War and People

The main plot is the family misfortunes and life experiences of Tong Jia Ting, the son of Tong Shuang Wei, an upper-level KMT official and legal authority, showing a panoramic picture of half of China during the Anti-Japanese War. In 1937, when the city of Nanjing was destroyed, Tong Shuang Wei, a law professor in the Kuomintang, fled with his wife and children. In eight years, from Nanjing to Wuhan, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Chongqing, his father, Tong Shuang Wei, gradually realized the dark corruption of the Kuomintang government and the ugly face of provoking the civil war. In the end, his ideal is disillusioned. The son, Tong Jia Ting, inherited his mother's legacy, grew up rapidly under the leadership of his uncle Liu Zhong Hua, and joined the Communist Party of China.
