I loved the ending and their friendship!
I am really glad that they didn't make a bad ending or even a good ending where ppl just took their fathers place i love how all the bad ppl r gone and junhwa who I thought is a monster at the end became good and is okay with the idea of them dating them opening their own little inn and living happily tgt while still being the squad we know is the perfect ending I love it. I thought the Prince is gonna be king though but them having no responsibility after everything that happened is so nice and that the whole kingdom will live happily and I like how they still kept the thing where the customer is the king. at the start I really liked the show in the first like six eps and I thought the idea was unique and I was enjoying that she lived as a guy and how she was interacting with all the main leads and I hated the other guys who annoyed them but I thought that it was so funny how they were acting all mighty and better than them when they r bullying the Prince and the owner of the inn so I loved that but then from ep six to ten I think it got kinda boring I didn't enjoy it as much maybe cuz I got used to it and it was kinda slow but I understand cuz they were building up to the great six eps bro idk which ep but I think 12 or 13 was SO GOOOODDDD where everything was revealed and junhwa goes crazy and beats up that guy I just loved it so much the rollercoaster of emotions in those couple of eps was so crazy and I really liked junhwa so I was so mad when he became evil but everything that happened was so cool. Was this review helpful to you?

Kim Ji Eun's male performance
It was a good series in general. I watched it without getting bored. However, there were many mistakes and parts that were covered with things beyond our logic. The story was structured in two ways. The first was about students doing an internship at an inn and the events that happened to them there. The second was about events related to a mystery. The facts and consequences behind this.I liked the mystery part. The school-like parts didn't really grab me. It seemed simple. It seemed childish. It seemed absurd. A lot of things came up thinking we would make fun of them. It didn't work. But the mystery part was very good. However, in the last episodes, the prince gathering the ministers and those who were interested in revealing the facts behind the events in front of the King, giving them a speech, inviting them to the right path, asking them to apologize, asking them to confess their crimes, exposing the King, including his father, and calling them traitors, in my opinion, was very absurd, even supernatural, beyond fantastic. It is impossible to imagine such a thing being structured, no king would allow it, he would kill him immediately. A father would not forgive his son, a son would not forgive his father. It was such an environment. There were similar incidents. These were glossed over, and they hurt the series' good progress. In the end, the series ended well. The actors were good. Even Kim Ji Eun, who appeared as a man from the beginning to the last episode, appeared as a woman in the last episode. We are so used to her as a man that it felt strange. I didn't like her as a woman. She suited her role to that extent. I especially liked Kim Eui Sung's image, who played the role of Cheon. The role he portrayed with this image was extraordinary. It was an award-winning performance. I congratulate the actor. The other actors were also good. I liked the cast.

i wish it was better than that....
it was a decent watch. i fear it's gonna be forgettable tho. there's nothing groundbreaking in the plot which i don't mind but i think the writing lacks some charm or excitement, just that oomph is nowhere. from the leads to the villains, they're all just okay, you know? the stakes are high but the writing never made me feel it's that high? lol and women pretending to be men is such a classic trope in historicals right? (sure, we want to yell "boy, you are bi" at the male lead lol) it needed a suspension of disbelief, i know that but i could not helped but be bothered at one point when hoya's character, myungho, actually blurted out in front of everyone that hong deoksu was a woman and in that moment, sura found out. lady seol maehwa started suspecting. and the crown prince who was supposed to be smart did not even take a second to think why someone would yell something like that. lol i know i know, it's for the plot! but i wish that didn't happen because it just didn't align with the prince's character.the romance was alright. they are cute i guess but again, it did not move me emotionally. love triangles are not a hard no for me but this one made me roll my eyes when junhwa's personality suddenly changed in the end there. not a fan of that. in the end, the best character for me was go sura, the guy is just doing his best at his job, wanted to help his family and trying to be helpful and loyal to his friends. and also, lady seol maehwa! i wish they did more for her character honestly. i wish there's more depth or development with deoksu and lady seol's dynamics. i wish the villains are more compelling and interesting as well but yeah, they're just alright.
so yeah, my favorite part was the friendship between the four in the beginning. that's it. wish it was better than this tho
also, if they're hoping for a season 2 with that ending credits, i don't think it's happening lmao

Epic Tale of Love, Murder & Revenge
After watching this epic tale, it felt like it was split into three parts, the first few episodes definitely had more light humor and a bit of drama as foundation of the story and characters were being built. As the series advanced into the middle part of the episodes, so many plot twists began to emerge from past to present. At times it became a bit overwhelming, but it made you really pay attention to see how they were all going to link up together. The last few episodes became much more intense and a bit dark at times. When the truth starts to emerge as to the true identity of each person, that's when our four protagonists begin to go against each other. In Hyuk was just great as Eun Ho/Mu Yeong. He could show a sweet side, but had a commanding lead when he needed it. It was definitely a great match up with Deok Su. There were interesting scenes between the two of them, especially when Eun Ho thought Deok Su was a man, but still found himself feeling an attraction in the relationship.
Go Su Ra was a very important character, but maybe a bit underrated in the story. Jae Chan was perfect with this role, playing the extremely good guy throughout the series, but showing some muscle and integrity at several important parts later in the story. To me, definitely the biggest shift in a character was Jun Hwa, played by Gun Joo. He was masterful at showing a gentle caring side of his character and then quickly transformed himself into a depraved psycho. That was probably the darkest part of the series. I think the only thing the series lacked was the retribution for the evil characters. Usually we're used to seeing them face their punishment rather harshly in the final episodes, but most of them were either killed off too easily or some died off camera, not even seeing them perish.
I thought the final scenes of the four main players made for a really good ending, showing the happiness they all deserved and the close friendship they all shared. What Deok Su says holding the golden keys earlier in that episode kind of applies to the ending...... "Having only half is utterly futile, being united multiplies our joy"
GREAT SERIES!

