Nevertheless, ( the red flags)
Edit 2:Aye guys! I watched ep 4-7 in fast-forward mode. My conclusion: this drama (main couple) stucks in a loophole since ep 2.
Some progress on the side characters but it still felt more like a background noise/fillers to me.
Sure it's mature age viewing but this is a LOT of sex, it lost it's charm almost immediately.
My summary: two fuck buddies tryna settle for love
-non existent character growth on main characters
-flat plot, loop, boring
-very slow pace
-no meaningful communication/lacks communication
-nothing is in depth, just surface written character
-??????
-great drama for someone who loves tension and stress
Edit:
We all have that one friend who would balled her eyes out for some mfs and swore to god she was so over him and the next thing you know, they're back together again. Right? This drama is it, basically. Nothing more nothing less. So far, no depth, no other core plot. 1 point for being very realistic tho.
This relationship is entirely based on look and lust. Na Bi saw Jae Eon once and girl was already sold. They didn't trade any meaningful conversation. Just 'Want some fuck? Want kiss? Leave me alone!, Where are you going ?' Roller coaster.
Ep 3 felt like a repetition of ep 2, ep 2 and 1 can be just 1 ep. Very slow.
Every ep ends with sexual act/tease. Cheap cliffhanger. Sex and kiss is not enough to hook me, sorry.
Sol has distinct personality, interesting & more story to offer compared to FL, weak, boring, indecisive, lack confidence, can't even excel her studies most probably bcs she can't think of anything except love 24/7.
ML is kinda bland, basic fuckboy starting pack. Pretty looking, tall, no boundaries, narcissistic. That's it?
Other characters are like...idk, they felt like some background noise to me.
Except from being realistic and 2-3 pretty shots and close up of 2 people making out, nothing impressed me.
That being said, even if I have nothing against cheating,
this drama will still be getting low rating from me.
Dropping . Might recommend this to my 'Na Bi' girlfriends to knock some sense.

Previous comments on Episode 1 and 2:
Are we fantasizing cheaters now? I don't like where this drama is heading. I might be judging it too early, but it seems like it. As someone who had been cheated before, I personally find the first 2 eps disturbing.
The FL is like; I know he's suspicious, my close friend warned me about him but he made my heart flutter so that's enough justification. That's love, nevertheless. I hate how indecisive/slow she is. Girl just witnessed ML kissing another girl with her own eyes and was okay and proceeded to make out with him right at the same spot! WTF
Slow burn drama, no where near romantic, just red flags. If you have PTSD getting cheated, this is not the drama for you.
We'll see how this drama goes.

TLDR:
-uninteresting, weak main characters
-slow progression
-flat, boring plot
-no action
-cheap cliffhanger
-very realistic
-some pretty shots

With a taste of a poison paradiseee~ I’m addicted to you, don’t you know that you’re toxic?
This probably is the most toxic drama that I have ever watched and hopefully I will never have to do that again. To me the drama just conveys the wrong morals and message:
"The bad boy who is playing with the innocent girl and she accepts it."
While i loved the character development between the side characters like Yoon Sol and Seo Ji Wan, who go through their troubles with communication of their feelings and honesty, the relationship between Na Bi and Jae Eon is way too obsessive and well... toxic!
The scene of Na Bi and her ex in front of her house after he he heard she was dating again was my favorite one, because it showed the strength and dominance of the female lead right there. BUT her just accepting in the end, that Jae Eon will hurt her and make her feel not worth it destroys that whole picture of that strong woman, which is really sad.
To me Nevertheless missed a lot of development between the lead couple and just Jae Eon individually. If we had a lot more evolution in his character and some more depth in his past or personal challenges for him to overcome this might have been a drama liked. Maybe more smaller situations where Jae Eon actually is reflecting about his behavior and actual understanding of Na Bis emotions.
Even though the acting was well done and then music well made, I definitely wouldn't recommend cuz of all the mentioned factors.
Was pretty much disappointing :/

Realistic portrayal of modern relationships
***SPOILERS AHEAD***i dont understand why everyone is so pressed about this show and keep saying its toxic. I understand you would believe it to be toxic if either: 1. you re against friends with benefits relationships, 2. you liked the webtoon more or 3. you forgot the fact that Na Bi is aware that what they have is not an actual serious relationship and is AGREEING with it. The lack of communication they have in some parts of the story is what leads them to stop seeing each other casually and breaking up. And in my opinion that relationship is not toxic, what s toxic is not communicating properly and imagining what the other person is thinking or doing without actually discussing it.
That said, I think this is an amazing portrayal of actual, real modern relationships, I'm sure it s not like that in every country so I guess some people can relate more to it than others. These kinds of relationships are not usually shown on kdramas so it was really refreshing to see an unusual romance story with more raw scenes and realistic/relatable moments
My only complaint is about the SML, i feel like the character lacks depth and they kind of did the actor dirty because he s a really good actor but the character doesnt do him justice
The OST is amazing and i saved most of the songs on my kdrama playlist lol
Even if you think their relationship is toxic
nobody can deny that the chemistry between the ML and the FL is incredible and they did a really good job at portraying their characters

