my comfort drama
One of my favorite comfort drama of all it's one of the underrated drama when in fact t its all good. I like this drama because they focus on friendship, relationship and family. They talk about different kinds of grief and how to continue life with someone we loss whom we love so much The message of this drama is very deep and it directs in our hearts.Yong Pil and Sam Dal known each other since their childhood days they were inseparable that's why they developed their feelings beyond lovers. However when unfortunate thins happen they separate ways to never hurt the feelings of Yong Pils father who are against them to be together but they never give up infact they fight for they feelings and later on his father gave they blessing. But I got this second lead syndrome wherein I kinda love the pairing of Sam Dal and Sang Do hehehe. But I like that he gave his way for them.
I also like to have Hae Dal and MIN Chul longer moments together hoping they will have separate drama together that they are the lead stars.
Overall this drama is good.

The drama is worth watching
I think there was a very interesting main story, but also others.I thought the acting was great.
I also think it's good that the mother hasn't abandoned the son from her best friend or father over the years, just because the father was mad at her and blamed her for the death of his wife.
I thought the ending was great because he was also able to live out his dream in Switzerland and she was waiting for him.
I just loved watching every episode and think I could watch it again.
you should really give the drama a chance

Having a place to return to.
The ending lines of "Having a place to return to is an incredible feeling" resonates with me so much. Samdalri feels like a safe haven for not only our leads, especially Samdal. in more ways than one, it has become a place as such for me as well the last two months watching the dramathere's something incredibly healing about the show. the bonds and relationships, the companionship, the belonging to a community, your people your weather yiur place. there's nothing like home and there's nothing like having a place to return to, and people to support your dreams. yong pil goes further than just support samdal too there. but I loved how her comeback isn't just cause of him. she did cause she wanted to. love how yong pil was let her walk her way, but hung around to catch if and when she faltered. there's no pushing there, there's no imposing of his wishes her. letting her find herself was the best thing.
ep16 was everything.
My heart is so full. The bonds of family, friendship and community in this drama are just so precious. watching the last ep I felt like I was part of it all. ❤️
~As always, we're going for only as long as our breath allows without being greedy. And whenever we're out of breath, we'll come back to that place. Our small stream, Samdal-ri.
The OST is incredible. I'm so glad I discovered Cho Yong Pil through this. Short Hair has become an all time favourite song. The remastered versions are incredible. so is the Haenyeo song sung in Ep9. It's so hauntingly beautiful hasn't stopped ringing in my ears since I heard it.
though it had it's flaws early and meandering plotlines and maybe unnecessary air time given to certain plot lines which could have been better used somewhere else, the ending just makes up for it. that's one of the most beautiful, most satisfying heartfelt ending of a drama I have seen. my rating jumped from 8.5/9 to 9.5 and even a 10 just cuz of that episode. it's incredible.
and JCW standing in the snow smiling like that with that song in the background and there reunion? please. gorgeous. the power rangers are the best friend group ever and they deserved their second chances. second chances are indeed the underlying theme of the drama anyway.
a place to return to, and a second chance at making it right.
the acting is incredible. the casting is superb, no moment of over the top reactions, very subtle, very real very raw. the Haenyeo group reminds of the ladies in my town❤️ they are all precious.

Our Beloved Samdal-Ri
I watched this drama because of the amazing cast and my love for seaside dramas. I enjoyed Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha and thought I'd enjoy this one too. Well, I was not wrong.I loved the acting, storyline and OST. To be fair, the pace is pretty slow and I sometimes got annoyed because of Samdal since she was initally portrayed as a badass fl, but was hesitant to uncover the truth behind the scandal. However, I quickly realised that she maybe didn't feel the need to do so and was probably exhausted by the hectic continent life.
The story had many beautiful plots: Jindal and Daeyoung, Haedal and Dolphin Guy and more. I loved seeing Eunju going down and the fact that karma had hit her before Samdal spoke up. I clearly needed to do some thinking in order to understand that the storyline went on perfectly.
The last episode was amazing to watch and one of the best I've ever seen.
Thank you, Samdal-Ri!