historical romcom turned suspense
I started thinking it would be light-hearted and a look into a new dusty world with some romance, kind of like Rookie Historian. But as always, towards the middle and end, it took a turn, and I like it. It's a safe, fun, and suspenseful watch I recommend to anyone just starting to watch sageuks. The only thing is I wish they could have been in love with each other and together throughout instead of towards the end. But it was so well done I had no problem with it in the end. I'm wondering if there's going to be a season two. Not likely but would be fun to watch. Was this review helpful to you?

Mighty group of future acting stars
I remember this kdrama because of the ML actor, who was so spunky in this kdrama. I saw him before in other kdramas where he was very reserved and quietand in this kdrama he acts a prince in love, so his acting in love was very convincing. Walking near his lady and having fun. I remember that.
FL was pathetically bad actress. I saw her again in "Again my Life" where she acts 21st century corporate CEO and the faces she had there and in this kdrama are THE SAME and do not match the Joseon role AT ALL... she cannot act. Sad.
Another young star is 2nd male lead bc he had to act transforming from a very naive boy in love to a very nasty villain ready to do anything to get what he wants, and then backtracking from that.
I AM GLAD I WROTE REVIEWS OF SO MANY KDRAMAS I WATCHED IN THE PAST BC I SEE THE PATTERN, I SEE WHAT I TEND TO REMEMBER - acting with passion and genuine focus and attention, making it "real"

Story
Kalo soal karakter lawan kejahatan oke banget! Ada aja plot twist dan akal nya, terutama Seol Mae hwa, I love her! Udah ngira mati duluan. Mana Deok su gatau dan enak enakan jatuh cinta sama Muyeong. Makanya ga pas aja waktunya.
TERLALU BANYAK PLOT TWIST MENYEBALKAN

Not That Good, Neither That Bad!
I really didn’t want to joke about the crossdressing but it becomes regrettably painful when everyone except the main protagonist know that his love interest is actually a woman & not a man!It was awfully hilarious watching Prince Muyeong aka Lee Eun Ho struggle with his feelings for his so-called nemesis Hong Deok Su. Deok Su for her part knew that there were two men pinning after her and even though she reciprocated Eun Ho’s feelings, she still kept her identity tightly under wraps. So, apart from the mystery centered around the golden key, the show spends a lot of time playing second fiddle to a complicated love triangle that is equal parts intriguing & exasperating. “Check in Hanyang” capitalizes on the grandeur of modern hotel chains to create a fictional world where the Grand Proprietor of the said hotel has a bigger influence than the Joseon King. It is actually laughable because the King actually rose to the throne after being responsible for the death of his own brother. Which brings us to the question of why the younger brother was crowned as the next King when the late King left behind his son, the now deposed Crown Prince. There are many discrepancies that will make your head roll but then you should learn to never question them and get along with the flow!

I'm not ready for this to end, any fanfiction?
Wow. The wrap-up wasn't rushed. Usually plots like this end up suddenly in the finale episode, leaving you hanging and wondering, "that was it?" But not this one. They even chose to have it an open-ending to let fans formulate their own conclusion (or fanfiction).10 stars from me!
Now all I need is to find fanfiction to continue the open-ended finale. I can see where it will go but that's my own story. I want to know what other fans have in mind. Any volunteers? It doesn't have to be long. It can be a short-story, more like a sidestory that we wished was in the show but it won't fit the overall plot.

Awww it's a cute dependable drama ❤️
I didn't expect this to be a ground breaking drama, the expectations are more like it sticks to popular themes in the past that made some of the comedic historical KDramas successful. The theme is usually about a young woman entering a school undercover as a man, her love interest is one of the male students who goes from enemy to friend to lover. Of course there are other male students who are potential suitors. They usually are a feast on the eyes and a reverse harem occurs. Hilarity ensues with the confusion of why she sometimes "acts" different and is over the top with her macho behavior at times. Throw in a public bathing situation she has to deal with along with all those rock hard bare chests and six packs she has to see. The acting is pretty solid and the characters didn't get on my nerves. The FL isn't too girly to be completely unbelievable as a young man and she seemed to be likeable enough.Watching this drama so far for me feels like when you want to be in a comfort zone where you want something dependable that will deliver. I just want to watch it and be entertained, nothing too deep or thought provoking but it is fun, campy, and may get some good laughs out of you.
The first half of ep 1 I was so-so and didn't pay close attention to it but it started to pick up steam for me towards the last half that got me laughing. The second episode continued with the pace and was just as good. It's going to be a bit of a wait for the next episode. I started this before it completed so I can't complain too much that I'm left hanging for close to a week before the next one.