one of the worst kdramas i‘ve ever watched
I had no expectations, since I knew about the ending and all. Still watched it to form my own opinion. On TikTok I often heard people saying „it’s realistic, that’s why you don’t like it..“ etc. Maybe it is realistic, but I‘m not watching Dramas to see reality. The toxicity… just ew. Nabis and Jaeons encounter, just no. The scene where she started smoking- you could clearly see that nabi was under his spell. Wanted to drop it so much, i still finished it… wasted 10 hours I‘ll never get back. The supporting couples were more interesting to watch then the main couple. The second lead was the better option for na-bi, but yet she still chose jae-on. She chose toxicity, after getting out of a toxic relationship?? Story was repeating itself. No rewatching value. Well after all, wouldn’t recommend it.Was this review helpful to you?

Not the best.
Uh this review might be trash but Nevertheless is not the best drama out there. To be honest I first watched it because of the hype and the first few episode were actually good, but starting episode 7 it started to be bad. In my opinion, SolJiwan was a better couple. Yoo Na-bi is stupid for kissing Jae-eon in the end. If the ending was Na-bi not dating Jae-eon or just not dating anyone in general my rating could've been higher tbh. The side couples was probably the reason why I didn't drop it. Nevertheless, the acting and cast were perfect for their roles. Han Sohee and Song Kang's chemistry is literally so divine on-screen and off-screen. And that's just my thoughts. Was this review helpful to you?
uh... no.. nEvErThELeSs,
Honestly I can only recommend this drama to you if you like skinship.Hint, hint, i haven't read the webtoon so this review contains nothing about how good it is as a webtoon adaptation.
In the beginning, the drama made me feel excited for the mature and casual relationship between Nabi and Jae Eon, however it was really just me secretly setting myself up for frustration. They start with a toxic relationship, and end with one, making myself the only one to blame for the dissatisfaction i had when finishing this drama (i should've known). You think you're going to get a friends-with-benefits-to-lovers situation, but instead get something much more frustrating, boring and toxic than anticipated. I couldn't tell if the pacing was wack or if i was just bored. The repetition of events was tiring and lead to this frustration i keep mentioning. The drama is only 10 episodes, and i don't know if its because i was watching the episodes as they aired, but it felt so LONG. There was so much filler from supporting characters, despite the fact that they only had 10 hours compared to the usual 16 to tell a story. All the energy they spent making sure ten supporting characters were paired up should've been put into Nabi and Jae Eon's relationship.
With that being said, here are the positives that kept me tuning in
- The great side couples. All were unique and there was even a same-sex couple for once!!
- Great osts although this is more of a positive aspect and not actually a reason to keep watching.
- Cinematography and color palettes. Very aesthetically pleasing to watch.
- Skinship and open talks about sex. If you like a lot of kissing and naughty scenes then here you go. The drama is built upon casual relationships so be prepared for plenty of casual conversations/scenes with sex. If you want skinship, here is the drama to get it, but just know that there is not much else (at least for the main couple).
I don't recommend it. If you still decide to watch this drama, don't set your expectations too high.

The producers knew this was hot garbage, nevertheless...
I made it .. barely.I feel like I need a long, hot bath and some sort of special trophy after enduring that.
The whole 'friends with benefits' concept must be foreign to whoever wrote this.
Their interactions from the start were not even close to a FWB type of vibe.
The smoking and then kissing was a huge turn off.
The whole smoking angle in general added a layer of grime that just wasn't needed.
The FL was a shell of a space cadet.
ML was childish and had the personality of a spore.
Not sure why so many had second lead syndrome.
I wouldn't want that sweet little guy to end up with someone like the Nabi.
None of the side characters mattered much or were remarkable in their performance.
Music was alright, nothing too spectacular and fit where it should.
Overall - this was like a bland jello mold; just kind of sat there and jiggled from time to time.

Philosophical Mambo Jumbo
At first I thought this will be a more mature drama. I thought it would be about a relationship between to people and the up and down in their life. But I could not stand all the philosophical Mambo Jumbo and mind playing game. It totally became boring and I just mostly fast forward the last 3 episodes. I thought this would be a more realist relationship but it became a psychology training for therapist. I don't know anyone that has all this mind games and do not speak their mind at this age. They are not kids they are adults. I feel like she was an abuse women and is afraid to talk to anyone. I am being generous in my rating. The actors did their best in the performance but the story stinks. Was this review helpful to you?
Different from other the typical K-drama with a realistic storyline
I heard a lot of bad comments about this drama that's why i didn't feel like watching it for a long time. But because of the cast i finally decided to give it a try and oh boy i am glad i did. This drama is great! Many people say Park Jae-Eon is a walking red flag and yes he IS, but in my opinion we see a lot of character development for the male and also the female lead. He learns to become a better person through her. While Yu Na Bi learns to become a stronger person through him.
Don't wanna spoil, just go and watch it!

