Main couple is SLOW burn, side couples are spicey fluff!
Venus and Sky’s relationship is rocky, Venus is hard on Sky for (I believe) an unfair reason but he believes he has his reasons and you do get flashbacks that show his perspective. Janus, Venus’ older brother, and his BF Bomb are super cute, so are the main couples best friends; Tonkla and Baitong. Each side couple have some spicey moments and some realistic relationship issues, that they actually talk about! (Not super common in Thai BL’s so I was pleasantly surprised) The acting isn’t fantastic but it’s not too painful to watch either, IMO, plus I love the playful teasing between Janus and Venus and the relationships between the best friends. They probably didn’t need 10, one hour long episodes or should’ve added a little more substance to the plot but if you want something mostly fluffy and kinda funny with some cheesey tropes then in, a show that’s easy to follow and or can played in the background then it’s fine. I’d give it a solid 8.5 for showing actual communication between all the couples, to varying degrees at different point but they do actually talk to each other and say how they feel most of the time. I’ll definitely be finishing it but not likely re-watching.Was this review helpful to you?
Good storyline, great acting!
it’s an early review cause the show is only halfway done but damn it’s good. A friend of mine was watching along from the beginning and highly recommended it but I hadn’t gotten around to it until now and boy was I mad at myself for that. at the same time, I’ve now been able to binge watch the whole first half of the show and it’s been great! Not the biggest budget but it’s well made, the acting is on point, not really a spoiler but it has snakes in it too and I’m an avid reptile lover. I highly recommend if you enjoy quality shows with a good balance of drama, comedy and solid storytelling! Was this review helpful to you?
A sweet yet punchy political dramedy with heart, and a lot of guts!
Genuinely such an enjoyable show. It's a politial comedy with a distinct romantic thread and it shows the value of bonds between both family and friends. It has good pacing, great acting and is well executed in both storyline and production. The characters are well written and well developed, with good chemistry amongst the cast, shown in both the romantic and platonic connections between characters. The humour is quite on point for this style of dramedy and although there are some mildly cringey moments, it's not an uncomfortable cringe but a welcome one. The dramatised, lakorn-style acting may not be to everyone's taste but it's well executed by this cast and the clear lines between the comedic and serious moments is certainly appreciated; this show has made me cackle like the wicked witch of the west and my body wrack with sobs, multiple times, on both counts. One thing's for sure, the overal message of the show; that a person's freedom is worth fighting for and that everyone deserves love, is abundandtly clear in how these characters learn about each other, love and respect each other and are willing to fight for each other. I will definitely be adding this one to the tops of my re-watch and recommend lists. Was this review helpful to you?
