fei ting is unreliable and a poor husband

i really don't like fei ting. first he dragged out his engagement with lin mei, even though he knew she was aging and facing pressure from her family. instead, he just lied about coming home soon. then when he does come back, after fei ni and fang muyang put so much effort into getting him a job, he doesn't take it seriously. he lies and takes other work. when lin mei finds out she tells him to stop and never hide things from her again, warning him not to lose his job in the publicity department. but fei ting ignores her and continues taking side work. then he loses his job. but does he tell lin mei? no! he keeps lying to her. he even illegally sells sweet potatoes instead of telling her, and of course he gets busted for that like immediately. i know fei ting means well and is never malicious, but it feels like lin mei is always the last person he thinks about
