After failing several interviews to land a job, all depressed Tomoki Hamasaki decides to commit suicide. Arriving at a forest site in the mountain he finds forestry people working. Lacking manpower, the group invites Tomoki to work with them. Tomoki notices a female employee called Michiko Yamada among the workers. Curiosity draws Tomoki closer to Michiko but Michiko has a secret. One day, a young woman appears from Tokyo looking for Michiko.
