Better than S2 but severely lacking depth.

This season is better than season two by far. There were no randomly new characters showing up, we got some answers, and we got characters meeting back up or banding together in different forms.

However, this season (and season 2 too) is severely lacking in depth, development, and plot.
This season, especially the last 2-3 episodes, was rushed immensely. There is no time for our characters to actually interact in a way that feels genuine - we're literally given a minute to just be on board with Cha Hyun-su, Lee Eun-hyeok, and Lee Eun-Yu finally meeting again, Hyun-Su and Eun-Hyeok fighting for a minute, and then suddenly accepting to go somewhere together! We deserved a whole episode of this just by itself! I was so hyped to see the emotions and the explanations for them all meeting again, but it's literally done in about 3 minutes in the show and the show expects us to just accept it and move on because they split up again pretty quickly too! This show absolutely wasted and ruined the moment it could've been -, also there is no time taken to explain or deepen the lore or answer questions, there is no time spent on building up to some of the big moments of this season (Yi-kyung, final baddie fight, remeeting with a character from season one, the actual ending!).

This show needs at least 16 more one long episodes so our characters, the world, the story, and the lore actually has enough time to breathe on screen, to develop in a realistic manner, and to actually give us a satisfactory story.

The best part of this show is the acting! I cannot flaw one single actor in this. All of them did an amazing job with their scenes, with each other, and their parts. It's just such a shame that the story and the script was not enough to really let them show everything they have.

WE ARE ALL OUR OWN MONSTERS

This drama has a lot of going on but there was nothing really happening, There was no beginning for each characters , they were just happened to be at the apartment at first and then suddenly some characters came until this last season I guess, then the crazy scientist came and then later a crazier scientist came as seems the villain at this drama and then Cha Hyun Su , someone who was able to control himself from being monster and then at the end they became one, and good looking soldiers getting killed by a monsters that seems like cars that transformed into human shape HAHAH , and then at the end there was this Neo Human , human or monsters with no emotions but has a memories .. I did not know if Hyun su was able to retrieve back everyone at the end their human .. maybe not
What I did understand behind about this drama is my review title itself .. the drama has shown that one when not able to control their desires becomes monster and live in a dream inside .. same as in reality .. we are all monsters who has desires when we are not able to control them , sometimes we become cruel , example when someone who's world is money sometimes they kill, sometimes they deceive others, they rob , they confront and worst they hurt themselves to get what they want .. For some reasons I think the reason why I was able to finish this one is the visual and props production, the action parts the actors too I guess .. butnot gonna rewatch this one .. worth watching ? nahh.

Almost home Sweet Home

Season 2 made the huge blunder that The Walking Dead did by splitting off a whole group of characters that miraculously have great chemistry together and added tons of new characters with much less interesting storylines instead of further developing the characters that had on going potential from season 1. When the season 2 characters and storylines were eliminated throughout season 3, it was a relief really. It's just that doing so took up all the screen time when they should have used at least left half the episodes to properly conclude the stories of the Sweet Home OGs.

It was absolutely fantastic to finally see Hyun Su, Eun Yu, Eun Hyeok back together. It's a such a bummer that the rest of the Sweet Home OGs like Yi Kyung and Jin Ok get killed off, especially the latter in the most unceremonious way. All of the OG crew were the heart of the show and deserved to get the screen time back together. I really enjoyed the storyline of Hyun Su's alternate personality. He's so funny getting a whole haircut and new outfit. Even though he wants to be intimidating and ruthless, he's weak for Eun Yu, because Cha Hyun Su at heart is.