It is a truly beautiful drama.
This was one of the dramas that make it feel close to real life.-The casting is amazing, like literally the best. The actors did not dissapoint at all. They deliverd all the emotions that was needed.
-The story is pretty good. It is not bad, but could have been better. Especially with the time travel. but despite this it was was a very heartfelt and emotional story. I cried a lot bcos the characters were either relatable or had a very sad story. Especially the main character they had such a sad yet heart-touching romance.
~ Every actor and actresses did a very good job especilly Kim Mi-Kyung. I always love her characters. and Ji Chang-Wook. I
have yet any other dramas with the FL.
~ The only character I despised but ended forgiving is Young-Pil's father. Like it was just annoying seeing him hate everyone
becouse of his pain and grief. Like no one told not to mourn for his late wife, but dening others to mourn was just wrong. But at
the end of it all I was glad that he came around.
~ Don't even get me started with that b*tch Eun-Ju, I hate the character . The actor is good to portray the character for me to
despise this much. But to some extent I feel like she complemented the story, bcos without her Sam-Dal and Young-pil won't
have met each other that soon.
- The ost's were all so good. I particularly love the scene where there were fights and everything would be in slow motion and a song would be playing in the backgroung. It made so entertaining.
Overall this drama was one of the best releases of last yr.
I fell in love with the show. I also enjoyed it.
I would really recommend to others.

Comfortable to watch!!!!!!
I stumbled upon this drama by complete accident but I wasn't left disappointed. It has everything: drama, sadness, happy moments, love and so on. I also liked how they highlighted how a person can grow trough out life. Some people have to grow young- others have to do it in their late years. There's no rule or saying you have to be this and that- just be yourself and don't be afraid to show it. I recommend this drama hope who is reading this enjoys it too. byebye. Was this review helpful to you?
A lovely, wholesome watch
I really enjoyed this drama. It wasn't perfect, but wholesomeness of the characters, and the superb acting (perfect casting) had me coming back every week for more. I seem to have gotten a lot pickier over the years and it's become hard for me to stick to a drama as it's airing unless I'm enjoying each episode. There were definitely things that we got too much of - literally no one cared about the second-lead? (I feel like he doesn't even deserve that title) weird one-sided love that lasted wayyyy too long. And then there were things that we wanted way more of like the youngest and oldest sister's stories (past, present, and future).
This drama had some beautifully written characters and development though, and that's what had me crying at some parts when their love and humanity shines through.
Plus, I understand the Korean dramas tend to be focused on the female perspective since that's their audience, but I would have loved to get some more focus on our male lead, Cho Yong-pil, too and see his life and perspectives fleshed out a bit more so that we could see why he fell Sam-dal and why he loves what he loves. I will say that the way Ji Chang-wook was constantly staring with so much love in his eyes, I had no trouble believing it (I just wanted some more backstory about his life).
The chemistry our main couple had was great, and I even wish we had some more scenes with kisses and other gestures of affection, although they are great at staring into each other's eyes affectionately.
The small town ensemble cast was wonderful and they all brought so much energy and fun to the screen, which makes you understand why small towns where everyone knows everyone can be a bit exhausting or frustrating when everyone knows your business, but also that it's a home you can always turn to for support.

looking for a comfort show? you got it!
this show might be your cup pf tea if you enjoy:- nostalgia
- deep analysis of platonic & romantic relationships
- tons of emotions
- amazing cinematography that makes you feel at home
- lovable cast
a story about finding your roots after living away from home for so long; we all know how busy our lives have become these days and this show portrays that perfectly, it also shows that even though it is great to be achieving your dreams and going your way to achieve success, someday you will need a break from your busy life.
a story about close friends, a great family bond, missing your childhood memories and home. this show shows that there are people around you who always wish for your best and want the best for you. you may feel left out, alone and invisible but there’s always going to be someone who is silently praying for your health and happiness. whether it be your family, or your childhood friends you keep no contact with anymore.
the reflection and healing in this show is something, the way you experience the characters’ healing process along with them, experiencing all different types of emotions. everyone is going through something different but the makers really did an amazing job by giving everyone more than enough spotlight so you can seriously see and understand them as a whole.
this is definitely comfort show worthy, it made me cry so many times because of the emotions i felt seeing the characters and their stories. the actors did an amazing job as well portraying their characters. well done!

