Princess Wan Ning wants Fang Fei to retract her statement against Shen Yu Rong and in return she will release her brother Xue Zhao. Due to her changed statement, Shen Yu Rong goes free and Fang Fei is imprisoned for making false statements. Shen Yu Rong convinces Princess Wan Ning to have the emperor issue a decree of marriage with Fang Fei. Though he intends to protect her this time, Fang Fei is skeptical and instead rushes to Duke Su.
