It's was so heartwarming !!!
She fell first ,he fell harder ...I'm usually not a fan of having a crush on brother's best friend ,but jiaxu was such a green flag throughout. He was so kind and considerate of her at every point and they were both so good to each other. The chemistry is fire... And the story and all the relationship progress was so tastefully done . All the supporting characters were great , sang zhi's parents and here relationship with her brother were so wholesome and sometimes all you want is to watch something very sweet that makes you believe in love again ❤️.
Absolutely worth watching!!!
I might re-watch the episodes from after they got together :)

Best drama ever
The ML and FL visual are perfect.Their acting are perfect to move my heart eventhough the story line are simple.
I watched twice lol, so sweet drama and no tension.
Lusi acting always go high another level for each drama.

Lusi acting always go high another level for each drama. Her acting are so natural and her small gestures and aurura can drive you into the story lines feel.
I never know who is Chen Zheyuan till I watch this drama, omg his eyes are so beautiful and can give a different emotions by just staring. He really don't need to do anything lol.
The best drama so far I watched.
What I don't like is, the drama is too short!

Cute!!
Loved it till 18th episode and then it felt like it was dragging on. Finished the last couple of episodes in 1.5x. The sibling dynamics were a treat to watch and the cast acted well. I just liked "When I Fly towards you" better because I was watching them parallelly and the general lack of misunderstanding and cliches in When I fly made it a better watch than Hidden Love. One thing that I did like about HL is that female lead was not a damsel in distress and could take a stand and not just for herself - but for the male lead as well. All the female characters written by this author are strong and know their mind - I truly appreciate the fact that these characters are unlike the naive/weak/gullible ones usually found in dramas,.Was this review helpful to you?
JUST WATCH
This dreams was prefect. Whenever they cried, I cried with them and would whisper “Don’t cry, everything will be alright.I have seen a lot of Cdramas and frankly, only a few blew my mind. I don’t know if it’s the norm in China, but I hated the fact that for most of the dramas it’s either the FL is extremely childish or the ML is super annoying. Remember, it’s a personal opinion. Like I said earlier, I don’t mean to be rude or offensive, I just want to air my opinion with all due respect.
This drama is a masterpiece! I haven’t seen a drama this flawless. Even the saddest person on earth would be happy after watching this. Honestly, it’s been long I typed this long epistle on any drama.
The actors were amazing! Every character were lovable, there was no single hate. And for the ML & FL? I felt deeply in love with those two. I have been a fan of the FL after watching “Love Like the Galaxy” which is by the way, among the best Cdramas I have seen.
I wish Chinese script writers would learn from this drama. I wish they would start writing more realistic characters & stories and stop making most FLs too fake and childish. I mean most of these movies are for adults, it should portray that too. I’m not a fan of skinships. However, those few kissing scenes should be as real as possible. Those romantic moments should be real and not some fake kissing scenes.
That being said, I want to applaud everyone that worked on this drama. I connected with this drama all the way, I had to rewind some of the scenes because I didn’t want it to end. To everyone that worked on this, you guys are super talented, amazing and effortlessly great actors. I love every part of it. I wish I could hug everyone on set, but it’s not possible. And I’m happy this was a huge success. You guys deserve the recognition. Thank you guys for making my day, I watched this in less than 24 hours.
For me, I would rate this an easy 10/10! I would really appreciate any recommendations to something similar; no hate, not evil parents, no evil EX, no breakups. Just two people who are deeply in love and are allowed to be and remain in love.

