Heartwarming, down-to-earth and beautiful
I watched my first Thai drama 4yrs ago and disliked it so much that I hadn't gone back to Thai dramaland since and it so when I saw this in Netflix I wrote it off but the story was really right up my lane and based on a true story and wouldn't just stay out of my mind, so I decided to try it out and I'm glad to say that I did not regret doing so at all!I love this movie. It is a beautiful depiction of the imperfection of family, and loving each other regardless of those imperfections. It's not a groundbreaking story or new but it's human and I loved that. I loved the down-to-earth acting and feel of the story.
I loved watching the story unfold and watching the normalcy of their lives and also seeing what little I could of the Thai culture.
I think the actors did a great job even the little granddaughter Rainbow. No one was hateful or unbelievable, I loved it. The Grandma-grandson duo obviously carried it and they carried it well!
I especially loved the grandma so so much, she was my favorite character. Reminded me of my grandma, all sass and character and strong-willed 'I can do it all myself thank you very much', and I bless God for each day of her continued good health.
I'm giving this show a 9.5 solely because of some editing issues that occured a few times like in the scene where he's talking to his uncle. It was few but it felt like something was cut out and I noticed it about 3 times. It was a tiny thing but I unfortunately kept noticing it. Other than that, this is a really beautifully shot movie, I'm glad I watched it, I'm happy to try out Thai media again and I'll love to rewatch this someday.
High rewatch value for just the lovely story and gentle depiction.
I noticed and loved the music and it added to the movie. Sometimes I don't notice the BGM or OST of what I'm watching and I usually don't mind because it means, at least it wasn't bad but sometimes I do notice and it's usually cos it's great or terrible. Here it was really good, a light and sweet BGM that added to the story and I liked hearing it.
Please if anyone has any recommendations in this vein, from Thai or anywhere else, please share with me.

A Poignant and Relatable Family Drama
I can only describe this movie in one word - tearjerker. I cried buckets watching this darn movie! I knew this movie garnered several awards and was hailed as one of the best movies of the year. But even so, I was still taken aback by how good it actually is. It is one of those movies that catches you off-guard because you'd think it's tragic and depressing, but it's actually a very wholesome and feel-good family film. Yes, it's heartwrenching and it'll make you weep, but it'll also stir up fond memories of your childhood and the precious time you shared with your familial relations - especially those who have passed away - whether you liked them or not.It reminded me so much of my own grandmother and her last days. She, too, had cancer and passed away in our home under our care. Like the grandma in this movie, she left us a legacy that we cannot quite live up to, and to this day, I ask myself if we're even worthy of what she left us.
I started out disliking the main character M because he appeared to be the typical overprivileged Gen Z bum who expects everything to be handed to him on a silver platter. But as the story progresses, you see this significant change in his attitude towards life and his own family. Talk about great character development! By the end of the film, I empathized with him and I was totally on his corner.
What really made me cry was the angle about favoritism among children because I could definitely relate to that. The caretakers are often the ones taken for granted and least appreciated. I felt that because I was that caretaker and I have always felt that I was my mother's least favorite child. It is also a deeply provocative film that made me think about growing older and where I will end up. It reminded me a bit of that Japanese film I saw last year, Plan 75. It made me feel depressed. But it also made me want to prepare for my future and retirement because being old and alone is scary.
This is such an amazing film that pays tribute to the very idea of family. There are no perfect families, no perfect parents, and no perfect children. But we all do our best to love and care for each other the only way we know how.

Film lain yang bikin aku nangis banjir. Ceritanya itu sederhana, tentang seorang nenek untuk cucu-cucunya sekaligus menjadi ibu untuk anak-anaknya. Konflik keluarga yang berputar dipersoalan warisan dan kasih sayang. Feelnya kerasa banget karena menurutku film ini tuh benar-benar hal yang memang ada di kehidupan nyata.
Tapi, yang paling bikin nangis itu sewaktu Amah juga nangis, dan sewaktu M menabur bunga dengan asal biar dia dihantui sama Amah.

สำหรับเรื่องนี้เป็นอีกเรื่องที่ผมชอบมากที่สุด โดยเฉพาะเรื่องราวที่ชวนให้ติดตามตั้งแต่ต้นจนจบ โดยเฉพาะตัวละครและนักแสดง ถ่ายทอดอารมณ์ได้ดีมาก ทำให้คนดูอย่างผมอารมณ์คล้อยตาม จุดที่อารมณ์เศร้าแบบว่าน้ำตาผมมันออกมาเองเลยครับ และสิ่งที่ชอบอีกอย่างไม่ว่าจะเป็นดนตรีประกอบภาพยนตร์ เพลงประกอบภาพยนตร์ที่ได้ Billkinมาร้องด้วย เพราะมากกกWas this review helpful to you?