Not your typical kdrama love story
I have to disagree with a lot of the negative reviews here. "Nevertheless" is not a typical kdrama love story, but it is a genuine love story nevertheless. The love story between Na Bi and Park Jae Eon is primarily told from the female lead's point of view, giving the male lead a sense of mystery and leaving the viewer with a lot to guess (and therefore giving him a lot of hate). We know everything in Nabi's mind about her worries on Jae Eon through her own monologues and what she hears from other people about Jae Eon. But we never hear Jae Won's voices in his mind or his perspective on Na Bi until the very end. In the beginning we are given a hint that before hooking up with Nabi, Jae Eon might be having another friends-with-benefits relationship. But we cannot be sure, because that relationship (or lack of) is never really shown on screen with the front of his face. He kissed another girl in front of Na Bi's house, but it's in the context of a kissing game the group of friends participated in. His blurry relation with Sol La (ex-girlfriend) never materialize into a current love relationship. The only thing that comes out of his mouth hinting that he isn't too serious about Na Bi (at least in the beginning) is that he said "why do people need to date". That's his viewpoint on romantic relationships prior to his big change as a result of Na Bi. All of these added together are enough for some viewers to tag him "player". But is he really a player?I want to give two thumbs up to Song Kang's portrayal of Park Jae Eon. His character is sexy and boyish. He is a young man who didn't grow up close to his mother. So he never really know what a true close relationship with a woman should be until he learns it in Na Bi. Song Kang is at the right age to play this role. He has just the right amount of playfulness and seriousness for this character.
I also want to praise the director on her artsy and bold take of telling a love story. She purposely left the viewer with a lot to imagine. At some places where Jae Eon's face is not shown, the director wants viewers to guess just like Na Bi: "Is that Jae Eon?" "Would you believe his sincere interest in Na Bi"? When Jae Eon tapped on a waitress's shoulder, the camera zoomed in on his hand, and we see the waitress's smile seeing a handsome guy. Here we see another example of the director trying to confuse/fool the viewer into believing he is a "player".
Romantic love carries a risk. Some might have bigger risks than others. One woman's frog might be another woman's prince. Jae Eon doesn't want to be in a monogamous relationship with any women before meeting Na Bi. But he changed for Na Bi in the end. These happen a lot in reality. It is all about timing and meeting the right person. The characters in this kdrama are all around twenty years old, when they face a lot of uncertainties for their future and some are still trying to figure themselves out. But they are adventurous in their search for love.
This show has a very positive message: Be brave in seeking love. You might get hurt (or you might end up with the one you love). But you wouldn't know until you try.
I give this drama a 9 out 10. Reason it's not perfect is because of the many side couples that take up a lot of screen time in the second half of the drama. The writer wants to depict a picture of a group of young, adventurous people's romantic lives. Although this is her creative choice, but I think they should have given more focus to the Na Bi/Jae Eon's story in the second half. Perhaps let them have more dialogues rather than keep showing Na Bi's monologues. If Jae Eon's change can be shown more in depth, perhaps he wouldn't get so much hate from viewers.
For those of you who think friends-with-benefits won't ever turn into real monogamous relationships, you should do your research on the internet and you would be surprised to find out that's not true at all. There are different statistics out there surveying real people who had FWB relationships. One major dating web site did a survey to real people who had FWB relationships, and found out more than 40% of those FWB relationships turn into full-fledged relationships. This is quite an impressive number. Other research might give a lower number. But the point is, it is POSSIBLE to go from FWB to real relationships. I even saw comments on the internet where one woman said she ends up marrying her FWB. It all depends on each situation. You can read all the articles advising people how to turn FWB into relationships, and you can see from those articles that in "Nevertheless", Park Jae Eon and Yu Na Bi have every sign of it turn into a relationship - very strong attraction, frequent contacts, cuddling and talking, he remembers her birthday, jealousy, etc. I am not saying FWB should be the way to go for real relationships. I still think real relationship would better off start as non-sexual. But relationships are very complex, and there are no rules. It's not fair to judge a drama show based on your personal experience or preconceived notion.

oh my god.
firstly. i am so glad to see all the reviews, you guys GET IT.the most waste-of-time, painful, frustrating show ever.
the only thing that got me through was the acting, i loved the actors + music pretty solid.
this is not a review but a "rant" there was a lot more, but its too vile to post, sorry lol.
i wrote this review a while back just for my Instagram story... keep in my mind i was raging lol:
0/10
bullshit, crap, pointless, useless, dumbass show.
why did the even make this show? to romanticize abusive relationships? that's right.
THE WHOLE POINT OF THE WEBTOON WAS TO SEE NABI MOVE ON AND HEAL FROM THE TOXIC RELATIONSHIP BUT WHAT THE FU/K?
they kiss and happy ending?????????? no this aint a happy ending, this is the 'from hell' ending. na bi doesnt deserve that sh*t faced assh*le??? what is wrong with all of you????
what is the point of the writers completely twisting the entire meaning of the webtoon? If you’re going to go out of your way to change it, why even base it off of a webtoon in the first place? great acting but SH*T SHOW. whoever wrote this script is sick in the head. script-writer, remember to read the source first next time. god.
kdramas will never stop completely destroying amazing webtoons. first true beauty now this.