Beautiful little drama
A Lovely warm and uplifting little drama. The Male lead was beautiful. It is the first drama with Lu Si that I thought she looked good in. Her acting has certainly matured ironically, in a youthful role. It was a heart warming story of love and loyalty. It is my First drama with The Male Lead playing Xiang and what a treat that was. He is exquisite. His role was very touchng and honest. He is swoonworthy. A Nice story of a supprtive family unlike the usual tyranny that often exists in Asian Dramas. LuSi's character was wonderful. Her loyalty and committment to Xiang was truly wonderful. Her acting was good and her character was excellent. She moved through the different stages of her life beautifully. Excellent though she was He stole the drama for me. Perfection.Was this review helpful to you?
Best Chinese Drama!!!
This is my first time completing a Chinese drama and I’m so glad I decided to watch this. Zhao Lusi and Chen Zhe Yuan’s popularity can be explained through this drama because they performed their roles excellently. Seriously they have the best chemistry out of all romantic dramas I’ve watched. They portrayed a couple in love and expressed romance so naturally. I especially love every moment between ML and FL when they start dating because we get to see how much they deeply love and care for each other, absolutely precious bond they have. It was a beautiful series that teach many valuables lessons about familial, romantic, and platonic love. I cried tears of joy and sorrow and sympathized with the characters from beginning to end. The rewatch factor value is a 10/10! I feel like I can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed watching this series. No exception I would definitely recommend Hidden Love to anyone who likes romance.Was this review helpful to you?
Heart warming drama!
The plot, the soundtracks, and the chemistry between Zhao Lusi and Chen Zhe Yuan were extremely perfect! One of the cdramas that I would recommend to many people. A very sweet love story, warmth of the family also the cuteness of the brother-sister siblings make our heart feel so calm, It’s really worth watching over and over again. The acting all of the cast are chef kiss (they look so natural).Sang Zhi is such a thoughtful, cute and smart character. She never gave up on her love and pursue her dream in education. Duan Jia xu, HE IS A WALKING GREEN FLAG MAN i love his character and started dreaming about where I could get a man like that in the real world??😭
At the end, good job hidden love team this drama is a masterpiece!✨

How to feel single for 25 episodes straight....
I watched this gem with my friend and we both loved it so much. This was such a fun, entertaining, and heart-fluttering show about friendship, first love, heartbreaks, and growing up - I thoroughly enjoyed it so so much! Zhi Zhi was such a sweety, cutie patootie and grew into such a kind young woman, who really fought for the things that mattered to her. Duan Jiaxu as a male lead ... I can't imagine anyone else other than Chen Zhe Yuan playing him. He is so expressive with his eyes, it's insane. His character had to go through many hardships being so young, but it was nice to see how he gradually relied on Zhi Zhi. Thanks to her, he finally felt like he could be loved too 😭 My only criticism would be that I wish they had casted a younger version for Jiaxu as well as they did for Sang Zhi. I think this way the age difference that is addressed in the drama anyway wouldn't have been that big of a problem to some audiences. Sang Zhi's young version just looked so significantly younger than Jiaxu that it's no wonder people were like "eh" at first. Had they used an actual teenage boy, I feel it wouldn't have been so "bad". Also... they were kind of inconsistent with the age gap of 5 years... qhen Zhi Zhi turned 19, Jiaxu later turned 26? Why was he suddenly 6 years older?? Didn't make sense lol. Regardless, I really loved the show and will definitely rewatch it should I feel like screaming for 25 episodes straight^^Was this review helpful to you?
watch it, you won’t regret it !!!
This has to be one of the best dramas I’ve ever watched. The actors did such a great job portraying their roles. I’m one of those people who don’t mind clichés, but sometimes I just need something “new” and different, you know ? Well, Hidden Love didn’t disappoint. The plot is unique, so bonus points for that. Just a heads-up for those who don’t like the age-gap trope : the ML was 19 when he first met the FL, who was 14 at the time, but it’s important to note that they DID NOT have any sexual/romantic interactions until much later in the show. The FL was of legal age when the ML started developing feelings for her. Personally, it didn’t bother me much, but I get why some people might find it icky.Now I’d like to talk about the main characters a bit.
Sang Zhi (FL) : She’s childish at the beginning of the show, but I promise it’ll get better (they skip 2 years foward to when she’s 19 in 8 ep, so dw). She’s quite shy and introverted, which isn’t much of a problem, not every fl has to be badass or wtv, but even after she gets with the ml, she has issues with intimacy and i’m not even talking about sex, just simple things like kissing. I found that a little annoying, because Imagine getting the man of your dreams, who’s not only hot af, but also respectful and considerate and not wanting to kiss him. Even when she did it, it felt kinda forced, like girl, kiss him like you mean it 😭 Aside from that, I liked her character and the way she stood up for others and herself.
Jia Xu (ML) : He’s the most considerate ML I’ve ever seen in a drama, he literally pays attention to her every little move. He’s too good of a man to be realistic tbh. Their relationship is healthy, no unnecessary fights or arguments, just pure love. He’s like a fatherly figure to Sang Zhi, but not like in a weird way, it’s just the way he cares for her so much and always puts her first.
Overall, I loved this drama and I’ll never stop recommending it :)

