first of all guys we had such a beautiful journey finishing this series cause we waited for 3 years im gonna re-watch it soon!!! and lattekim, there chemistry was so good and kim really served face card here i have cried for what episode 11 and 12 most the scenes where phop was yearning for klao damn this is series was everything and There nc scenes they were so good I almost died watching that I love how they didn't rushed the ending and it was smooth.if you are thinking if you should watch it or not we'll it's slow burn so if you don't like that you can skip but I would not recommend it cause that slow burn will definitely pay off after episode 7 and phop is such is cutie and green flag you shouldn't miss that so give it a try.
(AND OF COURSE WHOEVER PUT GLASSES ON NET I LOVE YOU PLEASE MARRY ME)

NETJJ DID IT!!!
ITS SOOO GOOD!!! only 2 episodes in and I’m loving it! Net and Jj fit perfectly into the story and their acting is amazing. It’s a perfect mix of romance, comedy and emotion. I waited too long for this series. Especially when seeing all the hardships NetJj, LatteKim and the whole crew went trough, I appreciate it even more!!! definitely a 10/10 already for me! I’m super proud of Net and Jj and everyone else who participated in this project!❤️❤️❤️Was this review helpful to you?
I Still Believe in This Story
I came into LUAT with high expectations, and I can understand why some viewers might feel disappointed after the first episode or two.The pacing at the beginning is a bit slow, and the tone leans more into light comedy than what some people expected from a historical BL. These points are valid and worth acknowledging.
However, I don’t think it’s fair to judge the entire series this early. There is clear potential in the storytelling, and the production quality is actually quite solid. The cinematography and setting are visually appealing, and Net’s performance brings emotional depth that keeps the story engaging.
Like many series, this one may take a few episodes to fully establish its direction and emotional weight. Dropping it too soon might mean missing the development that comes later.
Overall, instead of labeling it as a failure, I see LUAT as a series that is still building its foundation. It deserves more time before a final judgment is made.

ITS A 10/10 AND ITS NOT EVEN COMPLETE YET
1000000/10 series. I love Love Upon a Time!! As of April 5th there’s only 2 episode and it’s genuinely sooo good. It’s building up to the greatest angst story ever. And NetJJ and LatteKim are phenomenal!!!You’ve never seen such a relatable main character. How would you react if you got sent to the past— 400 years!! You’d probably freak out, maybe be in denial or even believe ending it would send you back home. So did Nakhun HAHA!! He’s relatable freak out to suddenly being in the past was the funniest thing ever. I loved seeing it because that’s how I’d react

Ep1: Cast and Story
I waited for this story for years. The expectations is really high. From the pilot we can analyse a story. After seeing first episode I feel good because I get a hope that the series is going to be really well in cases. The story is amazing no doubt. The feature very important for the story to be get well and stay in the actual plot is The screenplay. It works out well. The sequence of Scenes are good. The Cinematography is really done well. The art Director had one job and he nailed. The set seems more realistic. Coming to the Actors, Man!!! The cast team knows who to act and where to put them. JJ slayed his role. He improves a lot. I mean may be in a very few places, like when he got to do more expressive reactions, it doesn't seem so realistic but honestly in whole episode he stood out a lot in best way. Many scenes his reactions amazed me a lot. Latte is really handsome and Kim is so gorgeous. They elevates their characters. I am excited to see them more in upcoming episodes. My man, Net, he is more than I expected. He is hot, handsome and feels like a calm and organized person who carries unknown pain. He nailed it.Overall my opinion about the series is " DMD never failed to create Masterpiece". I admire the cast and crew works and how well they executed. I am waiting for upcoming episodes : )

War is Over
Nel senso che finalmente ho trovato una serie della DMD che mi è piaciuta. Come dire, basta leggere quello che ho scritto di DWY e di CP per capire il mio rapporto con quella casa di produzione (forever una GMMTV girlie). Detto ciò finalmente posso dire war is over perché ho finalmente trovato una serie a cui posso dare 10. Was this review helpful to you?

