Emotional Rollercoaster that you don't want to miss!!!
Ticks every box you would want in a Romance K-drama.The Cast, The Story, The Comedy, The Romance, The ACTING!!! The OST!!!
The emotions it put me through was insane. Tears of joy and tears of sadness.. Their story felt so real.. It's not just typical 'Cheese' and 'Aegyo'. Had a real feel to it and touched me emotionally like nothing before.
Honestly, ignore any negative reviews on here. If i went off what people said on here, there would be so many good shows that i would never have watched. If you like K-drama romance, you will love it.

HEY FUTURE VIEWERS, DESPITE THE REVIEWS PLEASE WATCH
I have a big mouth so i can hardly post a review without providing spoilers but i'll try.I know a few reviews may be discouraging you from watching this masterpiece BUT PLEASE DON'T LISTEN TO THEM!
You'll either hate Baek Hyunwoo in the beginning or you'll understand why he acts like that. There's almost no inbetween. BUT I PROMISE HE DEVELOPS WELL, HE'S BAD ASS AND A BALL OF FLUFF. A LITERALLY CINNAMON ROLL THAT WOULD KILL ANYBODY WHO TOUCHES HIS WOMAN.
There will be a few typical kdrama cliches but not enough to be a total turn off.
Unlike other dramas The FL actually sets boundaries with the SML, and the ML does not have a love interest apart from the FL, so absolutely no love triangle. PLUS YOU FIND OUT THE VILLIANS PRETTY EARLY COMPARED TO OTHER SHOWS.
The villians will totally annoy the hell out of you especially the SML, be prepared.
It became a tad bit draggy, unrealistic and overall just pissed me off after the tenth episode but it gets a little better after ep13th. AND DON'T WORRY ALL THE VILLIANS WERE PUNISH...................EVEN HER (you'll know who soon enough)
That's all I have to say hopefully i didn't spoil too much for you.

Series which deserves its very high audience rate!!
With Kim Soo Hyun (ღ˘⌣˘ღ) as beautiful, talented, moving as always.PLOT:
The couple formed by the rich heiress with a difficult character (FL) and her husband "Peter Tsu", perfect, handsome and intelligent, is struggling. The ML wants to divorce, but he learns that his wife only has 3 months to live (brain tumor). In addition, events will change his point of view (plot against the FL family, arrival of a slightly twisted rival, etc.).
PROS:
+ a great CL, endearing, moving, with Kim Ji Woon and Kim Soo-Hyun (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)
+ a well-balanced balance of emotion, anxiety, humor, mystery.
+ endearing 2ary characters, brought to the screen by talented actors.
+ a more or less credible story.
+ well-adapted OSTs, which amplify emotions accurately, including one sung by Kim Soo Hyun himself, “Way Home”.
+ a comforting ending (welcome after everything we suffered with our "heroes" (。◝‿◜。)).
CONS:
### story a little too "dramaland" at the end: I'm fed up with Machiavellian Villains, super intelligent, super powerful, ... and who benefit from hellish luck and who "by chance" come across the items they can exploit ლ(ಠ益ಠ)ლી. The actor is great on this point: we hate him!
**************************************************************************************
+ une story more or less crédible.

Execution was Brilliant!!!
The Execution was just Brilliant!!! I get it when some people say it overhyped.. maybe because there are some drama's which needs more attention and maybe the story line of other drama's might be better. But because of that you shouldn't mark it as a plain drama. I normally enjoy drama's where FL has power and where FL likes ML first. This drama is more than that.. you can clearly see character development. How miscommunication can make situations more miserable. Screenplay writing was great. There are some same old scenes like saving FL life in childhood. That was a bit meh..And one more thing I don't really remember OST of drama's and I don't quite like OST when it goes on repeating.. But I loved this OST and it's very new to me to like OST. I really enjoyed the music. It's quite nice..
Overall my conclusion is go for it!! I loved it it!! It's was a bit smooth ride and not at the same time. If you really want to enjoy 16 episodes without a worry about reality.. GO FOR IT!!!!

A great show!!
I watched this show during my exam but it was worth it. I like it so much that I can't control myself to watch it and ghus completed the show. I had to travel a fev km to watch the show as I doesn't have Mobile Phone. But I feel the happiness watching the show was worth it. So I am telling this to any student or anyone to watch it. It gains attention at the first episode only and you will find yourself dissolved in the story. By the way cast of the show is also great. I loved it.Was this review helpful to you?

