Revenge set in the late 1940s that later leads to love.
Both sides of the revenge are rootable and you cannot help but be torn about who you want to "win". A worthy watch with great leads, beautiful emotional OST in an elegant backdrop with its even more elegant leads.

STORY
Very fascinating story set up where the enemy lives under the same roof, where revenge agendas are directly revealed to the enemy rather than an undercover sort of revenge (unlike typical revenge stories in that regard), where characters interactions hold many layers, where themes of justice and morality are explored.
Here we have the shallowness of the rich who judge each other by status, yet the shallow polite first impressions they give each other and the viewer are later removed, unveiling their true character. Who at first was introduced as a neutral character may be darker than expected, while some may hide under a darker mask than their true nature. This unveiling of character is an interesting watch.
As a warning, the women in this drama are very stupid and irritating, it's only the female lead that's rootable and not a complete idiot. Later on, the idiocy of some characters becomes a farce, you can no longer take that part of the story seriously; however this doesn't affect the main leads too much so it doesn't ruin the story.

A great set up, but the execution falls short, still manages to be good, yet there was something missing. I felt like some of the pacing was off, with story beats that should've played out differently which would've made it all so much better. The very first episode was excellent 9.0-9.5 range material that immidetaly made made root for the three leads (female lead, male led and female lead's brother), but after that, the story didn't run as smoothly and dragged in some parts. The 10 year old boy also had way too many scenes, I'd rather they'd given the sister's adult brother more focus as well as more scenes to the OTP.
It was interesting to see the multilayered scenes where many characters were keeping secrets, those moments and the scenes between the OTP had the depth and automitically makes you analyze the character actions and their morality.Overall a deliciously very dark tone, but had a few funny moments too. Only a very few though, so stay away from this if you don't like dark plots/dark tone. The humor in this drama is more dark and farsical.

ACTING / CAST
The male and female lead casting was perfection, they truly suited each other as well as their respective characters. And the casting of the brother of the female lead was really great too. He was even likable in his evil moments, something which not many actors manage to pull off. Those three really made the story,  it's the reason I gave this lakorn an overall rating of  8.5 and not 8.0.
There was three really handsome men in the cast that very great as eye-candies, however they were also great in the acting department. The 10 year old boy character was annoying and had way too many scenes.

MUSIC
A really great emotional and beautiful track, but cannot give a full 10 in rating the music, only because while the music itself was great, they didn't UTILISE it in the right way.
Rather than playing different parts of the same song to vary it up, they kept playing the same part over and over, lessening the impact of the otherwise great song, even making it too repetetive. Especially a dramatic, emotional track like that isn't suited to be blasted in that overt manner, it only lessens its impact. They could've had more music tracks to play too for variation and better impact.

REWATCH VALUE
Don't take my rating of this aspect too seriously, I'm not that into rewatching dramas. Some of the character interactions where they're keeping secrets from each other could be rewatched and the OTP scenes, allthough those two should've had more moments together.

Great OTP, Females-centric & Sismances

STORY
An angel ML who has to create 4 couples or else!...

A really well-written romcom story with fantasy element, with 4 Leading ladies in focus,
that hooks from ep 2.
The main couple is extremely cute together and very entertaining to watch with their banter and hate-to-love situation; the other couples are good bonuses.

What really stands out above other dramas is, beside the Great OTP, the AMAZING SISTERHOOD BOND between the 4 sister leads.

Of the couples, the main OTP gets the best romantic couple writing, and is the realistic slowburn type that makes you really root for their romance.
Very entertaining watch and never boring or draggy, expect hilariously awkward moments, sweet moments and females being very good to each other.

This is a very fun drama, yet also has it's more deep and angsty moments.
NO slap&kiss lakorn, YOU WILL BE SPARED FROM IT HERE XD
but just very fun, romantic and great females as leads.

