Summer Vacation Episode 2

Episodes 1 & 2: Slower Than Slowpoke Rodriguez

A teenage romance about an 18-year-old high school girl (old enough to finally reach the light switch) who dreams of something extraordinary breaking up her boring routine. She ends up spending her summer vacation in a small, sleepy town, where she meets a boy who is also trying to escape his family's expectations and control.Basically, the two protagonists have one thing in common: shitty families. These first two episodes move at the speed of Slowpoke Rodriguez, Speedy Gonzales' cousin. Not because nothing happens, but because the show is so obsessed with creating a contemplative summer romance atmosphere that it ends up turning the characters' monotonous lives into a monotonous experience for the audience.Although episode 2 ends with an incident that promises to bring some tension to the story, I suspect it's just the classic melodramatic cliffhanger designed to keep viewers hooked until next week.In other words, a desperate attempt to stop us from dropping the show too soon.I seriously doubt this is going to turn into a crime thriller or anything remotely similar. That's just my prediction.Don't be fooled by the blood. Remember *The Agent Kim*? The daughter practically lost three liters of blood and didn't even mess up her hair.Ultimately, this is a slow-paced, slice-of-life teenage romance. And I'm almost certain that's exactly what it will remain.**For now, zero out of five stars.**
