Revenge that was served, not quite so perfectly
The show really leaned into the FL’s “family” being trash - forced confinement, poisonings, murder for hire, verbal abuse etc. At times it was completely over the top as was the way in which the FL ended up being raised by them. Though this is a fictitious story, it was hard to suspend disbelief surrounding how she ended up in that household due to the extreme contrivances and coincidences. Many of the characters in this were as dumb as a box of rocks. The FL was pretty dense to start, but thankfully she wised up after literally getting a new lease on life. But her ex fiancé was probably one of the stupidest characters I’ve seen in a while. He repeatedly made incredibly imbecilic decisions and was just…argh. It didn’t help that the actor in the role wasn’t that good. He only had two facial expressions, mindless stare into nothingness or mouth hanging open with a painful frown which I guess was supposed to convey shock and horror. He was awful.
The FL’s father was not only a horrible person, but he was pretty dense too considering he couldn’t see that his wife was a sociopath despite her repeatedly deceitful and abusive behaviors. The ML’s half brother also wasn’t the brightest bulb in the chandelier, but in hindsight I found nothing about that character made any sense. He was in the story purely for plot.
The revenge plot was okay, but I’ve seen better. The setup and execution lacked punch because the audience was oftentimes completely in the dark about what the FL was planning to do and the story didn’t build. It just moved along at an even pace. As a result, when the villains were finally taken down it was anti-climatic. Moreover, after everything the FL went through, I didn’t think it was realistic that she’d ever forgive her father. He allowed her to be abused in his household for years and did nothing about it. In the end, he didn’t deserve to be in her life or to walk away virtually unscathed.
The love story was a little ridiculous, but what else is new. The ML fell in love with a painting by the FL. Watched her from afar which led to him falling deeply in love with her. It can’t get anymore preposterous than this. But…the leads had really good chemistry, which made me a believer in their love. I would’ve liked to have seen more push/pull in their relationship before they got together. More close moments in the house they shared and a little more to their “honeymoon” would’ve been nice too. Though the revenge plot was lackluster I will admit I had a good laugh when the dumb ex boyfriend marriage plans got ruined when the FL’s stepsister showed up on his doorstep 9 months pregnant, declaring him as the baby’s father. He fought so hard and did so many utterly dumb and despicable things to please her and be with her. He finally got the spoiled insufferable brat just when he thought he’d moved on from her to greener pastures. Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving person.
Overall, this was entertaining enough to see it through to the end, but it wasn’t as well executed as it could’ve been.

I really liked it, but...
A young woman, Yi Joo, is treated miserably by her family, and almost dies. But then, time rewinds and she finds herself traveling to the past. Taking her chances she's plotting a marriage with Do Guk, that will allow her take revenge for the wrongs she's suffered. Do Guk eventually gets wants a real marriage with her.First, I gotta say that the time-slip works smoothly, once she goes back in time and she makes her decision for a revenge. Jung Yoo Min who plays Yi Joo has such a beautiful expressions, I feel all her pain in her tears. The main couple is a real guilty pleasure with amazing chemistry, their cliché moments that are just so fun to watch! Sung Hoon plays so well in this role, it's perfect for him! I enjoy the second couple too, they are doing awesome being villains. Kudos to all the other villains too!
The show is totally a soap opera, with all the messy twist and turns of a soap opera; back stabbing within a chaebol family - crazy but works well with the over-the-top acting from all cast. Even though it’s messy, it does not drag from the beginning all the way to the end. Every episodes has a drama, angst and reveals to keep the momentum. However, the resolution doesn’t feel as satisfying as the twist and turns by the end... it feels like it's written just for closure, wasn’t as genuine anymore. I don't think this show stands the test of time, but if evil scheming melodrama is your jam, you will enjoy!

Tropey but fun and bingeworthy
This show is ridden with tropes and cliches but yet manages to make itself bingeworthy. The plot is simple, the ending predictable but the execution is what makes the show count. There are a few unexpected developments that add to the show's interest.
Having watched "Marry my Husband"(South Korea) I had almost anticipated ML also returning in time like the FL. But it was pleasant nonetheless, and made some of the earlier developments between the ML and FL more believable and logical too. I loved the fact that there was no unnecessary break up between the leads; the show also managed to show a healthy and organic growth of the relationship between the ML and FL. But being a 12 episode show it packed in a lot of ups and downs and unexpected moments in the narrative; the Secretary Kim for example or the teacher Jamie. I loved how the FL was embraced by her in-laws.
The acting of the main cast was great and overall it was a good looking cast; but I loved the characterisation more: the character of Do Na the ML's sister, the Granny, the ML's mother and antagonists, specially Jung Hye.The FL's growth from ep 1 to ep 12 and her eventual realisation that she did not return from the dead to take revenge but actually to know herself, to grow herself was satisfying.
Despite knowing how the show would progress (villains and heroes-wise) it was satisfying to see the leads' victories, esp that of the FL.
Of course, last episode seemed insipid somehow but as I had devoted so many hours to binge watch, I did not complain.
One last thing, the ML was a legit green flag. Not to speak of the fact that Sung Hoon is so good looking; there are many moments esp with Yi Joo (FL) when he is just smoldering the screen despite the pretty unflattering clothes he gets to wear on the show.
Overall a fun one-time watch.