ACTING/CAST
Main leads/OTP is very lovable, but ALL of the ensemble multi-couples cast will go to your heart.
The fun banter acting between the main OTP is really entertaining to watch and they also show realistic chemistry once they start to fall for each other.
The chemistry between the 4 leading lady sisters is very sweet and lovely to watch #SismanceGoals

MUSIC:
I barely even remember what music it had or even if it had any music at all lol. So nothing special and totally forgettable.

REWATCH VALUE
I'm not usually into rewatching dramas, but this was so fun & well-written I actually might (or probably actually will) rewatch this one day.

Great life lesson for all ages, but VERY slow paced

It's NOT Too late to fulfill a dream

Great plot worth to watch, although for me personally this was waaaaaaaaaaay too slowpaced, so I had a hard time to finish it, despite liking the plot, so I can only give it a 7/10 rating.

People should watch it to get encouragement to boldly do things, follow your wishes, start over etc.

The friendship between the young 20s man and the much older 70 year old man was really heart-touching too. They both learned and grew from each other. I cried alot. Already since ep 1.

Finally, but not the least, it's great to have a kdrama where narrow gender roles aren't followed and two men are not too scared to do ballet, their passion.

AVERAGE story & chem. BORING.

6.5 / 10.

For such high praise by others, I expected much more.
But HJM's ONE SPRING NIGHT remains much better.

This one had PACING ISSUES. Too much FILLER. The office cases where boring.
And the couple's Connection?
Just AVERAGE. Maybe because they wrote the ML as TOO PERFECT, didn't feel like they truly opened up to each other, showing their flaws...

Very AVERAGE DRAMA.
Their chemistry is Mid too. They look good together visually is all, and going by their Magazine Photos Chem, I expected better chemistry in the drama lol

And the OST?? SIGH. The Music DIDN'T EVEN suit the drama and scenes?? Rather than improve the scenes, it distracted me from them??

Wholesome & Touching!: Family/ComingOfAge/Romcom!

Expected just a cute fluffy typical family jdorama/romcom.

But I ended up crying alot lol, not necessarily sad tears, drama had many Touching Moments.
9/10.

Great as both family drama, growth story for female lead/coming of age and a cute romcom. Drama had it all, and the ending was just perfect, perfect profession for FL too. 😍

Editing ruined Immersion, noone to root for

Creating FAKE DRAMA & Triangles...Made it so there was NO ROOTABLE PAIRINGS.
Should've stuck with focusing on the pair that actually ended up dating.

Also when 3 new guys competed to join later.....Kept only 1, so ruined a potantailly interesting pairing in the process. Massive mistake not to keep all 3.

Ended up DISLIKING MOST OF CAST & PAIRINGS. Not because of them themselves, but by the Editing and Fake drama that made MOST OF EVERYONE JUST ANNOYING.

WORST SEASON so far.

INSPIRING and Healing: Get over your RUT

A woman enlivens her boring life by going on DAYTRIPS every weekend.

A simple kdrama, yet inspiring message: To live more boldly and adventurously...Does not require LONG TRIPS, nor a lot of money.

Simple short trips can be healing too.

Lee Na Young does a wonderful job as lowkey woman, the Audience Surrogate who travels every weekend, as such the embodies the EVERYDAY WOMAN in such a natural fashion, no artifice.

The kdrama is encouraging the viewers to embrace the Wonder of HAPPENSTANCE / SERENDIPITY.
:
By NOT planning, and impulsively travelling without destination to nearby locations and neighboring towns and cities....One can heal ones mind.
EMBRACE THE SMALL RANDOMNESS, WHERE ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN.

Beautiful story about Love Realities when Disabled

With brilliant lead pair, who have had the best chemistry of 2024, interesting & talented support cast as well,
and unusual themes where #Death was talked about.

It's a HEALING JOURNEY, where 2 people heal and love each other.

Highly rewatchable.
Gorgeous cinematography and Stunning OST, created an breathtaking immersion.

Spouses loving again getting BURIED under FILLER & Makjang

Ep 1-7: Deserves rating 5/10

Ep 8 - 16. Deserves 7.5 /10

The 2nd half is where the somewhat interesting story starts.

