Good, yet a tad rushed

To be honest, this series will always have a special place in my heart, considering the manwha it is one of my favs and has been my 2nd ever drama I have seen. Song Kang brings well the MC, and the monster side is a delight.
The 3rd, and final season was good. I was happy that most of the platoon lived alongside Sargent KIM.
THE antagonist actor did a great job, yet his greed and selfish side brought his doom, considering he used all as his pawns.
The bickering between Cha Hyeon Su and Lee Eun Hyeok was gold, even if one was special infected and the other a neohuman.
Pity they made the FL go through the monsterization, but she has found her place and her brother and one she loved being near, helping her regain her emotions.
In the end, not all could come back (the many characters that died old or new), but those who could, each will wait for.
A bittersweet ending to this beautiful horror trilogy.
Yes, it was a rushed ending and a lot of things still could be shown, but overall I liked it.
the OST could been better too:)))
A bit late for the review, but now I had the free time.

Good Enough

Korean Drama '' Sweet Home Season Three '' gives the final conclusion to the story.

As the story progressed, the series lost more and more of the charm that it engaged the audience in the first season. Here, they were trying to bring back some of it, and, at times, they had succeeded. And the finale was full of action and emotional scenes indeed. However, there were parts that were rushed and others that were too far prolonged.

As for the performances, everyone did a great job and the result was enjoyable.

So, overall, six out of ten.

Way better than season two

This season was better than season two for sure. I liked the storyline much better and was happy we got more of Song Kang as well as Lee Do-Hyun. The chemistry and storyline between the two of them was my favorite thing about the season. I think they wrapped up the series well for straying from the original story a bit. Overall a good show, but season one was their best.

I loved the second half of the drama

The final seasonis much better, can't quite compare to season 2, it delivers much more action, and it was great to finally see our main characters consistently featured in every episode.

One of the highlights was the interaction between Cha Hyeon and Lee Eun; it was genuinely fun to watch. Lee Eun especially shines due to her unwavering loyalty to both characters, even when facing off against the monsters.

On the other hand, the character of Park Chan was quite annoying. His obsession with her and constant overreactions really detracted from the experience for me.
The second half of the series was fantastic—I really enjoyed the drama and the intense plot developments. It’s a real shame that so many characters had to die, but I’m happy with how things ended for our main trio. That last scene was perfect!

wdym eun hyuk spent season 2 looking for hyun su and her brother just for hyun su to go to yisu instead of showering her with love and affection and for her brother to return with the emotions of a wall.

The Redemption of a Series

After the mess that was the season 2 I thought this series is dead and I almost didn't want to watch season 3. But man, this was a good show and i liked the most of it. There are still many stupid illogical details but at least the series had a focus and gave each character a purpose and a proper conclusion.

Watching the series, I realized how much I care about the characters and it was very emotional to witness their pain and tragic fates. This is thanks to the actors who looked very attractive and authentic. Also the excellent soundtrack that often sounded like church music contributed to the atmosphere.

I especially liked the use of religious elements and symbols that subtly indicated order in the midst of chaos. All the characters, whether human or monster or specially infected or neohumans, they all found their purpose and a kind of redemption. In my opinion, the authors managed to return the series to its original roots and conclude the story in a great way and i couldn't be happier about it.

I WAS LOOKING FOR ACTION PACKED SCENES BUT...

I will be giving a quick review. We all have different opinions and reactions about the series and I totally understand you.

It's been awhile since I watched the s1 and 2 but the s3 is not that giving a strong impact, unlike the s1 where I anticipated for another season. Is it because the story is kinda bland? As well as the actors. Yes, they are handsome, and pretty but their characterstic lack something. There is something unique that I wanted to see, because the s3 has a lot of characters and I don't have time to watch the s2 again to remember those characters.

I am okay with fast paced, but I got bored at ep2 because there are a lot of emotional scenes going on, where's the thrill? the action? Unlike from the s1, it is much more thrilling, that will made you on the edge of your seats. There is nothing like that with s3.

What I found exciting was the part of Lee Eunhyeok and Hyunsu only. The reunited of the trio and nothing else. I mean I still finished this in 2 days but re-watching? nahh

They lack the actions and mysterious scenes, that I anticipated to see.

That was disappointing

I just finished this today and after a very short, rushed finale... I'm pretty disappointed. I loved S1, we all loved S1. S2 was kinda a mess, especially after the time skip. And now this.. A lot of people say it's at least better than S2, but it was just so unsatisfying.
In S2 they essentially eliminated most of the main crew for no reason right from the beginning. (Still mourning Ji Su's unfair/anticlimactic death after her life was saved with surgery in S1 and she inherited the sword... And never got to use it.) I can only imagine they wanted to use the popularity from S1 while essentially turning this into a totally different series and had to scramble to regain some of what they lost in this last season.
This season was just still so lacking. Part of the greatness of S1 was the unique monsters that were well thought out and obviously born from people's desires, but this season had none of that. (They even still had a couple creative monsters in S2 like the wedding dress woman, the shopping monster, and the guy covered in medical supplies at the lab.) Instead we suddenly had neohumans, which we'd seen none of previously and really didn't fit into the story. It was never explained how someone turns into a neohuman instead of a monster, or even why monsters were innately afraid of them. Just because they were 'superior'? It seemed like it came out of nowhere just so Eun Hyeok could come back looking normal.
So this season was all about working up to a big clash between monsters and humans that never really happened. Yi Su supposedly can turn people into monsters but that ability seems mostly ineffective. The only made two "real" monsters, and an army of mindless zombies. The zombies got all cut up in the battle but Hyun Su was still somehow able to rescue them afterwards, even though it seemed to totally exhaust him to turn even one person back before. And Nam Sang Won! He really put up the most pathetic fight. (Also what was he doing loitering around the lab for an entire year?) Why didn't his body's owner try to take over sooner, like when he was crippled from the car accident in S2? How did he even get back into that body after he burnt it? Why didn't he pick literally any other body there that wasn't already injured? It's like they tried for this epic final battle with huge numbers of people, but the actual battle was very lame and anticlimactic. Everything after the battle too was very rushed... And for no reason, they could've had plenty more time over this season instead of making every episode but one 40 minutes long.
Really everything was just so inferior to S1 aside from the acting. S1 had some amazing cinematography, interesting characters, good music, and was exciting for the entire season. S2 and 3 are better if you think of them as a spinoff from the original or even a fanfiction set in the same universe, but so underwhelming if you want them to continue the same story.

