Both drama have sombre tones.... the subtlety, the vibes and the feels are very similar....
Both dramas have FLs who feel too much... then internalise their pain while outwardly they remain cold... the acting in both dramas makes them a treat to watch.... the trunk has more mature scenes though...

The story is also about a matchmaker agency through which a woman wants to take revenge on her rival. The past and various intrigues slowly bring the characters together to form the big picture.

Though this drama isn't really of a thriller but it has the similar vibes of the trunk in terms of sla slow burn love

You really will enjoy it , slowly wanting for more with time

Both kdramas have sad and lonely leads, have similar dynamics of leads trying to support each other . They both have a mystery subplot and ex partners trying to separate the leads

FL also worked as a temporary wife for men in need of a temporary, contract marriage. “Love In Contract” was a comedy however. “The Trunk” seems like a dark thriller mystery.

Leads are two lonely, broken people; similar dynamics to Lost's. Both dramas have a slow-burn plot, with a somber tone.

No Inji reminds me a lot of Moon Dongeun. The two female leads play broken characters whose pain is so visceral on screen and almost tangible. Seo Hyun Jin and Song Hye Kyo depict internal external pain in almost similar ways, to the point I worried for their health. However they also depict incredible strength despite their pain.

both are romances with a dark twist. CTLBT is quirky with gothic elements while The Trunk is a full on romance thriller. both couples must deal with past traumas in order to be together. both couples have previous partners/loves that they must deal with because it interferes with their current lives. the house is a character in both, more so in CTLBT.

Romance-as-business crossed with murder mystery is a rare narrative format. But both The Trunk and Light The Night serve it beautifully. The former leans more heavily into the romance side of things whereas Light The Night delves more into intrigue.
