The whole story made no sense.
Positive:- Alan Fang was the only one worth watching. the other's acting skills are just so so.
- the second couple are more fun than the first couple.
Negative:
- The story made no sense. Whatever books the FL was looking for would be important after there is peace in the desert. Once the peace was achieved as ML worked so hard for, they will have plenty of time to look for the book that would benefit the people. The FL was so self-centered, felt that she knew it all and she was always right. She endangered everybody's life for her own purpose and got everybody else killed.
- the ML had no backbones when the FL was concerned. He always said that he had more important things to do and he did. He should defeat the tyrant and unit and bring peace to the desert. But whatever the FL wanted to do, he would drop everything just to protect her.
-The ML and the SML practically live in the two concubine's palace openly, without the tyrant finding out until the very end.
-At the end, the FL killed the tyrant almost all by herself with her flute ??? The ML magically appeared and they lived happily ever after. How about their friends and a lot of inocent people? They die for nothing because of the FL.
I don't even know why I even finished the whole thing. Maybe because it was not as long as most C-dramas. I was hoping it would get better. But the end was the worst.

Leave buried in the desert
The cinematography and production quality is great. The desert landscape is a nice change in scenery. The actors and actresses played their roles really well -- even for characters I didn't like. I enjoyed the relationship between the two leads most of the way.Biggest turnoff: the second leads. It's hard for me to watch or root for a guy who drugs women to have his way with them -- yeah that makes him a real macho stud (sarcastic). Or a lady that chases after him knowing this. And they had so much screen time! Why do many Asian dramas have two to three romances going on at once. It's like a three ring circus, except you can't just focus on the center ring -- you're forced to watch the side rings with the clowns on unicycles too.
I was pleasantly surprised Alen Fang was a likeable ML, since I had only seen him previously in "A Journey to Love" in a supporting role. Unfortunately, towards the end I started disliking the FL --- a shame because she started out so strong and cool. She just became easily manipulated, made poor choices -- even threatened to kill a horse.

Many things about this show is wrong, but one thing they got right is the main cast: four of them did a great job esp the 2nd couple (..i know but i'm only talking about the acting not the plot). The chemistry is superb and imo better than the 1st couple. I hope also they will reunite in a better project.
This show might be for you if you're in a weird mood like when you get so bored from browsing and then you cant decide what to watch, maybe this one will blow your mind a bit haha

A tru love in the dessert
A unique story with great action. Amazing music which embrace every moment with the right sentiment. The songs are as tense as needed and in the correct time. The main couple has a unique chemistry between them. Their acting is sweet, dramatic and their face expressions show the pain, the sadness, the love and the sweetness our heroes feel. The support couple are amazing too. Their body's moves are well performed and tuned. The only sad is the end of Rowan. He should have survived in a magical way. But thankfully he left behind his baby with the princess. I guess it would be really difficult to perform in such unique weather circumstances, like hot, snow and wind. Even there were help from machines which helps on that, it's difficult to concentrate and act without interactions. In general, a wonderful movie which must be seenWas this review helpful to you?
. The romance and kiss scenes feels raw and intense
This drama hit me emotionally in a way few others have. The romance and kiss scenes feels raw and intense, shaped by hardship, survival, and emotional strength. The leads have incredible chemistry — the kind that builds through shared danger and trust. Their love feels earned, not handed to them. Every moment between them carries weight, and the emotional tension never disappears.
What I loved most is how strong both characters are, yet how vulnerable they become with each other. Their love feels deep, protective, and unforgettable.