ambitious build up with a questionable ending

** major major ending spoilers and profanity**

Okay so like wtf just happened. There are a couple things I am still lost about.
1) what the hell happened to Yi Su. Like let’s be so for real, she’s always had amazing healing powers like when she got shot as a kid, so there’s no way she died from a single stab. We even saw her like scream then never see her again.
2) what the hell happened to Yeong-Su. Like, ain’t no way they’re making him live the rest of his life as a monster. He should hate monsters considering he lost his entire family to them, so him wanting to be a monster made no sense.
3) what the hell was that with the sang won dude. Ui myeong whatever his name is. Like, bros power is being able to change bodies everytime he’s close to death, so how come they killed him off by burning him, WHICH HAS NEVER WORKED BEFORE. And and how the hell is that gangster dude still alive. We literally watched him burn to crisp then next second he came back to the screen with a whole body and everything. What the fuck. I am not comprendoing.
4) also what the hell happened to eun yu. Ain’t no way she became a neo human that fast.

The ending kind of made sense cause hyun su can’t go and reverse everybody that’s turning into a monster, so I guess that’ll work. It’s basically just humans evolving to another stage, so shouldn’t they want everyone to become neohuman(?) sure, they don’t have feelings but they can learn, like eun hyeok.

Overall, solid watch. Questionable points in the last episode, but I’m satisfied

Not like other 2 seasons

What can I even say about this legendary drama . It was the last season and I liked it but I think the last story could have been better .
Season 1 was the best among the series but season 2 and 3 are not like season 1 . it was good but could have been better the stories were in some place not very fitting the plot of the drama many unnecessary things were shown. It could have been more better and the fighting scenes could have been more included in the last series and the ending of season 3 was kind of disappointing for me it could have been much more it had potential.
Overall the series is good but someplace it will make you think hard - Was that even needed.....

Rushed, but still highly entertaining

Sep 2024
I love the Sweet Home trilogy and whilst S1 is still my favourite, the 3 combined make for gripping viewing.
As much blood and gore as in S1&2, but far fewer monsters, as this final instalment focuses on the main characters that survived S2, together with a slight twist to the story.
Song Kang is brilliant in this, to my mind. He doesn't overplay the part, but exudes a kind of power and always gave me the feeling there was something more to his monster side.
Further characters lost in S2 are swiftly replaced by the fast moving storyline... a little too fast at times.
There are several surprises, but a couple could get lost in clarity and importance, if not getting enough concentration.
Couple of totally bizarre storylines as well... one being the little boy from S1, which definitely had me scratching my head.
The final scenes were a bit weird and in one instance for me, slightly disappointing, but at the same time not without emotion.
I might give it a break and then watch the whole thing (S1-3) from start to finish.
I really hate these stupid season breaks Netflix and other Western production companies, inflict on us. Really spoils the flow and when the gap between is ridiculously long, the story definitely suffers. Cramming the story's conclusion into the final 2 episodes, doesn't help either.
Having said that, I loved the cast, the premise and with how my imagination carried the conclusion forward, what I perceive as the intention behind the ending too.

A great way to describe this season (and the previous one) is disappointment.

The last season did not have a conclusion at all so this season just started like in the middle of it. And because I saw the second season when it was released there have been some time since I saw it. So, when I started watching this season I did not feel invested at all because all the tension the second season finale had disappeared because of the time between watching it. It also did not help that I weren't invested in the previous season which carried over to this season.

This season has the same problems as the previous one. There are too many characters that were introduced in the previous season and they don't really do anything with them. The newer characters lack so much depth.

Just like the previous season there were some character deaths but I did not really feel anything for them. Does not compare at all to the first season where I would actually feel for the characters.

At least Cha Hyeon Su had some more moments in this season than the previous one. But I was still disappointed, he also just felt really flat compared to the first season.

The pacing feels slow (but better than the previous season). I feel like the show has to many storylines that they want to follow but because of the quantity the all lack quality and any real depth. It makes me not feel that invested in any of them.

Something I couldn't help but notice was the unnecessary flashbacks. Like there would be flashback for a conversation that was literally showed two minutes ago. Like how dumb those the writers think the viewers are??

Another thing that kept bothering me was that I felt like the characters could so easily just enter and walk around the stadium after it was taken over. Like everyone could just roam freely? It didn't really feel like that much of a threat.

Just like the season the ending felt flat and was disappointing. It would have been difficult to make a decent ending to a show like this, but the ending was just really boring to be honest.

Just like the previous season I felt like this season also had fan service. In the way that the male characters are like so well put together. Like walking around with stylish clothes and perfect hair. It feels a bit silly to be honest, like this is supposed to be a apocalyptic world? Kinda ruins the setting.

I can't really complain about the production. It had the same level as the previous season.
