This show is funny if you take it as it is: a silly mini show with low budget.

The only thing I have to say is, the fucking outfit. I get it they are aliens, but please... No stop this is ugly.
The acting is really okay for a low budget serie.

It's cringey, short, light and silly. If you want some masterpiece or deep story, you may not find it in here.

It’s just cute you know? ?

If you’re expecting top tier acting and a masterful plot then wait for Happy Ending. That is going to give the plot, depth and emotional madness we are all craving. This is just a fun, quirky, nonsensical show. The plot isn’t complicated, it’s aliens on earth , baking and falling in love. If you watched the pilot and expected more, then I don’t understand. 🤔 It doesn’t take itself seriously which I actually love.

Cringe moments: yes.
Over the top comedy beats : yes
nonsense sci fi plot: yes
small emotional moments: yes
Jeff & Barcode being cute af: yes 🙌

Essentially Jeff is an alien Prince who comes to Earth and meets Wooju who is Barcode. Antics ensue in the bakery while a haphazard alien takeover plot happens in the background. Despite that, the chemistry is fantastic 🤗 and the emotional beats, even though they are small specks here and there, are appreciated. In 8 episodes I can see how they fell for each other and I love it!

Also shout out to the side couple. Not much time or dialogue but I would watch a show with them ngl 🤷🏾‍♀️

This show gives ✨Disney Channel Original✨ movie vibes like early 2000’s. It’s giving Zenon lol I’m old don’t judge 😩.

Jeff & Barcode are silly and adorable yet still manage to have great chemistry. The acting isn’t terrible for what it is. You can tell they had fun filming. If you just want to watch something cute and short, I recommend it just for that. If you like silly shows with over the top comedy bits and just a fun vibe you’ll like this. Even Jeff himself said that was the expectation.

Let’s not forget how long ago the show was made. So many are saying they are really let down but this was their first show after KP as a pair. Not only that, it wasn’t even going to be released until another studio bought it. I don’t think you should judge their capabilities on this show and just sit back and enjoy the ride. ✨

Not The Best But Still Good

The quality of the production was good despite not having a huge budget and the special effects were decent for the budget they had. The acting was pretty good for the most part and I don't think the script was too bad but there are definitely some inconsistencies in the storytelling. I can't tell if it's just the editing or if it came from the directing side as well but there are contradictions in some scenes and the flow of other scenes felt off like they were out of order or missing some context that might have come from a deleted scene. Overall I liked the story being told, it was the way it was told that could use some improvement. I didn't have any issue with the fact that the show takes place in three different languages (Korean, Thai and English) especially given the fact that half the main characters are aliens but some may find this irksome. They managed to keep it interesting with a couple little plot twists but nothing too outrageous or unbelieveable and they tied off the loose ends of almost all the characters in a way that was satisfying and actually kind of sweet. To conclude; I think this is a cute little multi-national BL that shouldn't be taken too seriously, just sit back and enjoy the wacky antics and romantic moments and appreciate the happy ending RaonWooju get that we didn't get from KimChay (KinnPorsche).

Wooju Bakery: Years of Waiting for Almost Nothing

*Wooju Bakery* was honestly one of the most disappointing series I have watched.

After all the delays, uncertainty, and years of waiting, I expected at least a decent story or an entertaining romance. Instead, the final result felt cheap, childish, confusing, and unfinished. The alien-and-bakery concept could have worked as a silly romantic comedy, but the writing did almost nothing interesting with it.

The plot was weak, the comedy was embarrassing, the romance had very little development, and the acting often felt awkward. I do not blame the cast entirely because the script and direction gave them very little to work with, but almost nothing in the series felt convincing.

One of the most exhausting parts was the constant switching between Korean, Thai, and English. Multilingual dialogue can be interesting when handled naturally, but here it made many conversations feel disconnected and difficult to follow. At times, it seemed as though the characters were barely communicating with each other.

The editing and production also felt strangely incomplete. Scenes moved awkwardly, emotional moments had no impact, and the entire series looked like an old troubled project that was finally released simply because too much time and money had already been spent on it.