It would have been amazing to also see the journey of neohuman Eun Hyeok finding his love for his precious sister again, his friendship with Hyun Su. Eun Yu's monsterization process and subsequent relearning of her feelings as well as neohuman, the community they build into the new Sweet Home, and Hyun Su and Eun Yu finally acknowledging their feelings for each other. Even Yi Kyung's kid's next form. There is so much left that it could have been a season 4. They didn't even have enough time for a proper montage and just had image stills instead and the three on the roof top. The show deserved at least two more episodes like the first season to explore a bit more before closing out.

not the most satisfying but it was bittersweet

seeing hyunsu and eunyu and eunhyuk all in one scene is the highlight for everyone right or is that just me lol??? not gonna lie, i don't always fully understand what's happening since s2 but when those 3 were all together, i was like, this is worth it lmao acting-wise, my god, no complaints here but lee siyoung as yikyung saving her daughter? so incredible, probably my favorite performance overall. song kang changing from hyunsu to his alter ego monster, good. i do like when pretty actors play these psychopathic or villainous characters. go minsi is always amazing. in this last season we had some side stories i love (hani and that ahjussi), side stories i didn't care much for (the priest and sunhwa, sorry!), scenes i love (again the main 3 + hyunsu vs eunhyuk scene, sergeant tak's way of saving the remaining survivors, yikyung and yisu etc etc) and so many questions still (neohumans???). i think there's so much still to explore with the neohumans and yisu's potential. so many of our characters from s1 wasn't there anymore. the last few eps of this is like waiting for how the next character woud die actually. in the end, it was just bittersweet

If you can, just pretend this drama only had one season, I wish I had...

While S3 wasn't the same complete waste of space S2 was, it just felt like a total waste of potential. The plot was exciting in theory but in practice it felt both too slow and too fast with pivotal scenes getting little screentime to instead focus on half-assed characters with less personality than a piece of cardboard.

Tell me why I was BEGGING for characters, even main characters, to die throughout the season so that we would have less people to focus on? Even the characters I liked ended up having their personalities scrapped by the end with no proof of character development for any of them.

The plot was right there, the actors were good, they had everything going for them but I guess they just bit off more than they could chew.

If you fall in love with this you can be consumed...Be careful ?

I think I'm consumed with the never-ending monsterization crisis.
I still haven't recovered from yesterday's bomb ❤️😶‍🌫️
Season 3> We've got everything solved in the end but it seems like we've lost something during the endless search to resolve all the problems.

To understand this last season you must fully watch the previous 2 season before...(doing that you will get to know how the characters begun and end up here)

Hyun Su blue eye's(in the monsterization phase) were so cool, his flamed wing getting out of the acidic bus was a blow mind scene,
the hard work that he had to do, unmonsterizating others, was touching...)

I was hoping to get know more about the cocoon/neonhuman Eun yeok, but it seems like 8 episodes wasn't enough to explain all the things by details.

I thought that Eun yu, Yi su, Young Su transition would appear on the screen but 😑...

But It was original, bombastic, comic, thrilling, and mesmerising for me to see how all the cast developed their characters in a way that were able to complete this master piece.
Well done 👏👏👏👏👏
My huge thanks for all the Production team, Directors,Graphic and visual artist, the cast...to everyone that worked hard, days and sleepless nights, to complete this 3 memorable and fantastic season of the serie "스위트 홈".

Could've been 6 episodes....

Idk if this is based off of a webtoon or manga, so maybe they were trying to stick to a certain story?

Season 1 was great. Great casting, acting and story. Little to no skips. Season 2 they gut the acting and replace some characters. Story was mid. Acting was average to above average. A lot of skips or watching with the speed at 2x.

Season 3. The 2 kids were the most entertaining and well written, probably by accident. Go Min Si and Lee Do Hyun were amazing. Song Kang with another robot performance. Every scene he was in whether he was angry, happy, sad or trying to be funny.....just a straight face almost like he was confused.

If you were expecting redemption from how bad season 2 was, you'll be disappointed. Only giving it a 7 because Go Min Si and Lee Do Hyun were that good.

It can have spoiler in it.

So first of all hello to those that read my review. And for those that watch Sweet Home please watch it from Season 1.

Sweet Home how should i begin, I watch all 3 Seasons and it was one the Series of all the althought i didn't understand the story at first. Season 1 was somewhat hard to understand but it has a really good Storyline and the Acting was also good the casting was the best there where parts where i didn't understand the Story but it was really and the ending was somewhat mystery but that was actually the reason to watch Season 2.

