13 Hours of Emotional Torture
Question: What happens if you put a bunch of young adults into a dating show?Answer: PURE CHAOS.
I am 19 Years Old (international). I thought that watching a High School Dating School would be childish BUT I was WRONG.
Initially, I refused to watch 19/20 because I really did not want to watch a plotted Dating Show in a high school setting with an inmature cast, but out of curiousity and boredom I gave the Netflix Trailer a try... and I BINGED WATCHED IT TODAY :)
I realized that this show is split into two parts. The First part is the FUN part. The Second is the PAIN part. While writing I this Review I thought that FUN and PAIN is also fitting for the coming of age genre.
The First Part is what really catched me. You meet a great cast in the first episodes which is fastly enhanced with the additional 2 members joining early. Everyone of the contestants seemed likeable. The Concept and Production is also really on point. The Storyline is great and also the progression of couples seemed very well but then Part 2 came.
Part 2 is when they finally turn 20, the korean legal age, at new years eve. I was really hyped up with the new looks and the more private and matured setting. It was really funny to see how these young adults react to alcohol for the first time.
ALCOHOL is the point. I am really not sure but since ep6 or ep7 I had the feeling that some contestants acted drunk non stop. The ammount of times some contestants changed their mind felt higher than me enjoying dating shows. Note: I enjoy dating shows often. It was pure torture to watch the last episodes. I just wanted to know how things end because it was very unclear with the constant ups and downs. And for me personally, it was very disappointing. I really liked all of the contestants in the first half but I couldn't help but dislike them in further progression.
This is definetly no hate speech! I really respect the fact that these people are under immense pressure in front of the cameras and situation and they mainly act human but I really had the feeling that if these people were 5-10 years older, they would have acted wiser. It was really painful to watch in 3rd person.
I still recommend the dating show and would give it an absurdly high rating of 9.5* because of the production and cast. It was good but personally disappointing. It really wrecked my nerves here and there and it really makes me mad that I've spent my whole day watching this show for this outcome.
Notable mentions would be Heeji, Pyeong Seok and Se Yeon.
Heeji overall best girl. Wasn't my favorite all the time but she was constant.
Pyeong Seok is a huge green flag.
Se Yeon is a fallen brother. You unintentionally dodged the red flags. Hard Times.
Thank You for reading.

Much more than a dating show
After almost 2 years of using MDL every day, this is my first review. I really think this show was the best thing I’ve ever watched in terms of reality tv.It was so much more than a dating show. It was a beautiful coming of age story. It had everything. I must admit that one of the couples made me smile the whole time they were on screen. They really suppressed all the Kdrama couples I loved before (and those were fictional, this couple is more than real).
I couldn’t help but cry for the last ten minutes of the finale because I was happy for them, but so sad to say goodbye. How can they be so mature at that age, with such innocent souls and positive despite going through heartbreak ?
I don’t think I’ll ever find a much better dating show than this one. I recently watched the most popular one (I don’t even wanna name it, it was so bad) in SK and this one is 1000 times better in my opinion.
Please watch it and let’s all demand a second season!!

Absolutely loved it
I loved watching this Reality Show. The love Between the Teens was so pure und simple. Since I am their age I loved seeing them having the same struggles I am having. I also loved the 4 people who always commented on the actions and what was happening. It felt like I was watching it with them and I could see that they reacted just like me to the happenings. Sometimes it was a little frustrating since some things didn't turn out like we wanted to. But the outcome is still very satisfying and happy. Was this review helpful to you?
Cultura

Where was this show when I was 20?
This was a fantastic DATING show. I thought it was more of a coming of age at first, but the show definitely gravitates towards romance. The show starts off with co-ed students attending a made up school and taking "adulting" classes. But you don't fully dive into what they are learning. You see more of their interactions, such as how they are when paired up in a dodgeball game, or putting makeup on a partner, or cooking a dish with a partner. But no dating allowed!
Chemistry basically builds until they reach the new year, and they start to live in a house together as fresh 20 year olds. This is when the no-dating rule is lifted, and they are free to ask each other out. There isn't much going on in the house, aside from going on dates. Other than that, the show is fully based on their interactions.
Every student was so mature! Some were bolder than others, some more reserved. But I have never seen so many mature students in one room before. The way there was no misunderstandings because they were honest to their feelings and spoke their mind as soon as they happened. It was so refreshing watching these new adults handle conflicts better than most would. There were so many cute moments and I loved their teasing playfulness to each other.
Unfortunately the couple I was rooting for broke up after the show, but I am happy for all the friendships continuing after the show!

Only in Korea, the 1st January all the 19th become adult of 20th!
4 girls and 4 guys begin this special school to become responsabilies adults, then 2 days after 2 others would join them. It's end december, they are all 19 years old and just in few days they enter in a majory year. Yes, because the strange thing is that ONLY in Korea, the 1st January all the 19th become adult of 20th!The first school rule is, until 20th, no relationship! They have interesting lessons, 2 clubs (astronomy & ping-pong), activities, couple sport...
Everyone are very very cute and handsome.
I have cold myself only seeing these poors to freeze.
Things will change in "the 20th House". It's seems they have more pressure and responsibilities as adults. They drunk a lot, but the ritual it's how a penalty almost a joy but drinking give them a brave to say and ask what they want.
I find girls more direct than boys. They are all struggling to say "no", but when they do, it is with respect and sensitivity.
The pride of showing their ID card is so tender.
I liked the 4 watchers with their analysis and comments.
Everyone of the cast was great. Theirs personalities, some more shy who more extroverted, who direct and who more reflective but still all who have given their best. Congratulations to these guys.
The couple between the exuberant Lee-Ji and the shy Peong-Seok I found it of an infinite sweetness and harmony. Always smiling and ready to help in the kitchen or to listen and reassure homemates. Truly splendid.

Desejo todo o sucesso do mundo a estes jovens tão amorosos e corajoso.