Finished in one seating… haha
I thought I’d drop this I wasn’t in to it in the beginning episode 1 to be exact but luckily I pushed through all though I felt that this could’ve been a 16 episode series, overall I enjoyed it.. there were missing scenes that would’ve been nice if they touched upon, but I also like that it wasn’t dragging at all.. kinda fast paced.. really wish they made it longer. The chemistry is there believe me, I rarely get butterflies but when I do it’s really there. I liked it because of the ML and FL, and how effectively annoying the antagonists are. there’s room for improvements on some parts of the storyline but still I’m satisfied. It was worth my time, thank goodness I stumbled upon this, after dropping Everyone loves me (c-drama)Was this review helpful to you?
Now this is how you tell a modern cinderella story! Jung Yoo Min as Han Yi Joo excels as she seizes her chance to grow some strength against her maddeningly selfish family. Sung Hoon as Seo Do Guk is the perfect partner, truly supportive, protective and considerate. Together, through all the ridiculous twists and turns of the plot they stay true to themselves. This keeps the plot from getting frustrating, you are never mad at the main characters, just the circumstances they find themselves in.
There's lots of protectiveness and rescuing, and it's just all around good fun. A couple points off for 1) incorporating prejudices in about adoption/step family (over and over 'true blood' relatives support each other in the way that not 'true blood' relatives do not) 2) there was a not sex-positive, dubious consent sex scene that was thrown in for no good reason.
Music, cinematography, are all competent and typical of this style of drama. If you like dramatic over the top plots and a strong side of romance this is for you.

I WILL NO LONGER FEEL PAIN! NOTHING WILL TURN RED ANYMORE.
I thank MBN for showing that a drama with a modest budget, but with a good script, well-developed and implemented clichés, well-executed plot and direction, can indeed be successful and win over the audience. This drama has demonstrated that it is possible to achieve this feat. The ending of the drama, in my opinion, presents all loose ends properly tied up, with a clear and conclusive conclusion. The explanation for the characters' second chance in life was simple: "God wanted it, and it's all right."Of course, this drama has become one of my favorites on MDL, being an incredible experience to follow these twelve episodes. I hope MBN produces more dramas with the same atmosphere.
Now that the drama is over, I can say that, in the webtoon, there are three characters who go back to the past (the protagonists and Kim Jae Won). I believe that not including this plot for Kim did not harm the development of the story. If MBN wanted to, they could have extended the plot to 16 to 20 episodes, but it's all right. It's good to end things at their peak, which helps preserve good memories.

In love with the k-drama <3
This Korean drama is a really fun drama if you like revenge! I wanted to watch this drama for a long time but kept putting it off. And I really regret that I left this drama for so long. I give this drama a 9 out of 10. The story was completely correct and everything was really good, the acting, the setting, the actors and even the background music.really perfect as the title itself says.
the story is about a little girl who is adopted from an orphanage at a young age. In a rich family you would say that is really good but no it was anything but good.. she grows up and is hated by her stepmother and stepsister. They abuse her a lot while her father does nothing about it (but later he deeply regretted it).
She really wants to leave her home and believes she has found her great love when she meets and marries her husband.
Until she really understands why he married her, it was actually all a big lie. He never loved her and only abused her so he was closer to her stepsister (his true love). - After this, much more happens. If you want to know, you should definitely watch the series.
Each episode is around an hour, I actually thought it was really long, but each episode ends really excitingly, making you want to go straight to the next episode.
I really love that everything fits together so well and that everything turns out well.
The girl had her perfect life: a warm family, while her stepsister lived in a hut and her mother was in prison.
In the end everyone got the promised salary and what they earned and I thought that was absolutely PERFECT
and I honestly could watch it over and over again.
Everything was great, that's why I give this k-dram a 9/10.
I definitely recommend buying this drama, I finished this drama in 3 days and there are 12 episodes of an hour or more each so if I were you and I love revenge I wouldn't pass up this drama!! !
thanks for reading this far! XOXO

