Like an empty plate: we're gonna need it for the food later on, but for now it's just an empty plate of background context (which is kinda endearing, so a plate with designs at least)

The introduction, depth, relationships and time, this is one of the most well written first episodes I’ve seen. We’re introduced on early maturity and hardships that are followed by character development. Resemblance was a major thing as well and it connected to the impacts on characters. The scenery blew me away, the sunset’s and oceans, it was so beautiful. The cast did an amazing job too, props to the mother and daughter, they both presented themselves so well and really captured the emotions and demonstrated great relationships.

For a first episode of a Netflix OTT series, I must say I am very impressed by how it was able to fully capture my attention and even brought me to tears! I truly empathised the mother and daughter bond between Aesun and her mother and the mother passing away while Aesun was so young was heartbreaking. It infuriated me too that Aesun could never leave and pursue her dreams cuz her useless father kept finding stupid excuses to hold her back, unlike a true father.

Episode 1 of When Life Gives You Tangerines beautifully sets up Ae-sun and Gwan-sik’s story with stunning visuals and heartfelt performances. Its nostalgic charm and emotional depth make it a promising start.

I wasn't expecting myself to start bawling my eyes out that soon into the drama. Episode was paced well and laid the background of the characters and the environment to the viewers smoothly. The cinematography set in Jeju was a delicious, visual feast. It was very easy for me to get invested in the characters. Solid acting by all the cast.

This is super worth it to watch. I love everything about this drama. The casting director did a great job. The cinematography, chemistry, quality acting is top tier. This is my life drama already. The child actor and actress and Aesun mother acting skills highlights in this episode. I love it so much.

this spring is start of history..and more to come..from intro to end they kept the right pace and flow and showed characters dynamics building show for all the way to last

Estava tão ansiosa para começar esse drama, e minhas expectativas foram atendidas e até superadas. Que episódio maravilhoso! Fiquei tão imersa na infância da Ae Sun e na relação com sua mãe que nem vi o tempo passar. Me emocionei, chorei e estou empolgada com o desenrolar dos próximos episódios.