Final rating: 6.5 or 7.0

CLARIFICATION: I LIKE MAKJANG. It just didn't work here, it made the Spousal Reconnection Cheaper & unrealistic.

Somewhere along the way there was a story somewhat worth watching, but WHY DID I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL 2ND HALF TO FIND IT?!?

.....Also 90% of drama was FILLER SCENES, drama suffered PACING ISSUES FROM HELL,
So any interesting story GOT BURIED beneath being BORED OUT OF MY MIND 90% Of the time.

DRAMA SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN 1,5h eps, it made it mostly just filler!!!

So:
GOOD THINGS:
+2nd half story
+ 2nd lead's romance
+ The Lovable Aunt
+ The story of Spouses learning to love each other again
+ Rich & poor family Stuck together in funny scenes and learning to get along and bond

BAD THINGS:
- Pacing
- Episode length
- The story of Spouses learning to love each other again getting BURIED between all the useless Scenes and pacing issues and becoming Unrealistic when mixed with all the Makjang

Amazing Story made BORING, worth to watch in 2x Speed & Skips

Centered on Male Lead's Innovation:
Interesting AI device containing not only the voice of the person it's copying, but also the person's personality & memories.

What if you could TALK with the voice of a dead loved one, find out through their Memories what they truly thought and felt in past throughout various past moments??

Very interesting intersection of AI + Death, Memories and Healing...

But the slooooooooooooooooow pace unfortunately takes out 90% of the enjoyment, even with sped up watching speed and skips...
(I had to begin skipping since ep7, couldn't take it anymore)
So I can only ever give this one a 7/10, despite VERY interesting plot and the Sweet Love story of our Leads.
The Cinematography & directing is absolutely STUNNING though.

Plot idea 10/10
Pacing 1/10
Directing & Cinematography 10/10
Music 10/10

..........
Also the SYNOPSIS on MDL is SUPER UNCLEAR!
Here's a better Plot Description for this Kdrama:

PLOT:
ML is an AI Programmer, currently working on a
Mysterious Device, which will perfectly emulate a
real person's voice: It can save a Person's VOICE
AND talk about+/Hold conversations with the user, while answering Questions from the memory of the
person it's emulating.
FL is a sound engineer.
These two meet in the recording studio they both
rent at different times.

Enter Jisoo: The girl ML grew up together with in
Norway as the only 2 koreans in that area "We spoke each others's language", but she suddenly later as
adults chose to dump him suddenly.

FL: Why sound recordings?
ML: Sound or photographs... Both work just as well to keep a memory.
ONE WORD, Just a PIECE OF THEIR MIND...Can bring comforts/Be the only thing that makes one go on.

AS ML reminisces about Jisoo... FL gets emotionally invested in their story and involves herself.
FL: "Some people when you first meet them...Leave
such a strong impression that you remember them
forever. Some can walk up a hill in such a way..." (Her 1st meeting with Jisoo).
FL impression of Jisoo: I love that girl!
FL impression of ML: I love that guy!
....
Later: FL n ML connected by dead Jisoo, talking together w. AI Voice Jisoo

For fans of WHO GOT MARRIED, THE BACHELOR, similar dating game shows, or of THE GREATEST LOVE / THE PRODUCERS / WORLDS WITHIN.
Basically anyone who enjoys seeing the romantic lives of celebrities, or of ordinary people in front of cameras and how fans react to the celeb couple. Fame combined with love. However this drama is also about the warmth, sincerity and relationships between people in a close-knit village. For people who love to root for underdogs.

.....or for anyone who enjoys a GREAT OTP/leads. For fans of Romance stories.