Perfect mini-drama
Coming in at 12 episodes, about one hour a piece, this drama packed a lot into its episodes. Binge watched this addictive drama and loved every second. No bloated cast, no loose ends, wrapped with a pretty bow! Could have gone full melo, but chose to walk the line well instead. Great cast, great music with a seeming not big budget. Based on a webtoon of the same name, it could also be compared to Marry My Husband (both Korean and Japanese versions.) Both originals came out in 2021. Well done either way. Give it a watch and enjoy! Was this review helpful to you?
revenge never looked so sweet
hey ladies, get you a man who's down to get your revenge day one 👏 we love to see itthis was a fun little makjang. as expected, everything that could happen did happen. stellar. I thought the cast worked well together and jung yoo min was really wonderful in the lead role. she really sold it for me (and she just cries so prettily what the heck 😭).
the leads relationship was surprisingly so very sweet, like a warm hug amidst all the dramatic backstabbing and slapping. I was rooting for them from the start which is really my favorite kind of investment in a drama couple.

Revenge + Love Done Right
He is a wealthy tycoon. She is a naive painter.
They appear fine, but they both carry deep wounds inflicted by family.
When she’s sent back in time after a tragic accident, will them teaming up help her exact her revenge? By helping her, will he find relief from his burdens as well?
So revenge dramas aren’t usually my genre but this was so good! I absolutely loved it & highly recommend it. The plot & pacing kept me engaged the whole time.
The Leads chemistry is chemistrying from the first moment she approaches him for help. Watching their story unfold & their bond deepen is so satisfying. And their love blooming made me smile so much!
The ML is a whole green forest. His every action is for the FL’s good. He’s always there to support, encourage, & protect her. He’s the swoon worthy lead us watchers adore. His love is so pure & the ways it helps heal her is perfect.
The FL’s growth is beautiful. Her transformation from timid & naive to bold & confident is girl-crush worthy. Her learning to trust the ML & falling in love with him is such a delight.
Seeing the villains, who are truly wretched, get what they deserve is such a sweet victory. It’s the perfect ending that this beautiful couple deserves after all they endured to get there.

The best makjang I have ever seen!
Well, usually when I start watching a makjang drama by accident, then I end up dropping it almost immediately. Opposed to that not only have I managed to complete this, but also more often than not I found it entertaining. While watching this drama it made me wonder what a "perfect" makjang drama would be like & what are the things that I would change to make that happen if I were the writer. My conclusion is that outside of fixing some of the most glaring plotholes, there isn't really anything that I could change to make this better & still keep it a yelly/slappy/soapy authentic makjang. While on this topic I have to mention `Marry My Husband`, that drama at its core has the same basic plot, but it has fewer plotholes & less overall craziness, so I think it's alright to say that is the somewhat perfected version that came later, BUT it's not a makjang anymore. Makjangs are popular for a reason & this one is the least offensive of the lot, so the high rating on MDL is almost justified. There are plentiful makjang tropes of course, lots of shouting, crying, unexpected family relations and all that jazz, but the most annoying ones are wonderfully absent. Though I'm not claiming that this is objectively good, but the fact that it's a makjang that triangle haters can safely watch is a miracle in on itself.---
I have seen Sung Hoon in several dramas before & I always thought that he is a pretty and hardworking oppa with very little acting talent. I have to admit though that in this drama he's produced the performance of his life. While I wouldn't go quite as far as to call his acting awesome, especially in the final 2 episodes, but this is decent. Hard work does pay off, at least sometimes!

"Perfect Marriage Revenge" is a time travel revenge drama, about a woman named Yi Joo. She's a good person and wife, but her life is far from being perfect, everything is a pretty lie. She's framed by her mother-in-law and betrayed by her husband, who's cheating on her with her sister, Yoo Ra. Yi Joo gets in an accident and goes back in time, before she even got married. She join hands with Do Guk, to get her revenge on everyone that hurt her.The romance between Yi Joo and Do Guk is really surprising, more passionate then what I was expecting, that is because Do Guk wanted a real marriage and he made everything possible to make Yi Joo fell in love with her and let's be honest, it wouldn't take too long for that, the man was just perfect. HAHA'
Yi Joo's birth secret is a very good subject, to show how Jung Hye was a lying bitch from the start. It was all part of her plan, make Yi Joo be adopted by her own father and put her daughter Yoo Ra, in Yi Joo's place.
Speaking of Yoo Ra, that's another bitch. How could she think of start dating Do Guk's brother? It's so crazy.
The drama's real twist isn't actually too surprising, the story gave us hints all the time, even with Do Guk's falling in love with Yi Joo so easily, that's because he already knew her before her marriage proposal to him, they were together in the same accident and they both were given a second chance in life.
