Amazingly Entertaining

I regret ignoring all seasons and series of Ossan's Love. I have never laughed this much watching a series. Episode 5 hot spring scenes was the most hilarious of all for me.
Some viewers will find some characters irritating. However, I find the writer a genius for meshing a hotpodge of characters together and making them work harmoniously, producing a very entertaining series. This has a little bit of everything and nothing excessive except for Chief's screaming and Haruta's reactions but I think they were necessary to complete the comedic aspect of the series.
I truly hope they do another sequel.

I enjoyed all Ossan's Love sequels but this is my most favorite one.

Why is it the best series ever ahhhhhhhhhhh

This is the best JBL ever. After the 1st season and the movie I thought it couldn't get any better and when they announced that a season 2 is on its way I was worried that it might not be as good as the previous ones. However, it just proved me wrong and I am happy it did.
The story unfolded in the best way, with the couple still trying to balance everything in their life and overcoming obstacles together. The new characters felt so nice, like they never felt new, like they were always a part of the story.

Apotheosis!

Constancy, consistency, and comedic. The three best words to describe this triumvirate of OSSAN’S LOVE, which is one of the best, if not the best BL series and franchises out there. It classically defines and shapes what this genre is all about. Perhaps not to a core of current fans who are zealots of the plethora of BLs with gorgeous young men in stories, that, for the most part, are forgettable and whose ‘love for one another’ is defined by the amount of ‘shipping performances’ they do together. This season and the ones before it are the true pioneers of what BL storytelling is all about and how to carry on with a narrative that remains as fresh and original as the first one. And as poignant.
I laughed and I cried. A lot in this season. But most of the time I simply sat there and watched as if I was reading a good book. It gives you that kind of a feeling.

I shall be devastated if this is the last season. I want and need more. They are family. Their last words were, “We are family.” Nothing can be more earnest as this defines and expresses and shows every form of a family imaginable. This franchise is exemplary and, dare I say, an apotheosis in every sense of that word. You will find no better defining example of what a BL is or ought to be than in any of these series and especially in this latest season. Humor, poignancy, charm, affinity, love, and most of all human warmth. What a ride it has been. Please tell me it is not over yet!

THE PERFECT ENDING TO THE SERIES

AHHH it's over. I've watched all versions of 'Ossan Love'. At first I was reluctant when a sequel to Ossan Love come out, afraid if they would still push Chief still being the relationship wrecker. BUT I AM SO HAPPY I WAS WRONG.

This series revolves around Haruta and Maki life after marriage from the 1st series + WITH additional side character happening!! I AM VERY SHOCK TO SEE MIURA SHOHEI IN THIS, moreover having a partner of his own, aka ARATA?! Their plot is completely different that HaruMaki -- more of sad and overcoming the past trauma -- Honestly, I had not expect them to get together in the end as Izumi seemed so attached to Akito, but luckily he learned to move on :D

The chemistry is so natural and so cute to see. It wasn't cringy at all, and often times it feels like you are HaruMaki's friends watching them flirt and wanna kick them cause they were being so love-dovey kimoi but you can't help but smile and be happy for the couple :D Props to Kei honestly. He never fails to bring Haruta's character come to life and so realistic and dramatic without making it too forceful and weird lol.

I am so so so so so happy they make this series just full of fluff and no conflict. It was the perfect way to make a sequel without the unnecessary conflict. I mean, they've been married for 4 years, and it make sense for HaruMaki to have very good communication in their relationship! God thing the writers didn't waste any time on that nonsense argument.

TBH the only character irritated me the most is Takegawa and his endless attempt to get Maki back, BUT THANK GOD, Maki never budge what so ever cause he knows BOUNDRIES //cough unlike other bl MC/ML//

ANYWAY, DO WATCH THIS AFTER WATCHING THE 1ST ONE! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!

That's how you finish a beloved series

I laughed, I cried, arguably better than previous parts!!

Yoshida Kotaro (Kurosawa) is hands down the power horse of this thing and his scenes with Hayashi Kento (Maki) are absolute peak comedy. There is a bunch of side characters, all beloved from the previous installments, and all make the entire drama a delicious meal, so funny and special all the time.

