slump

I guess I'm one of those people who need someone to root for

This incredible cast was wasted. I'm so disappointed. I had high hopes. That first episode with Kim Soo Hyun being drunk and crying about being cute, I thought, "This show is going to be so good!!" The first episode didn't hook me, but I thought for sure it was just a slow start and would get better.

Well, after 6 episodes, it was a complete slog. I tried. I really, really did. It took me 5 days to finish episode 6, I kept finding reasons to do other things. Not even Kim Soo Hyun could keep me engaged, and that makes me so sad. This was his first drama in YEARS. I feel cheated.

The issue was the story, I think...
Actually, I'm not sure. The overall story was interesting. I'll probably look up a spoiler review to find out what happens.

You know what I think the problem was? I had no one to root for. I didn't *like* anyone except the villain (and I only liked the villain because his scenes didn't put me to sleep). I didn't care what happened to any of the other main characters, they were so boring. I probably would've ended up rooting for the bad guy if I'd continued (because at least he was entertaining to watch).
Oh well.

I hope Kim Soo Hyun's next drama is better. :-\

Very disappointing in the end

This Drama started so well, and got me invested but became boring in the end.
Super cast, loved the cameos, and the story... but seriously, this could have been wrapped up in 12 episodes (or less).

Some arcs, no one really cared and could have done without, the villains were laughable at the end, it's like they had superpowers... and the token car accidents, kidnapping, poisoning... nothing really new there.

The only nice moments were the lead's cute moments together, which we did not get to see much of at the end unfortunately. The story didn't dwell on things too long the first half and I was so hopeful... but then it dragged on, and on, and on.... no twists to keep us on our toes, and not enough "cute" to keep us invested.

All in all, a disappointment

Idk .. The Ending ??

this drama was nice, it could have been better but for the most part it was a cute and at times sad drama. the romance was nice although it did take some pushing and pulling for them to get somewhere but even so their relationship was cute. the drama surely left an impression on me though i don't know if i'd watch it again but i know one thing for sure and that is, the casting was perfect, and the main leads were gorgeous. there acting was nice .. i'm just .. idk about the end

there is nothing wrong with the end it's just i think the producers should have mentioned a bit more things and added a little but more to the story before killing them both off but for what it was i liked it. i think yall would like it too if your into romance with a sad/ happy ending

Classic K-drama style

April 2024
I love the cast, which drew me more than the plot, so I wasn't sure it would have me watching in one go (or if I'd even like it and end up dropping). Wrong.
The series has a mix of melodrama, kept from being hard work by some genuinely hilarious moments, with plenty of tension, very good acting by all and a bit of action.
It feels quite 'K-drama classic' in style; think a lot of arm grabbing, and pulling out the way of oncoming dangers, with a little reality being thrown to the wind at times, for thrills/tension purposes.
The characters are also the classic dysfunctional Chaeybol family (a mix of greedy, cold, slightly crazy, inept, naive/not bright, and disappointing/soft heir) and country farming folk.
The evil characters really are and very well acted (well done especially, Lee Mi-Suk), not OTT at all.
The 2 Kims make great leads; they are such good actors and I really liked their chemistry. There were some weak moments in the script, but with them at the helm, I actually wasn't that bothered!
I loved seeing Song Joong-ki in his cameo role, and the way he is described by Hyun-woo's lawyer best friend, using all characters SJK has played in the past, is a touch of brilliance!
Even though there were a couple of eye rolling moments for me, I actually loved this. I unexpectedly binge watched and then decided to wait for final ep before completing, again binging to the end and going to bed at silly o'clock.
The OST is lovely too.
I would certainly recommend it!

exciting and spectacular, the best drama of 2024

WONDERFUL!" • "Sensational, on par with Landing on Love!" • "A unique drama that made me cry and laugh!" • “Queen of tears lives up to her title, all kinds of emotions run through our eyes” • “The protagonist Hae-in is stunning and her personality is passionate, we all end up enchanted by her.” Behind the armor of strength and independence lies a vulnerable and sensitive heart. Scarred by past traumas, Hae-in fights her inner demons and desperately searches for acceptance and love. It is in this contrast between strength and fragility that the true beauty of this character lies. You will follow the journey of an extraordinary woman who will make you laugh, cry and reflect on life. An unforgettable character that will remain marked in your heart. definitely the best K-Drama of 2024.