Yes, it was okay
I'll make this as direct as possible. They tried. Mostly delivered in script, acting, pacing and cohesiveness. They lacked in conciseness of ep, length of series, unnecessary moments, circular story patterns and there were some moments that gave pause for the purpose. Why? Like tone down Meng (voice) and LatteKim nc (rushed slightly non feeling performance and Kim's expression). Less is more.
Net, JJ, Tonnam, Kim and Latte in that order. Net gave a plausible and endearing performance which I loved. JJ comedic skills were nice but stretched on for too many episodes. Were there kinks still to be smoothened in their responses to each other? Yes. Are they beautiful and full of chemistry? Undeniable. There was not a moment that they did not light up the screen when they were together. Tonnam (Chuai) was a delight everytime he was on screen. Perfectly cast here. Kim did well for an effeminate male in the past and Latte, hopefully, with more experience would grow smoother in delivery. Though I did like his more pensive moments than the clownish.
Side note: Writers please retire any name that will be shortened to Thi/Tee. Enough of the Phi Thi, please.
Resolving a time travel plot would have issues if not handled correctly. Having a character re-appear in the past is more easily explained than him disappearing right before your eyes and from your grasp. That is grounds for a mental institution for life or constant care from Dr Jom. Their meet in the future was really cute tho. Then the resolution at the ruins solved the modern day ache.
I didn't expect much and it stayed in that scheme so I was not disappointed. Would I recommend to watch, yes.

CALLING IT A MASTERPIECE WOULD BE AN UNDERSTATEMENT!!
how do i even start because this is truly a MASTERPIECE in every matter, the acting, the production, the direction, the writing, the screenplay, the music everything is so perfect. how can a show be this good?? DMD outdoes itself everytime, i have so much to express but i just don't know how to put it in words because it was that PERFECT..honestly if you are having second thoughts whether to start it or not or if you stopped watching after 2 episodes thinking it's slow or something, PLEASE DO CONTINUE IT BECAUSE IT IS THE BL OF 2026!! every episode is another level of perfection and they just raise the bar higher and higher every episode and the finale was so beautiful, it was everything i could ever ask for and also the way they explained everything was so good!!!
i always used to think nothing can top Khemjira for me because it was another level of masterpiece but now i am having second thoughts because i can't decide which is actually number 1 for me, episode 11 especially, left me speechless that what did i just witness?? the way it was shot and the way it was paced was another level of perfection.
ABOUT NETJJ, NEED I SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THEM?? they are so perfect for each other and their chemistry bleeds through the screen, not even a single dull moment, oh my goodness, the way i love them is unreal and the way i love this series is unreal, the way net acted as p'phop is perfection, the way net shows his yearning from his eyes is just too good and JJ was born to play klao/nakhun because nakhun is JJ in many waysss, i love how their story was paced and honestly i would expect nothing less from P'DEN, he is hands down THE BEST DIRECTOR for me, netjj has come to my top 3 bl pairs after this and as they should havee!!!
i love how they didn't ignore their second leads and gave them an actual good pacing and story throughout the series and i agree in some episodes their screentime was less but honestly it was for the good because they weren't that much related to the mystery and it was nicely paced till the endd!!
ALSO IF YOU ARE NOT WATCHING THIS BECAUSE YOU AREN'T A FAN OF PERIOD DRAMAS, TRUST ME IT'S DIFFERENT, it doesn't just focus on one thing, it's actually really well done and has majority of the scenes related to their story, NOT A SINGLE DULL MOMENT every scene has a purpose.
AND THE WEDDING IN THE LAST EPISODE WAS EVERYTHINGGGG, I WAS CRYINGGGG
coming to nc scenes, we know how beautifully dmd does nc scenes and they are so wholesome, all the nc in this series is so beautiful and doesn't look like that it's done just for the sake of doing it, like how do i put it, it feels so ethereal, their chemistry bleeds through the screen!!
i have yapped stuff randomly, but to conclude,
CALLING IT A MASTERPIECE IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT BECAUSE IT IS MORE THAN THAT!!
DMD HAS DONE IT AGAIN, THEY HAVE MADE ONE OF THE BEST BLS EVER... AND IT WILL BE DIFFICULT TO TOP THIS!!

°-°
I honestly think that it was a really great series. The acting was great, and the chemistry between the actors was amazing. I’m hoping that in the future NetJJ and LatteKim will get more recognition because they both did an excellent job bringing their characters to life. Even though I don’t usually like BLs that involve past lives and time travel, I really enjoyed this one. The story kept me interested, and it was fun to watch. The emotional moments felt genuine, and the characters were easy to connect with. I also liked how the relationship developed naturally throughout the series. The production quality, soundtrack, and overall atmosphere made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, I really liked this series and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a BL with a great storyline, strong performances, and great chemistry between the leads.

A way to brighten up your day whilst your mind race with endless possibilities
This series has everything! The crew and cast understood are expectations and absolutely delivered. Everything felt natural from the acting to the settings. I was immersed from the very beginning and that says a lot because I usually drop a series on the first episode if it gets boring. This goes to show just how hard work gets acknowledged in the end. NETJJ, even though it's your first time as main leads, your acting gave me goosebumps. Chemistry is natural and Netjj is the perfect example of that. Was this review helpful to you?

