A well adapted Live action of a beautiful love story.
This live action movie surely surprised me on how good it was. Having read the manga and watched the anime I didn't really expect that they could pull this off with the same level of chemistry between the leads but they did.Ren Meguro / Mio Imada were a damn good casting for the roles. Both of them look really good together. Having watched this movie and the "Trillion Game" drama, I was in quite an awe of their chemistry as their characters were extremely different in the movie and the show yet they nailed both.
The movie was well executed, though felt rushed during the second half which was quite expected as they had to show a big story arc in a single movie. Had this been a show with episodes, it would have been pure gold as it would give plenty of time to show the entire arc and character developments.
The visual FX were satisfactory. I really wanted to see how they will show Kiyoka Kudo rampaging through the house destroying everything and everyone who was trying to stop him from saving his beloved fiance. They surely didn't disappoint in that. The cinematography too was quite eye catching and matched well with the vibe of the story.
Overall it was a good movie with a well suited cast and a sweet storyline. Kiyoka Kudo and Mio Saimori are one of my all time fav couples and it was nice to see their characters being pulled off so beautifully.

He Would Kill For Her
Thats right, he would kill for her. This amazing man puts her first and only her. He would even kill her family if they hurt her. I love how he really did an excellent job and her, she is exactly the same as in the anime/manga.I enjoyed this drama, and i love how they did not drag the “cold person” personality too much. He was very loving towards her and open up to her bit by bit. We could also see changes in her and thats what i really like about it. I truly did enjoyed this and would rewatch this again when i have the time.
I do recommend this, do give this a watch. Its an amazing drama.

As Long as We Both Shall Live is one of those rare romance-fantasy films..
As Long as We Both Shall Live is one of those rare romance-fantasy films that feels like pure cinematic poetry. From the first frame, it's visually breathtaking. The cinematography, color grading, and CGI are top-tier—blending realism and fantasy so seamlessly that you forget you’re watching effects. Every wide shot feels like a painting, and the dreamlike world it builds draws you in instantly. The performances are strong, especially from the leads, whose chemistry carries the emotional heart of the story. Their love feels grand but intimate, and you find yourself rooting for them from the start. There’s a poetic sadness to the way their story unfolds—fate, memory, and longing all wrapped into one.
But where the film stumbles slightly is in the final stretch. The plot takes a turn that feels a bit out of sync with the tone built so beautifully throughout. It's not that the ending is bad—it just didn't land emotionally for me in the way I hoped it would. It felt like the film was reaching for a twist that didn’t quite match the emotional setup. Still, that didn’t undo how powerful and gorgeous the rest of the experience was.
Pros:
✔ Absolutely stunning cinematography and CGI
✔ Gorgeous romantic visuals and atmosphere
✔ Strong lead performances with believable chemistry
✔ A beautifully immersive fantasy world
Cons:
✘ The final act of the plot felt underwhelming or mismatched in tone
✘ Some story threads left unresolved emotionally
Would I rewatch?
Yes—for the visual experience alone, but also to revisit the emotional journey that built up so beautifully.

Beautiful romance!
Such a beautiful love story, the acting is excellent and the story is so interesting. The romance and the action part is evenly distributed what makes this movie even more perfect! The ML and FL has so much chemistry even without much physical contact you can see their love and care being developed. The only thing is that I wish the story would be more developed and it would show their happy ending a little longer. I think the ending was a little poor compared to the rest of the movie. Would love to see this being made into a few episodes show.Such a beautiful love story! Was this review helpful to you?
Purest of love
✅️ Romance in fantasy setting✅️ Purest, sincere FL
✅️ Honourable, charismatic ML
✅️ Hits you harder thn anime
✅️ Love after arranged marriage
✅️ Intrique & birth secrets
➖️Trigger: Violence and abuse alert
In this unexpected setting, Miyo gets bethrothed to Kiyoka. Miyo despite the abuse she faced growing up, remains unblemised in her innocence and purity of mind. Kiyoka who learns to trust her is drawn to her simple and sincere character. Their interaction was wholesome and sweet in the most beautiful form.
Imada Mio and Meguro Ren managed to potray the real essence of their characters that I felt truly resonate with me and surpass the source material.
Watching them was like sipping a hot Kabusecha: that has a nuanced, unique yet relaxing profile.

Fluffy, heartwarming story
This is a liveaction of a manga and light novel with the same title, but as someone who didn't read nor the manga and the light novel before, this review based entirely on my impression about this movie. This is the best movie so far, in 2023 for me. At first, I thought this is just a romance movie, hence when I saw the grotesqueries in the beginning, I thought I've clicked on the wrong title 🤣.
This is romantasy movie. And full of fluff. Kudo acted like jerk at first, but he redeemed himself in the next day, and he apologized. He's such a green flag!
The movie is a bit fast paced, and I found that their story is a bit rushing. In a blink of an eye, Kudo already cared for her, just from her hands and tears, for me. But their chemistry is truly amazing. I loved how he just burned the house just to find Miyo, I loved how he cared for her, gave her a house she deserved, long long ago.
I didn't really satisfied with the ending. The emperor is such an evil guy, I hoped more bad ending for him, but well, he was already on his deathbed. I shed tears, also, when Kudo use his sword to his comrades. In the end, it's only his life, or his comrades. The story is beautiful, and so Kudo and Miyo's heartwarming story. In the end, Miyo got all she deserved.

