Director Statement
In high school, anything abnormal can be easily targeted for bullying. Especially opening LGBT individuals or groups will face social judgment from the surrounding. In this case, high school students don't have enough maturity to understand these people but instead act out to bully them for satisfaction. Even If is written to illustrate how social pressure on opening LGBTQ+ affects them deep inside physically and mentally. Words are like bullets, with all the bullying and sexual harassment of LGBT people can ruin their lives without no one responsible. Some people did not even have a problem with LGBT people but when it's become a trend or target, it is like entertainment to follow those actions, With limited time to build a relationship for the characters, the montage will be involved a lot to balance the reasons of situation and action of the story. The story includes a dramatic line and expressions, color and tone will be a major key to helping the visual get more emotional. Was this review helpful to you?
Love is a terrible thing to hate.
Everything is moving forward, each day we learn something new about our world and society. Yet some people still don't understand, that having different opinion is not an excuse for violence or hatred, because opinions are like assh*les - we all have one.N O T S P O I L E R F R E E / N O M A J O R S P O I L E R S
Cin and May go from friends to lovers, not hiding their relationship from nobody, especially not from their schoolmates. At the beginning everything is rosy pink and they are happy, but one person is enough to trigger a chain of bullying and hate. Sometimes hard times bring us closer to each other and sometimes it is what tears us apart, even tho the love is still there. And that's how it goes for Cin and May...
There's nothing much to write about Even If, it's short, well written and shot movie that leaves sour taste in your mouth and breaks your heart. A theme that we see too often in LGBTQIA+ movies, dramas, books... And we will keep seeing it for a while, unfortunately.

My November 2025 recommendation
Watched this for my Recommendation Challenge from 𝑨𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒏𝒂𝑻𝒉𝒆𝑺𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒓𝑿"Even If" is a short film that sheds light on school bullying and excessive violence, while also highlighting the struggles faced by LGBT individuals in a judgmental society.
It tells the story of May and Cin—two close friends who fall for each other.
The only problem? They’re both girls. And as teenagers, that alone makes their relationship a target. At first, their friends seem supportive—or at least stay silent.
But things change when Tae, a charming new student, arrives and starts teasing them. His influence makes the other girls, who are drawn to him, begin bullying May and especially Cin. The pressure builds, day after day.
So how does their relationship hold up in the end?
Can May and Cin survive the judgment of those around them?
Or will they break apart under the weight of fear, shame, and constant bullying?
That's pretty much the story without giving anymore spoilers. In the end this truly highlights the challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community—especially for young people trying to love openly in an unaccepting world.
For just 27 min, it’s really worth your time to watch it…

Most Realest GL Movie I've Ever Watched.
I usually don't write reviews on movies, mainly short films.I liked this I think its very underrated, why do I think this? Well... I feel like this is the most realistic gl movie I have watched. As a person who has gotten bullied for being a lesbian it is hard and it sucks... the feeling absolutely suck because all you're trying to do is love. I think this is as real as it could be. My heart broke at seeing Cin and May getting bullied and I would love to say I was more like May but no, I wasn't, I was more like Cin and just keeping a low profile and not saying anything does not work and it definitely gave me trauma, but yes, this short film was one of the greatest short films I have ever watched and maybe it's because I relate to it. I also loved the characters, May trying to protect Cin is literally so wholesome and sad at the same exact time. 9/10 says a lot for me, I usually don't rate stuff this high.
