Had Potential

Based on the first few eps, I really thought this series had potential to tell a well rounded story within 6 episodes, but by the end of ep 4... it gets a little messy (and annoying). Not sure why Night tripped over his own two feet so much, especially if he had y e a r s to wrap his head around what he felt for Dream. I really didn't like how he emotionally toyed with Dream throughout the series. But I guess it shouldn't have been a huge surprise since he basically what he did with Namwan also.

Acting was great. Just wish the story was told better.

Boring Bromance?

Oh, this had so much potential, and I was so ready to eat it up in heaps. And to start, it was serving in all the areas it had promised. It felt a little dangerous and the ebbing enemies to lovers trope had everyone pining for the romance.

It starts strong and then almost halfway through, it loses its footing and spends several episodes not really telling anything close to danger or even romance.

Moreover, Perth is a powerhouse and Chimon felt stiff in romantic scenes.

The finale was also underwhelming.

Not Fourever, maybe Twoever?

As someone who started watching this with a lot of hope and interest for Pond / Earth being paired together, I have to say I was truly disappointed with their half of the story as Hill/Ter. It felt very one dimensional and kind of cheap? The acting, especially from Earth, felt annoying at points. It was just too immature and kiddish feeling for me. And I think it was this sore point that didn't allow me to fully enjoy Pond's story / character either. Both of them are great actors, but I just feel like these roles were not challenging enough for them. I encourage Earth to tackle more mature scripts in the future, something that's a little more on brand with his age and level of acting.

I almost stopped watching this series, but to tell you the truth, North (Bas) was the single character that kept me going. I loved his humor and cuteness, which felt real and not overdone. And because of him, I was able to really love his and Johan's story. I think that Bas and Maxky were great together, their chemistry was palpable and I honestly just needed so much more of them.

Idk if we'll ever get another series with those two together, but I'm already sat for it if it is a possibility.

Pond's next series looks so much better fitted for him.

And again, I hope Earth one day ditches the school roles and does something different.

Some heart, not enough killers.

Wasn't really sure if I was going to watch this at all, but ended up sticking around because Style (Dunk) in those crop tops!! Style really was the cherry on top for me as a whole actually. I don't think I've ever really been a huge fan of his acting, but he did so good in this series.

Overall, I felt like this series was a little all over the place. It kind of had the same effect on me as Dangerous Romance. I was expecting a little more on the hired killers side of things, and I wanted it to be be a little darker. But it instead it felt a little cheap at points.

Also the tattoos on Kant (First) were.... not great. I tried to overlook them but ultimately couldn't.

The finale...just didn't do it for me. I didn't like the last minute drama tbh, I ended up forwarding through it. But glad both pairings got their happy endings.

A canvas that required more details

I'll start off with saying that I am so happy we were able to get a proper release of this after we all had that scare with it being up and then removed.

This story had potential to be great, but I think the series as a whole struggled to feel cohesive. I also think they wanted to tell too many stories and lacked focus and/or resources to pull it off well. The ending felt very rushed and even though there were bits at the end suggesting that they reunited eventually, I still wasn't really a fan of it. It just left me with so many more questions.

One thing can't be overlooked, and that was the cast. I think they did amazing and really brought these characters to life. I just wish the story had been told better to really do them justice.

Refreshing!!!

This series really did something innovative in the land of Thai BLs and it is a welcomed refresher as a whole. Initially after watching eps 1 & 2, you'd think that every episode would be a new adventure entirely. But then 3 & 4 come and it starts to tie together slowly. (And maybe you're half destroyed with tears in your eyes like me with the end of ep 4.) Then the last episodes in particular, are like a series within a series. To me, it was great and I honestly could watch 10+ more episodes. (Maybe we can look forward to a special episode at least?)

And not only was the series refreshing, but the actors were just as equally refreshing and wonderful to watch. I felt like they were able to carry these different stories with the different complexities and emotions very well. The chemistry between them was incredible and I truly hope it's not the last we see of them together.

Probably one of my favorite series of the whole year.

Better than the series?