I've read the first two volumes of this manga and really enjoyed them. My Happy Marriage is every bit of a Cinderella story, which is a trope/theme I enjoy when done well. So when I saw there was a movie version, I was immediately sold. And all I have to say after watching it is WOW. This movie is phenomenal. The filmography, the music, the visual effects, the acting, the story, there wasn't anything I was dissatisfied with. The movie had my eyes glued to my screen in rapt attention from start to finish.
Now, I can't say for sure if reading the first two volumes of the manga aided in my ability to follow the story in this movie or not, but I can admit it's possible. From what I can tell, there seems to be an even split between people who understood the story without interacting with any of the other versions and people who didn't understand it because they'd never interacted with any other version, so I would be aware of that. But I do feel that even if you go in blind, there is a lot to be impressed by with this movie.
For my part, I'm even more pumped to keep reading the manga (which I definitely recommend people read) and maybe even the light novels, which is saying something, because I don't really read light novels.
Also, that bonus scene after the credits setting up another movie. I want, I need, I mUSt hAvE!!!

honestly..
the anime is top tier. this was kinda mediocre because the plot & story line was so rushed. there are so many rave reviews, maybe if I hadnt loved the anime so much I would’ve enjoyed this more.I wanted to see so much more of the plot, character, and romance development. Even though I have seen the anime, I found myself briefly confused with the jumping around.
Really wasn’t bad, just not up to my expectations. could have done way better.
I felt like they were trying to portray the entire anime when instead there could have been one major climax and not several rushed together.
acting was great, settings on point, “animation”/ graphics great. just the storyline was rushed & jumbled. wasn’t a smooth tell.

High budgeted jdrama historical, I’m not too well experienced in jdrama historicals and the ones I’ve seen are always so, budget friendly to say it nicely, poorly expensed would be more accurate
not saying they weren’t good but yeah it felt like they used pocket money to make the set and outfits
Anyway, this felt nicely expansive, good setting and everything
Ml, tho I only watched one ep of the anime, he wasn’t as cold here, more like reserved out of shyness cuz he never dealt with women and he seemed well social with the guys, so ml just felt cutely naive rather a cold jerk
The bad, too much too little, so many things happened yet it still felt so rushed, not enough setting grounds, suddenly ppl wanted revenge and suddenly a new character with his whole backlog came up
The fl, dang is it a kink? I mean I get the Cinderella effect, but man this chic was a mouse
so self loathing, so much inferiority complex, yeah she had “background reasons” but it’s also the writers weird fetish
tbh I would’ve loved something like queen charlotte, there’s no reason she couldn’t have been smart cuz she studied alone, there was no need for her to be a genius but everything felt like an excuse “I’m not smart enough for you, I’m not pretty enough for you” that’s disgusting
And yeah that’s why my rating kept going down
Like I came from stories like The Awakening by Kelly Armstrong (?), and the whole setup of dumb blondes later realizing they’re the most powerful person ever, I mean we can even say Bella from Twilight. Anyway but this girl I swear I wanted to punch her so bad
And by the time one reads this for there’s no need to mark spoilers but even if she was strong, dang that girl fell so much like she was made of glass
So yeah if there’s a second season I want a drama not a movie, cuz hopefully she “grows up” and atleast becomes a zootopias Jody

A Powerless and The Most Powerful
This movie is worth your time. Full of fluff scenes, and amazing chemistry between the actors. Cuteness overload. I love that he is said to be very cruel and scary, but is such a sweetheart when it comes to Mayo. A family-friendly movie, so you can watch it with your kids too. The powers confused me, but the cute scenes made it nice to watch. The ending was satisfying. I love his expression softens after seeing her. he saves her like a knight in shining armour when she was in danger, couldn't stand the thought of her having a nightmare. Keep in mind, He is an elite in the military, said to be one of the cruellest people in the whole city 🥹.I'll rewatch this when I'm craving a good fluffy romance. Was this review helpful to you?

My favorite old school romance.
This is cindrella story. The anime is actually the story of an underdog, the underdog being cindrella of course but they have taken only one small portion of the anime for this movie and its beautifully edited.
I absolutely loved it. These two had amazing chemistry. Everything is soo subtle and yet very beautiful. It just has the charm of pure love and romance.
Both characters are introverts and they express their love through sincerity. The supporting cast is also pretty amazing. This might just be one of the best casting for live action.
I won't spoil it for you. Just go watch it. It definitely gives you butterflies.
