✨My Journey with Asian dramas:

✅I grew up with Asian dramas. My journey started around late 1990s and early 2000s. Most of the stuff I watched back then were probably old classics that every Asian would watch at that time. A lot of them are not on MDL, so I just add the ones that I remember and can find here. :)

• Chinese and Hong Kong Dramas were my first dramas. One of these were my first: Journey to the West (1986), The Condor Heroes 95 (1995), or Justice Bao (1993). Another one, which isn't on MDL, could be: Adventures of Sanmao (Sanmao Liu Lang Ji). One of my special dramas released in the early 2000s that are not on MDL includes Fire Phoenix (2001). I've also watched a few other old dramas starring Liu Xiao Qing back in the days. ^^

• My first Korean Drama: Glass Slippers (2002), or Dae Jang Geum (2003).

• I also came from the golden era of modern idol Taiwanese Dramas. My first and special one was The Prince Who Turns into a Frog (2005). I became a fan of Joe Chen from this drama. Ming Dao and Joe Chen used to be one of my biggest OTPs in the 2000s. <3

• Tokusatsu was my first genre of Japanese Dramas: Super Sentai Gaoranger, Sentai Hurricanger, Kamen Rider and more. I watched them with my brother in early 2000s. :)

✅2000s-2010s: Chinese, HK and Korean Dramas were the Asian dramas I watched the most, besides tokusatsu.

✅As for Chinese and HK Dramas: I’ve watched and enjoyed more costume dramas than modern ones. Wuxia is my first and favorite genre. I often re-watch my old favorites.

✅Japanese Dramas: have a special place in my heart now. My first live-action drama that wasn't tokusatsu was the live action adaptation of my favorite anime Anohana in 2015.

✅I've watched a few Filipino and Thai Dramas, and dramas from some other Asian countries that are not added on MDL database yet.

• I’m a mood watcher. I watch whatever I feel like. I don’t do watching challenges.

• I watch all genres: Romance, Comedy, Fantasy, Slice of Life, Mystery, Thriller, Action, etc. It depends on my moods. 

• I watch completed dramas slowly, or binge-watch dramas. I watch dramas at the normal speed, never skip or speed up, and often re-watch scenes while watching.

• I re-watch a lot. I have a long plan to watch list, which I might never complete, but often re-watch my old favorites instead of starting a new one. ><

• I rarely drop dramas.

• I use my intuition and read the synopsis to choose a drama. I avoid spoilers so usually I don't read reviews or comments before watching. I would love to read different thoughts from others after I’ve completed a drama.

• I have lists of favorite actors and actresses, but it doesn’t mean I will watch all of their dramas. 

✨My Ratings & Reviews: 

• My ratings don't make sense. I rate my dramas and films out of my enjoyment. I think I’m quite generous. I actually don't think much about it. I also tend to ignore minor flaws that I might find in a film, as long as it gave me some sense of satisfaction or fulfillment.

• However, I do pay attention to little details in a film and can be picky sometimes.

• I wrote down some criteria for my ratings below, but it’s not exactly the same way all the time.

• My early and childhood dramas are often exceptions. I enjoyed most of them and rated them high. Even if I might not like a drama as much as I used when I re-watch it later, I tend to keep my initial ratings. I want to respect my younger self. ^^

• Please keep in mind that my opinions about a drama are just about my personal taste. I may have a different taste from you. You can watch and like anything.

• Please do not take my ratings and reviews too seriously, as even I myself don’t take them so seriously. I usually chill about rating my dramas and don’t think much about it.

• I enjoy writing long reviews, when I'm in the mood to write them. Basically, I write them for myself, and often add some personal experiences that I relate to the story or characters. I appreciate it if you read through my lengthy reviews. ❤️

• I don’t rate or review dramas and films I haven’t completed.