STORY
The MOST IMPORTANT aspect of any story, and the STRONGEST POINT of this lakorn.
Thai lakorns can never reach a 10, lakorns overall low quality compared to Kdrama. There was alot of loopholes/not perfect writing BUT this is still very much a recommended thai lakorn watch! Any drama even if lakorn deserves a 8.5 if it can make me become this addicted to it.
1st ep buildup was a pain but addicted from ep 2 already ALL THE WAY to the end. The small village with its warmth and the OTP who stole my heart. A Romcom but with dramatic aspects, the last few eps seemed almost like a light melodrama. Lovely plot idea, the hidden cameras that secretly broadcasted the village and the OTP  as reality TV lol

ACTING / CAST
While the ACTING itself could've been better (like in many thai lakorns and even kdramas/asian dramas unfortunately) the CASTING itself was PERFECT. Not only was the OTP suitable to each other but very suited to their lead roles. And the rest of the cast was on point too, I ended up caring for all characters in that village as well the the King and Kong duo.
The best acting from the leads/OTP, and while not the BEST acting itself from the rest of the cast everyone managed to still somehow charm with their characters. This is very much a character and relationships driven show. Even "annoying" characters ended up being somehow cute in their annoyingness. Eventually you get used to the ridiculous humor and the ridiculous characters.
Features one of the BEST FEMALE LEADS in all of Asian dramas. She was not only brave, stood up for herself and for others but was still vulnerable. She was extremely kind-natured yet without being a pushover. She didn't just pretend to be tough with a tough exteriour, she really was a strong lead. Sometimes hid her feeling but knew eventually how to open up. The male lead was weak though but even he eventually manned up, just wish it'd had been sooner.
Now I've become a fan of the female lead actress Cherry, she is the star of the show.
BONUS points to this lakorn for featuring GAY and BI (supporting) characters.

MUSIC
Beside the occasionally thrilling melodrama/thriller esque music, absolutely nothing special. Not bad enough to distract from the plot either. Some parts of the lyrics in fact really fit the plot, but otherwise just lame forgettable, plain bad music. Better music would've made it even more enjoyable but oh well it was good without music enhancement. Would prefer though that they'd used better music.
....1 point for music overall HOWEVER...
....Bonus points for the HILARIOUSLY over-dramatic music at not SO dramatic moments, parodying melodramas. Absolutely hilarious!

REWATCH VALUE
Don't take my rating of this aspect too seriously, I'm generally not a fan of rewatching, not even of good drama.
Overall not much reason to rewatch, but could rewatch some sweet moments of the village people and their warm community. The OTPs scenes I'd say are very rewatchable since they're so cute.

Immersive well-acted Melodrama Romance

An athmosperic stunning Enemies-to-lovers Romance, but not for everyone. (People who dislike sad plots stay away!).

Male lead who has revenge vendetta against Female lead...but despite this, both can't help but be drawn to each other.

The acting really stands out, especially Shin Min Ah's performance was unbeliavbly raw and real. Rain did fantastic as well as the downthrodden revenging cold lead who falls for his enemy.

Beautifully directed, which increases immersion...
The OST is one of the best Kdrama OSTs I've heard, which increases immersion further.

The Atmosphere and music of the drama remains with me now still YEARS LATER.

Not for Cosmopolitan people, normalizes Stagnation

I couldn't relate to this drama.
I found the overall life philosophy all wrong.
I've been thinking what exactly I found wrong:

Romantizising sacrifice and being an eternal victim. Martyrdom Complex.
Especially normalizing women sacrifizing all for family.
Normalizing giving up dreams rather than AT LEAST trying to move forward EVEN A LITTLE.

A drama about STAGNATION and Anti-selfgrowth.

To me life is about moving forward and improving your circumstances, not accepting your circumstances.
Even if the process is slow and hard, it's much better than this ETERNAL VICTIMHOOD this drama disgustingly praises...

EXPLORATION, rather than just being stuck in a small island all life....
This drama is definitely not for more cosmopolitan city people or multiligual people who enjoy travel...
Drama more for people who grew up in small towns similarly to the leads...

Interesting MINI-DOCUMENTARIES

Each ep is 15 minutes x 4 Documentaries.
15 Minute Documentaries about Various Topics, each has "Mystery" as common topic.

From rumors about a mysterious timetraveller in 1800s, to Mysterious behaviour of visiting racists to change their views......Highly Engaging.

Great immersion through Dramatic editing & acting, voiceovers.