The biggest problem is that the long delay created expectations the series could never meet. After waiting for so long, viewers were given a weak story, poor character development, little chemistry, and almost no satisfying payoff.

Overall, *Wooju Bakery* was not merely disappointing because of the delays. It was simply a bad series on its own: poorly written, badly edited, emotionally empty, and far too dependent on the popularity of its actors.

**Rating: 3/10**

To be honest, I can see why Jeff and Barcode chose to accept working on this project. There are many unique and promising ideas for a completely whacky comedy with much silliness -- the first few scenes reminded me of the iconic movie "Spaceballs", just made with an even lower budget.

With the right vision, a well-written screenplay and creative use of props and sets, this could have been a top-tier It's-so-bad-it's-good C-grade low-budget SF spoof.

I really liked the aliens' shiny cheap polyester clothing and their obvious hand-wavey misunderstanding of Earth's culture. I liked the poser-like "grandeur" of Prince Raon and Hachi's ever-changing dog-ears. I liked the reason for using three different languages in the series.

Unfortunately, the series doesn't hold what the first episode promised. Obviously, the circumstances of its history are partly to be blamed: Filmed by a Korean company (one which is now known for productions of questionable quality) and never finished, the material was then boought by another Korean company, who tried to finish the series. I don't know how much editing and general post-production had been done at that point, but to me, it seems that it must have been either extremely poor or not at all -- the end product shows much unevenness, jumps in continuity, and in one case, material from either the casting videos or a workshop was obviously used.

The cast's performance varied between "poor" and "quite a bit better than adequate".

Another point that did not help with the overall quality was that the script tries both to be a Whacky Comedy With Much Silliness and a sweet Romance With Tragic Background. Combining these two very different genres into one whole is not an easy task, and then the script introduces a third plot-line of Conspiracies And Backstabbing. None of it is developed properly, plot lines appear and disappear at random, and some characters lose any characterisation they had. No effort in editing could have saved this. The interesting points I mention above are toned down or not used at all (For example, I would have gone overboard with the language thing and let every alien character speak different languages).

I suspect that the script was already poorly written, but that the production was started by one group of people (who had a specific idea what they wanted to make) and finished by another group (who probably put their own spin on it), was certainly the nail in the coffin.

The potential for a silly C-grade comedy series was there. But it never came to fruition.

Was it good?
Not really. There were some great ideas, but none of them were developed well.

Did I like it?
I kind of want to see a Japanese remake, I think that could be brilliant.

Would I recommend it?
No.

Loved it!

Ok so this isn't going to win any awards but if you love Jeff &/or Barcode and are looking for a chill slightly funny at times show full of utter nonsense this is your show. I was coming off of a couple pretty heavy shows so this was nice to just relax and enjoy. The PJ'S the put Jeff in should be the only thing he's allowed to wear! He's just a cute little adorable alien in this and Barcode always getting aggravated with him always made me smile. Like I said it's not winning any awards but I'm not wishing I could get the time I spent watching it back like other show (2gether, meow ears up & love is like a cat I'm looking at you). I went into it know it was supposed to be silly and ridiculous not thinking it was going to be some great epic. I mean it's about a alien and a bakery. 😂

?

I love this series, they could have made Air and Hachi end up tght, but overall this show is really dear to me, I waited for 4 years and I didn't expect it to be THAT good, I loved the chemistry, slow burn and how they really took it slow not rushing it even if there were only 8 eps. My Jeffbarcode did really good, I watched it in 3 hours and those 3 hours were the best of my life, it feels like letting them go for the second time not knowing when we are going to get a series with them again, I loved the storyline and how it was soo pure and cute

What a mess…

Wow… That was a complete mess. The plot was all over the place. Totally illogical. Choppy editing. Loads of little inconsistencies and continuity errors. Oftentimes zero transitions between scenes or emotions. Terribly written with awkward dialogue. The characters each spoke Thai, Korean, or English as, like, a character trait for no discernible reason. The whole thing felt beneath the dignity of the actors, especially Jeff. Jeff did his absolute best with what he was given. You could tell he was really trying to put genuine emotion and nuance into his acting, but there was only so much he could do with what he had to work with. I pretty much only stuck it out for him, and I guess it was diverting enough. Nothing overtly offensive, but also just so ridiculous and low quality entertainment. But maybe it was also kind of what I needed this week. Just to totally turn off my brain.