THE BEST SHOW IVE WATCHED IN A WHILE
Now hold my hand while you read this, I think the plot overall worked so well with Netjj as a couple. Especially since the original pilot was with James but I think Jj suited the role overall better.Although they adapted it from the novel and changed parts especially with holding Khlaos stuff when he died, I think they way they changed it made it prettier. The fact they still were intertwined and that they showed the confused effect on JJ’s character both times he changes time zones just helps illustrate the plot altogether!
ALSO IN THE LAST EPISODE I DONT KNOW WHAT KIM ATE BUT HE LOOKED STUNNING!!
The showcase of the Marriage Equity Law of 2025 was also illustrated amazingly and you can’t help but feel so happy and the representation of it was amazing!
100% would rewatch!!

Beautiful and Moving Romance across multiple lifetimes.
Subjective Gut Rating: 8.25Is “Love Upon a Time” the next “I Feel You Linger in the Air” that I am searching for? Close but not quite. It’s hard to find a good historical Thai BL that I like because I want something serious without too much comedy and overdramatic acting. “Love Upon a Time” was close but it didn’t quite hit the mark, especially with the execution and storytelling of the mystery.
Romance
I really like the main romance and that’s what kept me interested throughout the drama. I feel that it was developed naturally and at a good pace. It’s pretty clear from the get-go how the handsome green flag Phop feels about Klao. Even when he was stern, you can tell from Net’s beautiful big eyes the affection he has for Klao. This is my first drama of Net as a main character, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The care, concern and affection he showered on Klao throughout the whole drama is what we want from a romantic lead. The romance hit the highest point for me in episode 7 when emotions and stakes are high. I love their emotional heart-to-heart conversation under the moonlight at the corn field so much that I was inspired to write my first episode review. Their kisses were lovely, so gentle yet passionate. The NC scene was beautiful and sensual. Add to the fact that Phop asked for consent! How sexy is that?? If you are a romance-lover like me, you will be satisfied with this main romance and all the shirtless scenes that Net has.
Secondary Romance
Their story is actually very interesting as it ties to their past and present lives. I enjoy seeing that connection. However, I think the execution could be better with better distribution of screen time.. I was having a little hard time getting into their story because Kaew’s hairstyle in the first third of the drama bothers me. I know it’s petty but having his hair all gelled up is not a good look for him. Additionally, Latte’s acting as Jom is the weakest of the group. He was better as college student Thi, then esteemed physician Jom.
Acting
As I mentioned earlier, Net really surprised me. I am so in love with him! JJ on the other was not bad but his facial expressions tend to be quite drama during some scenes (even non-comedic wise). Is that how he was directed to emote? Or was it him? I am also watching him in “The Next Prince” now, and his portrayal there is a lot more natural. Kim did a pretty good job as the more effeminate Kaew. I am not sure if he’s like that in real life, but he’s more girl, gentle and feminine than I am! Latte, on the other hand, is having a hard time being the stoic and esteemed physician. His expressions often feel uncomfortable and hesitant. But as the college kid, Thi, he seems to be back in his element. The rest of the supporting cast all did a pretty good job. I was especially glad to not see any overdramatic, gossipy and boisterous servants, who seem to be a mainstay in many period Thai dramas.
Fantasy/Mystery
I think the drama gave us a decent explanation of the fantasy. At least, I understand what happened and can believe in the reasoning they gave me. This is not always the case with fantasy drama, so for that, I think “Love Upon a Time” should satisfy most viewers. The drama does use an interesting angle to explain the fantasy and reincarnation theme through the lecturer of a time-traveling class. This could be a fun course to take in college! However, the mystery investigation was unable to hold my attention. Maybe because I love the main romance so much that I didn’t really care who killed who, and who’s corrupted. I just want to find out what happened to Klao, and that’s it. This could be a “me” problem or could be the writing.
Production
I love the production. I especially enjoy the use of natural lighting, just lanterns, candles and moonlight, without artificial bright white light. The costumes are beautiful for the men and women. The fight scenes are better than the shooting scenes. Seeing a topless Net fight is a beautiful sight.
Overall, I had a good time watching “Love Upon a Time”. I was also glad it gave us sufficient time back in the present timeline to close out the drama and tie up loose ends. The ending was not rushed and did not leave us with more questions than answers, like “I Feel You Linger in the Air”. The overall acting is not bad, even if it’s not excellent. I will recommend this if you are interested in checking out a period Thai BL with a strong romance focus.
