An Endearing Romance Between Two Time Travelers
What started as a revenge saga turned into a “Forever Love Story”.Personally, I’m a huge fan of revenge stories, especially those with beautiful FL’s who are hellbent on vengeance. “Marry My Husband” serves that revenge piping hot with a casting that take their roles seriously. It helps that the titular role was played by a veteran actress like Park Min Young. As Kang Ji Won, she is reproachful, aggressive and entirely manipulative when it comes to raining hell on her archenemies- namely ex-husband and ex-best friend. It was a gratifying experience least to say; frankly the show depicts adultery realistically. I guess that was the whole premise and intend of this show; to portray the mental and emotional torture that women experience when their so-called better halves cheat on them. It could be Kang Ji Won or Yang Joo Ran (Gong Min Jung); most women spend their lives adjusting to their husband’s crazy whims, unable to express their displeasure. This show will be a welcome relief to those women; it might even help them gather the courage to pack their bags and stage a walk out. For now, let’s review the show in detail!

A good filler drama
To sum it all up: Started off so well then went downhill. It’s good as a filler drama in between the week but binging this would get tiring. No other romantic relationships were actually explored other than the main leads?
Yu Ji-hyuks sister and the chef started developing their relationship on literally EPISODE 16???
As for Yang Joo-ran and the lawyer, we don’t ACTUALLY know how they know eachother and how deep their relationship really is. We saw ONE scene of them arguing in the past but it’s never really clear what they are. Past lovers? Just co-workers who disliked eachother? (for very silly reasons btw). And it’s not clear what they are to become in the future. Will they remain friends? Will they date? Its so silly how we know NOTHING.
They wasted so much time on silly things like Oh Yura when they could have focused on developing those relationships/characters.
As for Jiwon & Jihyuks “romance” I found myself skipping over all their kissing/intimate scenes. I just didn’t buy it and I’m sorry but the chemistry simply was not there. Not to speak for other people but I don’t think anyone really cared too much for their romance either.
Whenever this drama is talked about, it’s mostly about Sumin and how Jiwon claps back at her.
Fortunately for them, revenge is the main theme so that’s not a huge problem. I love romance dramas and I’m a sucker for business proposal type romance (not drama) but THIS was just not it.
I think the problem is Yu Ji hyuk though because I’ve always loved seeing Park Minyoung in romance dramas, this time though, just wasn’t feeling it.

Revenge, Romance and Second Chances
As someone who has read (and absolutely loved) the webtoon i was so afraid that the show would ruin the story but i'm happy to say that it didn't. Although it was cliche and predictable it was just the right amount of both.I loved the casting choice for soo-min and min-hwan, the two of them literally emulate their webtoon counterparts so well. Park-min young also lost A LOT of weight for her role in the beginning and that shows the remarkable amount of dedication she has towards the role. I found myself smirking every time ji-won got revenge on soo-min and i loved min-hwan's monologues. ( spoiler: JI WON LOOKED SOO PRETTY ( LIKE A LITERAL QUEEN ) IN THE WEDDING PHOTOS!!!)
So if i loved the show so much then why did i not give it a full 10/10 rating? Thats because personally i felt like all though the revenge arc was amazing, i felt like they dragged it out unnecessarily with yu-ra (i get that they needed to push his fate of death to someone else but i wish he had died the same way as he did in the original plot (it was so much more romantic and tragic). And i also some scenes were waay too cliche and overused in kdramas.
Also i loved that they didnt just end the show with the wedding (or before) like they normally do for kdramas, their life 10 years in the future is seriously couple goals (and body goals lmao).

