Almost nothing happens
An interesting watch...a little strange but I've seen weirder. Thought more would happen between them to be honest. The most intimate scenes were all in the human's head. The characters were pretty likeable. Acting was fine. Nothing too exciting about the series to be honest, just overall pretty mid.Was this review helpful to you?

A love story between a human and an AI
I really enjoyed this drama from the very beginning because it’s a very different plot than what you normally see in a BL drama, but ever since episode 8-10 came I felt the story staring to go downhill and I didn’t really enjoy it anymore.I know having an relationship ship with an AI is really insane because it’s not normal, but when you forget the fact that Ever 9 is a AI it is a very good drama.I mean once Ever 9 came Yi Ping’s life changed I really don’t think he likes humans because if seemed that he never really liked or had a crush on someone before Ever 9. Also I do think at times Yi Ping definitely forgot that Ever 9 is an AI because he even brought him to the place he works (school) and really only talked to him like he was his own student. They have the chemistry and everything, which was shown from episodes 1-7, but Once episode 8 aired I wasn’t feeling that same feeling that I felt when I saw the previous ones then ep 9 came and I didn’t really like it because it was literally a whole talk about how Yi Ping can’t have Ever 9 and date him because he’s AI and all I’m thinking is why did the uncle give Ever 9 in the first place and why did they add a love feature if they aren’t supposed to date and fall in love with each other. The last episode felt like a waste except once they did the seven year time skip because it was basically just showing episode 9’s storyline all over again, and once they did the time skip I finally felt the same feeling I felt when 1-7 was happening because they were back together with no problems. I do kind of recommend this drama, but also don’t at the same time.

AI's ai (Robot's Love)
I've been debating for quite sometime if I should watch the series given it's scifi-AI storyline so I've read reviews and waited for the released of all the episodes before watching it.Music: This is what I loved most in this series especially the opening song. I'm someone who love singing and the first time I watch any series I will let the entire opening song play without skipping and listen on it. If I found it beautiful I won't skip it every time I watch the episodes of the series but if it's not that outstanding then the forward button will become my dear friend.
Acting/cast: The casts and their skill is giving. I can see the chemistry just not the compound one. Not that chemistry which will make you look forward for the next scenes and which will make you giddy. There eyes alone conveys emotional conversation which transcends beyond the screen and that's amazingly however...
Storyline: however, I was reminded that the other ML is a robot. I have nothing against an AI and a human relationship but it is something that is quite different or should I say unsound? At least in a long run. I know, that many people may argue and say that... "we are now able to accept a relationship between man and man and of any kind so why not a robot and a human?" It may sound silly but it is not appealing, at least to me. I could've accepted it if the robot was unsalvageable an he accepted the fact that the love between him and the robot is not something that lasts but nope that's not what happened...some people may hate this but it is really not romantic for me... Thus, I created my own finale... (I imagined my own finale)
Instead of fixing the robot for their romance to continue why not make the robot permanently damage. Then, reveal to the ML that the reason why the robot act like a human is because someone is operating them and the robot was modeled after that person. Thus, having a person that has the same appearance with the robot. Then, the ML will come in contact with that person... the person who looks like the will deny that he knew the ML but the ML will insist in knowing him. Then that person will start to show actions or answers that the ML only revealed to the robot. Then the truth will surface...that that person is someone who controlled the robot. He is the one who chooses on how the robot should react and respond resonating his emotion through the robot. That way, the issue of the ML being unable to socialize will be resolved and he won't have a robot as his partner but a human. This plot sounds better right?
Anyways, just so you know. I won't be watching the series again. I even played latter episodes in 2.0x speed just to know what happened and to finish watching it because I lost the interest in watching it when I had the hunch that they will pursue the AIxHuman tandem.
That's all.