It was all I ever wanted from a romance plot
I'm not a big fan of C drama or K drama. I have watched only a few of them during my 6years of following TV shows. So, I almost don't know any Korean or Chinese actors/actresses by name. I'm telling this to make it clear I didn't like “Hidden Love” this much because I'm a fangirl of the cast members or whatever (as some people may assume).I watched this 2 months ago on my 18th birthday completely by accident. I wanted to cheer myself up on this so called “big day”, and it was recommended on some app, so I started watching it with the expectation of a very ordinary romantic series which is fun for one day or two, and will be forgotten the next week with lots of cliché. HOWEVER, I can tell without a doubt it was one my best experience of watching a series or a movie. It was all I ever wanted from a romance plot. This series is literally a proof that a romance can be engaging and lovable without any stupid unnecessary drama which are only in the story to waste time because the writers don’t have any better ideas. It was pure joy for me.
The plot is pretty simple and not new, but the way it is processed, is absolutely a breath of fresh air.
Although including some cliché, the series broke a lot of norms in romance plots and can be called subversive; The story didn’t include a love triangle; It didn’t have an evil character who would destroy the main leads’ relationship; It didn’t have a bad boy ML who is arrogant about other people’s feelings and depressed and half naked all the time. It didn’t break up the main couple over stupid BS which are unrealistic as hell; It didn’t have unnecessary filler plot only to kill time and have more episodes.
We have a teenage girl, SANGZHI, who’s got a crush on his brother’s friend; she makes every excuse to be around this young man. She does some very stupid things like going to another city all by herself with made up excuse to see him, but at the end she is very realistic about the fact that she can’t be with him and keeps all of her feelings to herself for years (such a big burden for a girl at that age) and moves on which shows her growth despite how hard it can be. When she is actually close to her dream, she acts very mature and careful. quite Opposite from some other female leads, she understands that the male lead can’t be at her service 24/7 (referring to episode 16); instead of nagging or breaking up, she asks about his feelings, make sure if he’s ok, and tries to make him happy and secure.
And there’s our male lead, JIAXU (definitely my new fictional crush lol), who has gone through the worst; He was shammed by everyone for his father’s action; He had to watch his mother slowly dying; He was forced to pay debts at a very young age; but this didn’t turn him to an asshole/bad boy. Instead, it made him more responsible. He is very respectful; He cares about people; He loves to help others. When he becomes sure of his feelings about SANGZHI, He doesn’t hesitate to confess his love for her. And we can’t talk about him without mentioning his flirting ability. It is in another level. Never seen a character being this flirty and respectful at the same time. I know it’s a little cringe, but I want to gush over his appearance for hours. I mean just look at him (SANZHI, sister, you had every right to have a crush on him). His physical look really blesses the eye.
And I adored ML’s performance. His eyes are very expressive. He is surely talented, so is SANGZHI’s actress.
SANZHI and JIAXU as a couple, are definitely one of the best in all kinds of medium I have seen. Their chemistry is out of this world, thanks to the main leads’ acting. The way JIAXU’s actor plays with his eyes and looks at SANGZHI is just amazing (made me want to pause the series and just look at his eyes for minutes). The way they position their bodies shows a deep intimacy and very natural affection. These two will give you gallons butterflies every episode.
Everything about this show, from plot simplicity to actors’ performances and chemistries, really made my 2023 summer. I will remember the time I spent watching it as a memorable birthday “gift”. I will definitely come back to it every once in a while.

This would be my top Chinese drama followed by love O2O. The storyline is so soothing and I feel calm and content watching it. The chemistry between the main leads are overflowing……😍😍😍. The acting is superb. The clothing is top notch….❤️🙌🏻. I really like how they did Chen Zheyuan’s ( Duan Jia Xu ) hair on this drama. I have seen him in other dramas and never thought that he’s much attractive. But with this hairstyle as well as the clothes he wore here I couldn’t take my eyes off him….!!!! ❤️❤️❤️ I’m so obsessed with this drama and I have already rewatched this multiple times.