is it what we expected it to be ?
this show is still on going so my review is limited to ep 13 .So i d like to discuss the plot, or what was revealed of it untill now:
The story of going back in time , being reborn, getting a second chance in life , is very washed out , specially in asian shows, however i wouldnt say it s a disadvantage to the popularity of the show , but i personally wasnt drawn to watch this serie because of that , so it wasnt a plus to the popularity of the show either.
Also , marriage , affairs , and revenge are elements that form a classic combination, but a veryyy attractive one . we all like a saucy show. so i d say that this was the magnet point for me . i was anticipating how Ji Woon would establish justice and use her second life to turn the tables around to a more fair destiny, but as i was watching , i was overwhelmed by Soo Min s attitude and schemes, so i started to look forward to that even more. i m being very subjective here by the way , i could b feeling this way because i m more inclined to villain roles , or because Soo Min overpowered Ji won .
Honestly speaking , Soo Min managed to get a strong reaction out of me every time she was in the camera frame, whilst i felt that Ji Won was too slow to transition from the pathetic victim to the strong vendetta character. ...Which is understable , but as a viewer i couldnt help but be disappointed by her fragility. ...Now , dont get me wrong , i m not all against a soft fragile character, but episode 1 came off so strong , it summed up a vey miserable life and a very pitiful death , which i think was enough to fuel Ji Won s anger and toughen her as soon as she got her second chance in life. for example , after the school reunion , Ji Won found out everything that Soo Min did, but her reaction was so poor.
The toxic dynamics between So min and Ji won is the best part for me. Soo Min acting creepy , despicable and just dirty made no sense from ep1 to ep12, we had to wait till ep 13 to understand her motive, which was a typical overstretched motive , a very kdrama style motive if you get what i mean. Yet , i d like to congratulate whoever wrote that , because instead of settling down with the jealous friend scenario , they went a little deeper and introduced a new link which is stepsisters , this highlights the notion of " other half" that was repeated throughout the episodes.
Ji Woon and her cheating boyfriend didnt get much attention from me , maybe because the cast didnt seem to have chemistry? We werent heartbroken to see him cheating on her because it felt very expected seeing how he was a terrible boyfriend since the begining .
But the boyfriend and Su Min r a verryyy entertaining pair, as a forbidden relationship, then as the puppets in Ji Won's master plan, then finally as crime accomplices .They r very enjoyable to watch.
Ji Won and Mr Yu 's romance is average really, typical kdrama style, male lead loves female lead since younger years , then they reunite and so on . But of course, just like every one else, i look forward to their moments together, and root for Mr Yu to defend and miraculously save Ji Won everytime, which eventually does happen , because again the love line is very classic so as not to say expected .
Mr Yu 's fiancé is a newly introduced character . Was she necessary to the progression of events? i cant say until the show ends. But i m curious to see , whether she s the variable in Ji Won 's second life , or she embodied the role of someone else from Ji Won 's first life . Because from what i understood, the fate of the people doesnt change, it just gets swapped with someone else's, So whose fate does this fiancé hold now?
What bothered me though, is JI Won giving up on Mr Yu when she found out he was engaged. which again accentuates her weak personality, and pisses me of as a viewer lol. She has seen the blue heart on his chest, why is she ignoring a crucial sign that indicates how strong their bond is? instead she went back to square one, victimizing herself and villainizing Mr Yu , as if he betrayed her ?? i think Ji Won had enough reasons to hold onto him no matter what the consequences were going to be.
Not to forget the supporting roles and their sub plots , who in my opinion , were definitely a positive addition to the show, with a wide variety of emotions , from humorous to sad,
Ms Yang being the receieving end of the tragic fate of Ji Won was the perfect turn of events. The way i see it is , Ji Won was giving the second life to make decisons and actively act upon them to prevent the tragedy . She was not meant to inflict or cause the tragedy , which is why it wouldnt make sense if Su Min was the one who gets her fate. So , now that Mrs Yang is the one concerned, Ji Won will get the chance to make the moves she couldnt in her previous life, she now can correct those sad events as if they were hers, which we can see in the preview of ep 14, where she ll possibly stand up for Mrs Yang and prevent her death.
Overall, despite how generic the plot may sound, it has a few interesting twists .The end of the show can either boost up our favorable reaction with an unexpected closure, or keep our feet on the ground with a common finale.

The webtoon was better too many cringey scenes
So many cringey moments and unnecessary plot. The webtoon was better.1. Sponsor/brand plug in is too obvious
2. The two MCs doesn’t have chemistry whatsoever
3. The female lead couldn’t deliver emotional scenes well.
4. The “fiancé” villain arch was too rush or unnecessary.
5. Everything was too shallow even everyone’s acting.

"Betrayal Ignites Revenge: Embracing Second Chances"
This drama is very normal revenge plot but not like "THE GLORY ". I actually studied the webtoon version and idk about the novel version, so after completion of studying the webtoon one I thought it will be interesting to see on screen rather than study or imagining things on your own. So i was eager to watch the drama then they included only few scenes from it , rest and all they changed their story on their own. I was eagerly waiting for side couples love stories at least to some extend but they did not focus on it too wellThe yu-ra character was introduced after 11 th episode when drama is going to end, since i did not study the novel so i don't have any idea about it now from 11 th episode the plot went off somewhere and we will forget su min totally since she was main villain in the webtoon. And the yu-ra either makes you skip the scenes itself or the episode and her acting sucks too. Su min should get award for her evil role she did nice work portraying her role as well as shades. Everybody did a good job in their roles but i love my cutie ML sister aah her scenes makes me laughs , she just a lovely girl in the whole series. If you love to watch revenge and time travel concept you can watch it.