Good watch!
I'm a fan of the AI storyline. I thought they did a real good job with this concept! Actors did great too! My only gripe, and it's more of a rant, the Uncle really ticked me off in the end. He waited that long to decide to be nice to his nephew, and smiled too like he was something special. Or may be too emotionally invested. lol. Either way, I enjoyed this BL because it's not like the others and we still get a happy ending! I don't watch shows for them to be realistic, I watch them to make me happy. Fortunately this one did (besides the Uncle and the assistant lol)Was this review helpful to you?

I hate AI and I hate this show
OK so honestly it's my fault that i hated this show so much because the entire premise of a human dating (and sleeping with????) a robot makes me so uncomfortable and I watched it anyways because I loved all the other shows (especially stay by my side) but damn it made me more uncomfy than i could have even imagined!!First off it was already weird and icky that he would want to date and sleep with a robot instead of a human.... sorry but as a human your basic values and ethics should stop you from falling in love with something that is NOT A HUMAN!!!!! And second of all if him being a robot wasn't already weird enough they made him a robot that literally acts like a child and infantilizes his weird childlike innocence. The whole scene where he was teaching him how to kiss made me feel kind of sick idk. I could still imagine the feeling of being in love/kissing someone before I experienced it so if the robot is so "humanlike" idk how it couldn't especially with all that goddamn PROGRAMMED DATA!!
They had the chance to make the end okay by either somehow making ever 9 a human or revealing that he was never even a robot. But no. They decided "hey lets make the literal worst ending to a show that anybody could even imagine" and then hit us with the "seven years later".
One thing i'll give this show is the actors did a good job and they had good chemistry but it was wasted on a weird ass story like this.

hmmm....
To be honest, there was never a point of this show where I was sure if I liked it or not. But there was something about it that kept me from dropping it all the way until the end! I think there's an interesting premise here, but I'm not quite sure it was executed well. An over-reliance on montage and rushed/choppy story made it hard to buy into the romance. Honestly, sometimes it felt more like a cautionary tale about unethical experimentation than a love story, but I was kind of into the vague horror of that! I don't think it was bad, but I don't think it was what I expected or wanted either. In honor of this indecision: 5 stars, dead middle.-The Full Review-
STORY:
I found the story to be simultaneously the strongest and weakest point of this show. For it's strengths, it definitely had a message that it believed in strongly. The conversation around history and humanity was quite interesting, and I liked the way artificial intelligence complicated Chu Yiping's perspectives. There was a very compelling quality to the way he rationalized Ever 9's humanity, and a satisfying conflict with his Uncle.
For it's weaknesses, however, the love story was... odd? I don't want to say it wasn't clear or believable--I actually really enjoyed the unique ways these two people connected. But we aren't given enough time with them to truly feel that relationship or the strength of it. Too much is left in the montage, so a lot of the most emotional scenes feel fairly unearned. I would have liked to see some better pacing here.
ACTING:
Ah. I guess the problem here lies with the lack of progress. I think both actors were good at the more robotic side of the character--the early days when they were stiff, awkward, and uncomfortable. But I would have liked to see these characters pushed a lot farther as the relationship progresses. We never really get a proper sense of this astronomical change in Chu Yiping that the other characters talk about. And we only ever get glimpses of a natural humanity that could have sold the relationship. It was alright.
PRODUCTION:
The production quality was so hit and miss during this show, but I think my biggest issue was that it missed on things that should be easy. It's fine and understandable if a low budget production has some less-than-impressive special effects! It doesn't really upset my enjoyment of the series. But when there's sloppy make up? You can't afford to take two minutes to fix his foundation? I think it made some of the scenes feel more amateur than they actually were and distracted from the story.
In all, I can't really say I would recommend this show. But I don't think I would discourage someone who was interested in this concept from checking it out. I would say, it stays pretty constant--so if you aren't feeling the first episode or two, you might want to drop!

Really enjoyable!
The actors are so handsome, they are so sweet in the show and it was really enjoyable!Sometimes we just want someone who love us, treasure us, and be with us happily, it is really that simple~
Absolutely love the show!!
I really love those 2 actors, I hope there would be more shows of them together!