A Captivating Story with Strong Performances, Despite Its Flaws
The story takes place in a desert region where three rival cities fight for dominance. Princess Huang Beishuang, fleeing after the fall of her clan, seeks refuge to the Northern Lord, Huo Qingyun. However, when she reaches his city, he turns her away at the gates, and tragically, her mother is killed in the process. Barely escaping with her life, Huang Beishuang wanders the desert, where she meets Princess Ge Xin Wei, who is being forced into an arranged marriage with Na Zhan, the Lord of Yunpei City. In a desperate bid for freedom, Huang Beishuang and Ge Xin Wei swap identities, one seeking vengeance, the other adventure.
Unbeknownst to Huang Beishuang, she soon crosses paths with Huo Qingyun once again, the man partly responsible for her pain, and their growing bond becomes more complicated as Huang Beishuang and Huo Qingyun fall in love, but his past actions eventually come to light. She is torn between her duty, revenge, and maintaining her false identity for the newfound clan that now depends on her.
The drama is driven by intricate power struggles, shifting alliances, and characters who must navigate their ambitions while protecting those they care about. Ge Xin Wei, in her new freedom, crosses paths with a ruthless bandit named Ruo Wen. While I personally found him irredeemable as a viewer, Ge Xin Wei falls for him despite his violent past, including an attempted sexual assault on Huang Beishuang, she remains drawn to him, even as he fixates on Huang Beishuang.
Besides the romance, the main plot of the story revolves around ancient texts that the characters are trying to find and decipher, said to hold the secrets for surviving and thriving in the wilderness. These texts seem to be based on knowledge of nature, geography, and other studied fields.
The series delivers intense drama, compelling characters, power struggles, and romance, including surprisingly pretty uncensored skinship scenes, which is rare for Chinese dramas. The acting is strong, with a standout performance from Hankiz Omar, whose stunning presence leaves a lasting impression.
Just be mindful of the trigger warnings before diving in.

Well....
Started nice and then became boring.I feel like this drama was supposed to be more than 36 episodes but for some reasons that we don't know, the cut many scenes to make it to 26 episodes.
Many things happen that we don't understand how it got there.
The actors did what they could with the script they were given.
This drama is watchable, but there is absolutely NO EXCITEMENT..
The ending was quite blant and kind of : " huh, what just happened, how did he...."
Anyway, if you don't have anything else to watch, you can give it a try.

Most Memorable Chinese Drama for lovers
This is the best Chinese love drama I have seen, at the end of the story we got a chance to see the true power of love with both life and death, according to me personally I liked the pairing of Ruo Wen and Ge Xin Wei. Played more interesting characters than Huo Qing and Huang Bei, the acting of the supporting actors is very wellWas this review helpful to you?
Recommended to watch
For the first time I watch this drama because of my favorite actress, Hankiz Omar. I watch first episode and I find the story is very interesting. It takes place in the desert not an effect. All the casts' acting is also amazing moreover Levin Gao. Hankiz Omar looks elegant and expensive here. One thing I don't understand is why the Yanpei's palace has only general and eunuch, and no minister. But overall I like this drama so muchWas this review helpful to you?
FIRST 4 EPISODES ARE SO GOOD
I did not expect to like "Love in the Desert" as much as I did. I'm glad I watched it. The chemistry between the leads is incredible, and the female leads are all awesome. I can't wait for the next episodes. My favorite character so far is the second female lead. She's a bit shameless, but that's what makes her likeable. Plus, there's a hint of sexual chemistry between her and the male lead. The writers really outdid themselves with this one. It's a must-watch!Was this review helpful to you?
Princesses
It was a good series in general. I watched it until the end. However, it was not very good. There were many glitches. I did not like the ending either. Some things were not avoided at all, the clothes are beautiful, the actors are beautiful, the shootings are beautiful. But there was no attempt to simplify the subjects. Some things were done for a fait accompli. Like changing the face. Like falling into a hole in the desert and getting out of there. Like struggling in desert conditions. Like 10 people and one person being successful even without being on equal terms. Like the princess who was hung for days, having a normal birth instead of having her arms hanging with that torture and having a miscarriage if she was pregnant or dying in that situation. In other words, how can I put it, it was like they went by rote. I did not like most of these parts. But I watched them. Because there were actors I liked. I like Alen Fang very much. I watched a lot of her series. But she is the same in every series. There is not a single gram of change in her acting, face, or movements. In other words, I am playing a new character. Let me be different. No. She plays in the mode of "I am this, brother". That is her only drawback. I really liked Hankiz Omar in this series. She gives a very nice image. She is a very beautiful girl. Although she looks very small and petite, her arrogance, showing the dignity befitting a princess and showing herself as someone different than she is was admirable. She also played comfortably. She did not grin in the kissing scenes. She did what was necessary. I liked it very much. The second actor I liked was Ji Ling Chen. She also changed her childish and different expression beautifully with the manner of a Lord. This image suits her very well. She really played like a different person. I liked her very much for this reason. Well done. Levin Gao and Guan Chang were also very good. Was this review helpful to you?