Your biggest enemy is a reliable close friend!
This was the first experience of watching an ongoing K-drama for me, and honestly, I was not satisfied. I think it's better to watch a good drama than just experience watching ongoing.First of all, the main characters were not attractive to me; they didn't even play well in my opinion.Ji Won was not friendly and loveble enough. Ji Hyuk was very overrated and his charm was exaggerated, while he was very ordinary and had no charisma. The love between these two was soulless and artificial.
Song Ha Yoon was the best. She played very strongly. This difficult role and its psychological characteristics were real and attractive. This is perhaps the only positive point of this drama that was able to show the fact relatively concretely that sometimes your biggest enemy is a reliable close friend!
Min Hwan's character was almost well designed; a combination of naivety and meanness.
The whole story seemed to be empty, and from one point on, it was not clear exactly what the issue was, and I prefer not to say anything about the other two couples in the story!

Overhyped and Disappointing
Going into this, there had already been clips all over social media and people were super excited about the drama, but personally it was a flop. Park Min Young has a tendency to choose manhwa adaptations which is fine but they all kinda feel the same. This drama in particular was quite click baity. If you go off of just the clips, you would think that it's fast paced and exciting but it is the complete opposite. The background and flashbacks took forever to complete. There wasn't a particular OST that stood out. In general, everything was kinda meh.The FL (who is supposed to be the protagonist) makes quite a few false promises to the audience that she's going to chage her fate but it always somehow ends up being ML who saves her. FL becomes quite boring at one point and ML was the only thing making me continue the drama. Unfortunately, he also gets kinda boring towards the end. Not to mention the weird pacing at the end with the random ex-fiance arc.
The actors were great but I did notice there was a tendency to overexaggerate emotions or expressions. I think it might have been due to the fact that this did originate from a manhwa, but I felt that it could have been less cartoonish/comical. There were moments where either FL or SuMin went kyaaaa and I lost it. Honestly, the only character I found half believable was actually Park Min Hwan and the mom.

A delicious, addictive time-travel drama marred by a third lackluster villain
At first glance, Marry My Husband might just be a new addition to the ever growing list of time travel k-drama released this year. However, powerful and electrifying performances from Park Min Young and Song Ha Yoon will keep you running back for more. The story revolves around Kang Ji Won (Park Min Young) getting killed by her husband Park Min Hwan (Lee Yi Kyung) after she learns he's having an affair with her best friend Jung Soo Min (Song Ha Yoon).
As if by miracle, Ji Won wakes up 10 years earlier and she is now determined to change her life and get back to those who have wronged her. She also gains an unexpected ally Yoo Ji Hyuk, played by Na In Woo and together they execute her revenge plan and transfer her fate to Soo Min.
The blood-boiling villains is one of the highlights of this k-drama. Min Hwan and Soo Min has constantly kept me at the edge of my seat and made me want to choke them through the screen. Every move they make, every word they speak will leave you seething with rage and will keep you rooting for Ji Won. This villanious duo never runs out of tricks up their sleeves.
The first act is over the top and melodramatic with its twists and turns. However, it failed to deliver interesting plots on the last four episodes. The story could have explored more variables regarding the rules of time travel and transferring of destinies to other people instead of adding another one-dimensional antagonist. We did not even get answers as to why Ji Won can easily pass her fate to someone else without any repercussions. It felt like Ji Won and Ji Hyuk can change anything to their heart's desires.
Once Ji Hyuk's fiancée O Yu Ra (played by BoA) took center stage, my curiosity to the show has diminished. She is nowhere near Soo Min's two-faced character whose actions are unpredictable and can seamlessly act kind or wicked as the situation calls for. Yu Ra is just a chaebol who kills people just for fun and to kill time. Her character is not even properly set up and she just came out of the blue.
Overall, this was very entertaining albeit only for its first act. The story is not trying to break new grounds but still strives on being a guilty pleasure watch. However, one thing is for certain—Soo Min will go down as one of the best villains in the k-drama world at par with The Penthouse's Cheon Seo Jin.

O melhor?!
Jung So Min, a melhor amiga e traidora da nossa protagonista.
Terminado: 20/03/2024.
