Both tell the story of a young boy whose life is full of tragedy and is battling terminal cancer. Both try to make the life of a girl they have hurt beautiful before they die. And both series are full of lessons from a beautiful life whose shine remains even after death. Like a star that shone and went out long ago, but its shine now illuminates hearts.

The main leads are kind of lost because of a traumatic past. They try to help each other healing. It's a love story. The acting is phenomenal too.

Mr. Plankton and It's Okay to Not Be Okay are both works by the " same writer"
focus on flawed characters seeking connection and healing through unconventional relationships.
Both explore themes of loneliness, trauma, and the search for connection, complex emotions and personal growth with blend of humor.

ultimately offer messages of hope and healing, highlighting the power of human connection and the importance of acknowledging and addressing emotional wounds.

Mr. Plankton" follows Hae-jo, a man who feels like he drifts through life without belonging, as he embarks on a final journey to find his biological father after learning he is terminally ill. Jae-mi, his ex-girlfriend, unexpectedly joins him on this journey, and she too is grappling with her own personal struggles

Both dramas touch upon the characters' search for their place in the world and a sense of belonging.

If you are looking for a drama which involves exes, this is the one as both dramas have exes reunite with one another.

For obvious reasons I made the comparison---both including a character which has been diagnosed with a disease. Although, a warning, very different endings/resolution to this problem.

Mr. Plankton is similar to My Country of the New Age in many ways. Hae-joo's character, like Seon-ho, was full of pain that she hid behind her smiles. Both of them were full of goodness and kindness but pretended to be evil, hiding their beautiful inner selves behind a mask of evil and malice. Only in the hope of being able to protect their loved ones. Both of them thought they hated their fathers who pushed them away, while they wanted to be with their fathers with all their being and be loved by them. Their fathers were also similar to each other. Fathers who truly loved their children but perhaps didn't know how to express it properly and expressed their love for their children too late. Jae-mi was also a bit like Ho-yi. Both of them initially misinterpreted Seon-ho and Hae-joo's behaviors and pushed away the ones they loved more than anyone, but eventually realized their pure intentions and love.

Both female leads seem feisty even though they’re so adorably tiny, and both male leads are extremely hot

Both deal with traumatized characters and show realistic flawed humans, similar quirky vibes. Both are deep dramas.

I made a suggestion that would definitely create a better trauma for you than this. Definitely 100 times better than Mr. Plankton Kdrama. If you like this kind of ending, I definitely recommend you to watch this movie. Also, you will watch the journey of pure love in the movie.

Both have an orphan ML with abandonment issues and terminall illness with a love story.

The scars of the ML of Mr Plankton has brought back memories of the poor traumatized ML of the Classic old kdrama I'm Sorry I Love You, both are messes.

Both drama are very similar
-Both ML has cancer type of problem and not much time to live
-FL in DC has cancer and FL in MP has peri-menopause on her late 20s
-Both story are heartbreak but is worth it
-Both story represent some kind of seasonal especially the ending. DC represents spring the 3 Gerbera flowers and MP represents winter the snow
If you like MP i am sure DC is for you.