The drama beautifully explores family, community, and the healing power of love.
This K-drama shared into the themes of family, sisterhood, career, community and most especially true love throughout its 16 episodes.I was initially drawn in by the central conflict, and hoping it will be resolved soon but along the few episodes, I found Sam Dal's journey toward inner peace with her family, particularly her soulmate Yong Pil.
In mirroring real life, it beautifully portrays how adversity can pave the way for profound connections, healing, and a peaceful resolution. love the storyline, moving performances, and commendable work from the entire team, it stands as one of the best K-dramas.
I had to cry so hard for the last two episodes, pure talent of the screenwriter and the entire production crew. Bravo!

Endearing and uplifting!
[Ticked the spoiler tag just in case] The drama has taught us many lessons, what to appreciate, and how to approach life positively even after going through many hardships. What caught my attention were the titles of each episode. They are meaningful and uplifting. True to its name, the drama showcased a lot of beautiful landmarks on that astonishing island; especially, the animation in the intro was so cute and endearing X3. Storywise, I think it has a good flow, but the way they handled the antagonist at the end felt a bit anti-climatic (in my opinion), because she was SO ANNOYING throughout the drama that I wanted her to get a taste of her own medicine in the most dramatic way possible (but it wasn't shown -_-). I feel sorry for Sang Do and hoped someone show up in the end to love him, but none (it's fine as it is tho X3). I also loved how all of the friend circles respect their friendships more than their personal feelings (most of the time). The way Samdal-ri was portrayed, their bond, and their history were breathtaking~ Last but not least, the OSTs were beautiful and befitting of the drama! My personal favorite is "Song of the Sea by Leeze".Was this review helpful to you?

The story and characters are terrible. The actors are great though and some scenes are good.
So basically the story centers around a narcistic female lead with a terrible personality and a pathetic ML who can't move on past his first love even though she did. There is not 1 redeeming quality that the FL has but all these guys are obsessed with her? I'm sorry but there is nothing romantic about a guy who can't get over his ex for 8 years even though she moved on. They make the ML this nice guy who helps everyone and is a genius weather forecaster, but ultimately he is just a pathetic guy that was hung up on his ex for 8 years which the entire town knows about. The story is very focused/centered on the FL and the ML is basically a side character.Do not get me started on the ridiculous love triangle that makes the ML even more pathetic. I wish they made these love triangles more organic than forced. Like they always show these sad scenes of the 3rd wheel being sad that the leads are together. Cmon now. Do the writers think it's romantic that 2 guys stay single and hold onto love for their childhood friend for decades into their mid 30's? At least the ML and FL have history, but the 3rd wheel has always just had a platonic relationship with the FL. One pathetic character pining over the FL was not enough they had to add another side character that was even worse. The amount of screen time the SML got one-sideingly chasing after the FL was ridiculous. Like he sees them kiss and hug and everybody in the village knows they like each other and in his crazy head still thinks he has a chance? No matter how much sad background music you play, it will not be sad...it is just pathetic and weird. By episode 5, I could tell where this story was going and had to skim through the rest and the story goes exactly how you would expect.
I really enjoyed the first few episodes but man does the show go downhill. The actors are great though, their characters and the plot are just poorly done.

Nice warm drama just wanted more
Countryside dramas are hit or miss with me, the only one I've seemed to enjoy thoroughly is Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha. I did go into this drama with the expectation it would be like HCCC, which was my mistake because this drama is its own story just like HCCC. I enjoyed the mother, the younger sister, and her daughter a lot in the drama. I think the storyline is consistent however I wish the FL wouldn't give up so easily and run away when defeated. This is something that her character grew out of by the end thanks to the ML. The reason I'm only rating this drama a 7.5 is because the romance was very quiet. Yes, the leads loved each other. Yes, the male lead was consistent and sweet but the romance was lackluster I wanted more heart-fluttering moments. I wish we could've got more of a story for the younger sister and her daughter I loved them. Overall this is an ok drama with little to no rewatch value for me due to the romance not catching my attention that much. Was this review helpful to you?