Old School Makjang Kdrama Feels
"Queen of Tears" is the kind of classic Kdrama I used to watch when I first started watching Kdramas. It is packed with old-school melodrama and insane plot twists, and the only difference is the role of stereotypical self-centered and cold-hearted Chaeobol CEO is the female lead, and the warm-hearted love interest who takes the abuse with empathy, patience, and unconditional love is the male lead. Of course, an old-school Kdrama wouldn't be complete without greedy and conniving family members and a fight to take control over the entire company by any means necessary. I don't like greedy, power-hungry, family plots unless they are done extremely well or are very campy and this one is neither, but it's entertaining enough mainly because of the actors. This drama's biggest strength is its cast, including many great surprise cameos, which kept me watching.Kim Soo Hyun plays Baek Hyun Woo, a man who couldn't be more perfect. He is good at everything, looks good doing everything, and is super humble, with the caring of a saint. If you loved him in "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" like I did you will see a lot of similarities in Hyun Woo. Just like in that drama, he is matched with a commanding egocentric woman with no filter or sympathy for others. Kim Ji Won plays Hong Hae In, who is more likable than her character in "Lovestruck in the City", but once again I was left wondering why the main character would go above and beyond for a woman who was so difficult to be with. This drama does try to show the realistic side of relationships where we see their honeymoon phase vs what it's like when their relationship is at its worst. I won't speak too much about the details but I will say I questioned whether I could even root for them as a couple many times, but that's where the classic kdrama tropes come in. I'll just say the plot takes the wedding vows "...For richer or poorer. In sickness and in health." literally, and it helps that these two have amazing chemistry together. They are the type of couple that are enjoyable to watch whether they are fighting or in complete love, which helped when the story started to get too repetitive, too unbelievable, or dragged a little too much.
The rest of the cast is just as great. I genuinely started to like a lot of the supporting characters or despised them the way I was meant to, even if I didn't care about their specific storylines. Park Sung Hoon as Yoon Eun Seong is not a 2nd lead but the worst 3rd wheel ever. Lee Mi Sook is awesome and reminded me of how much I loved her craziness in "Money Flower". Kim Joo Ryoung plays a character with a similar two-faced personality to her role in "Squid Game". In a lot of ways, this drama is a cast full of MVP actors who are doing exactly what they have done so well in other dramas. They also all have great chemistry with each other, so I bought into how their relationships evolved even as the plot got more and more over the top.
Would I watch this again? Maybe. As much as I liked the chemistry and the cast I can't say the story as a whole was that rewatchable. I thought based on the title and the premise that this would be a much sadder drama, especially since I've dealt with a lot of grief recently, but besides a few tearful moments for me, it felt more like a typical rich family saga that may have too many frustrating moments to make me excited to watch this ever again. The story jumps from comedy to action to romance to suspense to tragedy and back to comedy. The ending also felt more obligatory than emotionally impactful. I did like the final scene but once I realized this drama wouldn't get too dark or serious I just felt like I was waiting to get to the predictable ending, filled with cliché and last-minute conflicts to stretch the last of the episodes out.
I will say the direction was beautiful. How they portrayed Hae In's perspective especially really drew me in, along with some gorgeous shots in even mundane scenes. I just hate that the acting and direction have such high scores from me but the script just felt so paint by numbers at times it turned the potential for a great drama into a messy mediocre makjang. I'm not mad that I watched it but it reminded me of other dramas that I saw these actors in that I liked so much more. It also gave me a flashback to some extra crazy old kdramas that I may want to finally revisit like "Shining Inheritance", "Baker King, Kim Tak Goo", "Hotel King", and of course "Money Flower".
Overall, "Queen of Tears" is a drama that's great if you are nostalgic for melodramas about elite families fighting for power while a couple from two different worlds who are destined to be together try to stay together despite every possible thing trying to keep them apart. Whatever trope you are thinking would be in a drama like that, yup, it's in this one. All of them... well, no fake marriage contract, but every other one.
Are you in the mood for good chemistry and some tried and true tropes, then this drama delivers! If you are looking for a reminder of what is really important in life, this drama has that too. If you want characters that make you angry enough to yell at your screen, this drama has plenty. I think the plot tried to do too much and please too many viewers to be original or touching, but it still has its moments that made me smile and tear up a little. I know I was able to like this drama more once I recognized what it was and what it wasn't. Maybe if it was called "Queen of Makjang" some viewers would be less disappointed,

Way better than I thought!
I personally love stories where the couple fall for each other the first time, or the first time they are serious about each other. So when I read that this was about a couple that were already married, I didn't know if I would enjoy it as much, but I was very wrong! The way the story starts out and how they progress, was so captivating! It's a very mature story where, rather than dealing with the conflicts of starting out from scratch, we have a couple that are going through the troubles of after. At the center of it all is family, and what that means in many different ways. If you are normally one to cry, you will!
The acting, production, and soundtrack are all fantastic and the biggest highlights in the series.
I don't know why people are being so negative. It's not a perfect series, but certainly not that bad either. Definitely worth a watch!

Glad I didn’t read reviews first
It’s kind of funny showing up a year later to pick up a show I didn’t bother watching because I’m not a bandwagon watcher, nor a particularly big fan of the leads. I’m here primarily to support KSH in the whole crap shoot attack on his life, and even tho I don’t care that much for his shows, I decided it was time to throw some traction behind this show eventually. 2025 has been rather disappointing in kdrama land, and I’ve been hanging out with their J & C counterparts.Have to say it. When you come to the table with zero bias and haven’t read the silly reviews, you finally get to watch a show for what it is. This show was so well written - and yes lets forget the crazy stuff that gets chucked left right and center to get 16 episodes out of it - but nothing was predictable and you don’t really know what’s going to happen next. It was as well done as well as I enjoyed shows like Vincenzo, and nice cameo by the way by corn salad lol.
This was a real good watch, not my fave of the 24 shows but its up there.
One of the locations they filmed is in ky daughters town and I saw it while on a walk last summer. Fun to finally see it on the screen.
I loved mostly the massive growth arc for the family, and them also uniting with the inlaws. Such significance to that and a healthy development you don’t see often in asian dramas when it comes to families.
The lawyer buddies were awesome. The village neighbors also.
I’ll even say the baddy did a great job. Some fine acting all around. I hoped for a little more chemistry at times between the leads. I took off half a star because that felt lacking, and was a shame. I’m not sure if its the lack of intimacy between 2 people who supposedly can’t live without each other, or that FL is so brash so much of the time, shes a little hard to believe she really loves him deep down.
Either way a great drama. Ignore the haters. I’m a little more convinced after that to watch more shows by KSH, so hopefully he can win all his cases against the bullies and get back to living his life.

Underrated or not?
This so-called, lighthearted comedy, is anything but lighthearted. It has a plethora of emotions as the driving force to this underrated masterpiece. The writer and actors are exceeding my expectations on a grand scale. We never get to see a conglomerate family actually humble themselves in such a way that it, in itself, was refreshing.