Season 2 was actually even harder to understand the Story because it will flip from one Story to another so it was little hard to understand but eventually it can be understand and it was really good acting and action line, but then the end was really suprising but it is yet the reason to watch Season 3 and oh boy.

Season 3 first of all i didn't know a would this into Sweet Home i watch it over and over anyway back to Season 3 it was beyond expectation the Story the Action the Visual and the return of some people and other dying it was really worth while waiting for all 3 Seasons i love Sweet Home and i think i will be watching it again for a long time.
Thank you for reading this far, I hope you will also love Sweet Home when you watch.

Loved it but sad with the ending

So the only reason I'm not giving the story a full 10 is because of the ending. I loved this show but I wish they had given us a little bit more as I'm left with many questions.
Does Eun Yu regain her emotions?
Did her brother really smile because he felt something, or was it just a learned smile?
What happened to Yi Su? Is she alive with or without her abilities?
While I would love to have these questions answered, I do understand the mystery element and I will be watching this show again and again. ❤️

We all need a sweet home to return to

If you didn't like season 2's shift of focus from the survivors we've grown to love to a whole new group of survivors in a new setting, you might be thinking season 3 won't have much to offer you.

Yes, the season 2 characters are still around, but the core 5 from season 1 (Cha Hyeon Su, Pyeon Sang Uk, Lee Eun Hyeok, Seo I Kyeong and Lee Eun Yu) are back in the spotlight for this final gory monster filled outing.

So let's start with the good: Lee Do Hyun is back after being absent for practically all of the second season. That appearance at the end of season 2 and the long wait for this season had me anticipating the brother and sister reunion between his character Lee Eun Hyeok and Go Min Si's character Lee Eun Yu.

Did it live up to the hype and delusions I singlehandedly built up by myself? Well, it wasn't bad. I kind of wish we got more interactions out of their characters but I can see why they wanted to wrap things up quickly.

Speaking of interactions: Cha Hyeon Su played by Song Kang has more of a prominent role this season. Despite being THE star of the drama, he was noticeably absent from most of season 2. I mean, sure, he was around, but with the introduction of new characters, he story arc felt like a side quest instead of the main story. I personally couldn't care less about his character if it meant he wouldn't be interacting with the complete cast of survivors (those who didn't die, of course) from season 1.

Anyway, the narrative once again focuses on Cha Hyeon Su's internal conflict and battle with his alter-ego. I couldn't been happier not as a Song Kang fan but as a fan of consistent storytelling. Really, the bar was so low this season. At the very least, I wanted the writers to follow through with plotlines and story threads that they introduced in the first season. I'm easy to please, dammit!

Rambling on with the good comes the acting. It wasn't a stellar story overall, but everyone's acting was great. You really felt the emotions from the characters. Kudos for all of those involved who took an "ok" script and made it slightly above average just with their acting.

That brings me to the bad: The story. While I praise the acting, the story felt rushed and boring at some parts. Around episode 5 is where I felt the pace picked up. I know it's an 8 episode drama, but I feel like the buildup was there for a good sendoff, but the writers kind of fumbled it by speed running to the end and throwing in lots of deaths that lacked emotion.

Also, there were story arcs that I didn't care about along with characters that, while entertaining, added no value to the overall narrative. I've had similar thoughts in season 2, but I was generally still seated because I knew (hoped) this season would be a return to what I loved about the drama in the first place: a great emotionally driven story.

The thing that confused me the most was the lack of attention on the new species called Neohuman's. Season 2's ending had me hype to see what would happen with their inclusion in the overall story. Were these Neohuman's gonna be on the side of good, bad or a neutral party? How were our characters gonna deal with this new possible threat in a world already full of other threaty-threats?

Well, we don't really get an answer to those questions exactly. Instead, the Neohuman's just seemed like a convenient excuse to cut down on the budget, but hey, I don't blame them though! Those CGI trash monster/transformer hybrids from last season were ridiculous and borderline offensive.

I'm closing this review with something positive. The ending was pretty good. Not great, but good. It actually made me emotional. Even with the flaws and narrative missteps that plagued this season, it was still bittersweet to see things come full circle and the three main characters we've followed the journeys of since season one return home.