1. Story: It was so much fun a change of dynamic with Kurosawa being employed by Haruta and Maki, still having special feelings for Haruta, still fighting with Maki, but on a different level. The story surprised me in places and I couldn't fully predict where writers would take it, which is great. The Izumi-Kiku plot was weird in places which is why I couldn't give full 10 for a story.

2. Acting: Absolutely brilliant. Please watch another BL themed work To Each His Own where Yashida played a horrible awful boss, it shows his range. What a wonderful actor.

3. Music: main theme is nice, but the rest is forgettable.

4. Rewatch value: I don't rewatch dramas, but this one I will at some point.

You managed to deliver perfection with humor yet touching those Subjects wich are realistick in life.

Thank you for talking about aging population, love in aging population, loneliness with age, fear of dying alone, difficulties of being a single parent ,and reality of gay couple in skeptic society.,communication between couples....
Im greatful that you can touch those Subjects with humor and charisma.
Kotaro Yoshida you are an amezing actor, he managed to portray a difficult role with charisma and dignity.
Kei Tanaka and Kento Hayashi , you are perfect and natural born Actors, your effortless way you perfomed as couple the chemistry and your charisma is amezing.
(Figths between Kurosawa and Maki is just so funny 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣)
For people who leave negative comments refren attacks on Actors, they are just portrying their roles,and aging is not a sin ,wanting to love and to be loved is not a sin .
And please go study japanese culture before you bring your woke ideas on the table.
I agree with the story, love is love no matter where or from whom it comes from. And family is what we make it to be.

I'm too excited!!!

Ossan's Love 2018 was one of my fav BLs of all time i lost counts of how many times I have rewatched it. The movie was cute as well but i thought it couldn't top the series (didn't watch the one without maki though because i'm a huge maki protector and harumaki stan but i also really like haruta i can't choose they're both adorable!!!). It's very unlikely imo that season 2 of any series could be better than season 1 so I had 0 expectation although i was very anticipated knowing there would be a sequel series. But OMG i had been binge-watching Ossan's Love Returns the whole day and had to stop myself bc I need to sleep. IT'S SO GOOD and dare I say even better than season 1! I'm so excited i have to write this comment although i'm only half-way through i love harumaki so so so much i wanna throw up their relationship is the ultimate green flag 😭 it's the same good acting from all very popular and experienced actors/actresses, top-notch comical humour with better story writing and production AND THE SECOND COUPLE omg the pain they are bringing me 😭 it's so good i defo will rewatch this once i finish it!!

Harumaki para siempre.

Como fan de esta saga desde 2020, tenía altas expectativas acerca de esta segunda temporada aun sabiendo loo mal ejecutada que estuvo Ossan's Love: In the Sky. Sin embargo, igual me llevé una sorpresa gratificante porque en solo nueve episodios le dieron un cierre a todas las cuestiones de los personajes secundarios, a la par de que nos introdujeron una nueva historia (Izumi y Kiku) y vimos el crecimiento de HaruMaki como matrimonio.

En principio me asustaba que Kurosawa otra vez quisiera interferir en la relación de ellos dos, pero verlo convertirse en el padre que siempre fue para Haruta y que de verdad hiciese todo lo que pudiese para conseguir la felicidad de ellos me alegró muchísimo. Después de Haruta, Kurosawa tiene el mejor corazón de todos.

Mi única queja es que, en mi opinión, Kiku e Izumi no debieron terminar juntos. Kiku se pasó los últimos años yendo detrás de Izumi aún cuando este estaba con el otro, se caló todo el duelo y desde inicio a fin siempre Izumi lo ponía de lado. Él debería sanar antes de estar con alguien que sea mucho mejor que Izumi. Pero bueno, si él es feliz...

Esta serie se merece un mejor review, pero esto es todo lo que puedo hacer por ahora. Con todo mi corazón, quiero agradecer a los actores, productores, guionistas y a todas las personas involucradas en esta serie. Por nueve semanas me hicieron sentir que el 2024 valía la pena y le trajeron color a mis fines de semana.
