The Truth of Scent

While different time periods, both are historical/mystery dramas with a similar vibe, and interesting cases. One lead is trying to resolve the tragic death of someone close to him, and the other is an orphan with a master.

Both are Republican era mystery dramas with fantasy elements and a very similar vibe. Both MLs are talented investigators who have suffered personal tragedy. Both FLs pursue ML to the city after a meeting in the past. Both dramas have at least one case involving a stage magician's act that results in a murder on stage.

Both are Republican Era mystery dramas with a policeman and a girl with an unusually strong sense of smell working together to solve cases.

Both are mystery dramas with a Republican era setting in which a trio of two MLs and a FL are trying to catch a murderer.

Both dramas have a hidden character who commits serial murders in the name of punishing evil for the people, revolving around the idea that law cannot give justice to all.
Both have two MLs and one FL leading the investigations, though in SH they're all official police, while just self-proclaimed detectives in TToS.
There is a little more bromance/brotherhood in SH comparatively, though both do not hold this focus.
In SH, its the ML who strongly pursues a cold case, while its the FL in TToS.

- No romance in UTS
- UTS ML has extraordinary “sketching” ability vs it’s the FL in TOS who has a good scent detecting skill

Both are a Republican Era setting in which the intelligent FL teams with the detective ML in order to solve a series of connected murders with a recurring symbol/style left behind at each crime.

Both have MCs that rely on their strong sense of smell to pursue and solve cases. Both link to a past cold case of the MC