A Robot Falls For A Human, But The Robot Is A Human
I was really excited for what this could have been. Robot + Human falling in love, delving into the progression of feelings for the Robot especially before (according to the summary) disaster strikes. Instead, I got two humans in close quarters liking each other really, really fast. We're originally shown that CYP isn't fond of people, has a harsh demeanor, and prefers to keep to himself. An assistant robot is literally forced upon him by his uncle, so it makes sense to assume he would be particularly displeased, but he is immediately docile upon meeting Ever 9. I could suspend the resulting belief from that if Ever 9 was in anyway robotic as it'd make sense that CYP was more confortable around something obviously inhuman. But Ever 9 is a person, period. Nothing about him is robotic at all. Maybe a naive person, but even still, barely. He speaks like a person, emotes like a person, feels like a person, has likes, dislikes, wants, and expresses displeasure at things he doesn't want to do. I feel robbed of the premise I was promised, because without the robot plot, literally nothing changes about the story so far.
Of course, all of this is explained away by calling Ever 9 super high tech and top secret, but it sincerely feels like the author/director/screenwriter is just constantly shushing me and telling me to "just go with it." I suppose, as of episode 4, this is more a compendium of "wouldnt this be cute" moments than the series promised by the summary. If you go in not expecting much or even just expecting that, it'll be a decent watch.
Edit: after watching episode five the first thing I said was, "this makes me want to eat carrots to go into anaphylactic shock." I am allergic to carrots, to be clear. Im dropping this for all the reasons stated above (plus a couple extra now), but in bold and underlined.

Wasted Potential So Dropped
BLs are becoming increasingly juvenile. I really have higher expectations from Taiwanese BLs than I do of Korean and Thai BLs. Maybe it’s because I had watched the HIStory anthology before Covid that I have this mindset. Not only have the HIStory series declined in quality swith with HIStory 4&5 but with each Taiwanese BL that came out in the last 2 years. The scripts have become juvenile and the acting has downgraded.
I cannot believe that a grown man who is a professor at a university is so childish. This is suppose to be an intellectual man but he is rendered into an idiot when he is around a robot. Even if he has emotional stunted trauma, there is no way he can be do idiotic in acting like a regressive teenager.
I am checking out of this so I do not rot my brain with this drivel. I am so disappointed with taiwanese BLs being brainless fodder that’s only digestible for schoolgirls and childish adults who have lost their sense of reality in favor of this kind of unicorns and sunshine nonsense.
This is definitely another fine example of BLs going down the crapper. I am sure there will be plenty of schoolgirls who will keep romanticizing this kind of terrible BL as the greatest thing since slice bread. 😩

My communication and relationships with fellow humans are not the best. If I had an "Ever 9" robot, I would probably fall in love with it.
This film confronts us with the same moral question as Steven Spielberg's film "A.I. Artificial Intelligence".
"If a robot we create can truly love a human, then what responsibility does the human have towards the robot?
Both to the one who created it and to the one who uses it."
When it comes time to create such advanced robots, this question becomes very important.

Distastefully Cringy and Creepy
There is something distastefully creepy and cringy about this series and I frankly did not find it even a bit romantic in any way. In fact, I found it rather sad and pathetic. This series says more about a disconnect from reality than about the advancement of AI. The acting in this series is flat and stilted and monotone, not just by the robot but by the human. At times, it was hard to tell who really was the robot. In a real sense, I wish I had not watched this series. It made me feel uncomfortable and apprehensive about the future. You can read my full review of this series at BLBliss.com

Fantastic
This was so well done.Chu and Nine acted like a couple, naturally touching each other, it was so real. They did an amazing job.
The story was a powerful message about love. A real nice story.
Dont rewatch many shows and if any really but would watch this again.
It was just really well done.