How do you say 3 or 4 or 5 years of waiting for shit like the story itself is pointless, such a strangely general story. Personally, I'm very annoyed by such motives, but... their chemistry has gone numb since KimPorshe, oh, I'm very disappointed, but also... It's just my opinion and I don't dare criticize my opinion.

It's such a shame because the cast is actually good. I swear, the whole series feels like a fever dream—or you know those B-list Hollywood sci-fi movies? Exactly like that. It looks cheap, and I don't understand why they forced a joint project when the actors don't even speak each other's languages. Like... was that really the best choice?

A ONE TIME WATCH.

BEFORE YOU READ THIS REMEMBER THAT I INTEND FOR NO HATE/ DISRESPECT TO THE ACTORS NOR AM I MAKING A PERSONAL COMMENTARY TOWARDS ANYONE IN ANY ASPECT. I AM SIMPLY GIVING MY OPINION. KEEPING THIS IN MIND PLEASE CONTINUE!
I seriously am one of those fans who have been waiting for this series since a really long time, and I was very happy when I came to know the series is going to be released. I really do understand why Jeff and Barcode are hyped. I really get it. You get to see an entirely different version of themselves, not the same version which we saw in Kinnporsche. Let's break the characters one by one:
1) Jeff is a phenomenal actor. This dude slayed it with his looks, expressions and dialogues. The outfits I feel could have been better. They could have gone with something better than what they gave him and all the other aliens. It was too typical. I really liked the white fit he wore though. I feel it suited him. In that scene where Barcode is like mesmerized by his looks and stares at him (Me too) the way it was captured was pretty impressive, but at the same time pretty standard. I don't know how to explain it but yeah, that scene showed his features in like a phenomenal way and I could see that alienish face of his (Once you see the scene you'll get it). I feel his character was poorly written tho. Jeff deserves better.
2) Barcode: Can I say that Barcode did his best but disappointed me? It was like he was not giving his whole acting potential into the series. His face his innocence is overall personality voice able to match that innocent young boy who is struggling a lot and has gone through a lot of stuff in life. I hate saying this, but his acting didn't exactly impress me. The scene in which he comes to know who killed his parents. He could have done SO MUCH better. I really couldn't get those vibes which was supposed to be conveyed. Overall I feel he couldn't match the charisma of Jeff. How much affection I had for him in Kinnporsche I couldn't exactly feel that for him here in Wooju Bakery.
3) JeffBarcode chemistry: AMAZING. They were amazing together, but there was lack of good scenes and no room for character development. I wish they got better dialogues and scenes. I mean I could feel sparks in certain scenes but JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE JEFFBARCODE!!!! Also yeah there relationship was left incomplete btw. They could have given us a better ending for RaolWuju!!!
4) Other opinions: Overall a series that had an amazing cast but failed to utilise their full potential. Other actors overall did a good job but yeah the actor playing the dog (no insult to the actor/character but I forgot his name) could have acted better. He felt out of place in some scenes except for the ones in which he was acting like a full blown dog. (No insults whatsoever) The person who played the princess did an AMAZING JOB! My love towards the actor and character. Also his character could have had better scenes with the Policeman. I mean I get it the series was short but yeah it could be shown better. Everything felt rush. Was the wait worth it? I mean seeing JeffBarcode in this vibe it was. Too bad their talents weren't fully utilised.

Overall summary in one sentence: IT'S A ONE TIME WATCH!

So much fun!

Omg, it’s so funny! Feels very similar to Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. It’s silly and ridiculous and absolutely adorable. I laughed so hard I was crying, and the guys are so, so sweet! If you’re looking for heavy drama- this ain’t it. But if you’re looking for lighthearted fun and laughs, then this is definitely the one to watch.
That they are all speaking different languages makes it even more awesome. I think this will be one that I keep on hand for days that I just need a little pick-me-up. I’m watching late at night and was worried my laughter would wake people up.