What's special about this 'special episode' is that it somehow was better than the whole series? It's short and sweet, a snippet of another parallel. Noeul with the glasses was cute. Boss with the ponytail is reminiscent of LITA days, but I also loved the sharp tongued version of Cir as well.

Anyways, if you're hesitating on watching (like I was), I'd say watch it.

Boyyyyyy What?????

I'll surmise this review by simply pleading with the gods to free BossNoeul from Mame.

I'm actually starting to believe that Love in The Air was a fluke, because every other release with her at the helm has disappointed me so much.

Pros:
- Boss' acting is so so lovely to watch. Loved seeing the expanded emotions from him that we didn't get to see in LITA.
- The NC scenes are always on fire, as expected from BN.
- Loved Wim & Jin.

Cons:
- Noeul's acting really seemed to be... I don't want to say bad, but I guess it doesn't keep speed with Boss'. Overall, I think maybe I need Noeul to step away from these kinds of overtly innocent / cute characters. Even his crying scenes bothered me and I tried to look beyond it but couldn't.
- This storyline needed so much more time to flesh out and make it WORTH the time to watch. It was trying to tell this huge massive story, but somehow it ended up falling flat with a lot of leftover questions about what everything means.
- Shouldn't need to read the book to understand the show.

Overall this series left me feeling really disappointed as a whole. We waited so so so so long to get our BN back on screen and it makes it all feel a little worse that it didn't seem to deliver. Again, I think them being under the reigns of MMY and Mame are to blame honestly.

Not so promising

It's funny because after I watched the first few episodes of this show, I was thoroughly excited and honestly had it in my 'could be a fav of 2023' category. However, this feeling didn't last long, as the initial promising feel of this was quickly replaced with irritation and disappointment overall.

#1 complaint is that this story was so drawn out, but things are never really resolved satisfactorily enough for you to really appreciate the four minutes they're actually together. We spend the majority of these ten episodes going through the struggle of one-sided love. For a large percentage of that time, you come to completely dislike Phu. And there's not really a resolve there to make it worth all the pain. It's quickly swept up under a rug and it makes Nan look like an idiot imo.

#2 complaint is the fact that the production company for this series liked to keep postponing things for absolutely no reason. First half of eps came out and then we had to wait a month for the second half. And not only that, but there were a few times where a day before the episode was going to be released, it was suddenly announced we'd have to wait another week. There were several times I almost didn't come back to finish this series out, but the curiosity of 'does it ever redeem itself' kept me in its grasp.

Sadly, it never got better.

Idk about you, but my heart was indeed stolen!

Jack & Joker has delivered what will be one of my favorite series of the year.

There's so much heart in this story, that I think anyone could really fall in love with it. This is a tremendous effort from the hands of Yinwar, and you can feel just how much time and passion went into it. Not only did they deliver this to us, the fans, but they also managed to tell a wonderful, unique, and FUN story.

Not only was it Yinwar, but it was all of the other actors and their characters. For example, Jack's grandma was really just the perfect icing on the cake for this series. I love her like my own.

They 100% deserve the success and accolades that this series will bring them. I hope this project helps propel and open doors for any future works they have up their sleeve. Anything from them will be fully welcomed with open arms.

More like: Wilting Campus

As a loyal Strongberry enjoyer, Blossom Campus was both well looked forward to and also a serious disappointment.

This honestly felt like middle school fanfiction that was undercooked and abandoned without a proper ending. I'm not sure what the entire plot was trying to tell? I left the series with way more questions than anything.

Pros:
- Lead actors had good chemistry
- ??

Cons:
- No extras whatsoever and it was very noticeable and distracting
- Random love rival who looked wayyyy older and was seriously annoying
- Conversation relating falling in love with your friend to falling in love with your cousin?
- No point to the story
- Also DO NOT throw in BTS content behind an episode, I hate that so much. (Last 10+ mins of ep 6 was wasted with this)

Overall:
I'd say skip this one. I gave it 6.5 overall simply because I think the actors did the best they could with what they were given.

Disappointing...

While the story as a whole wasn't awful, the acting / chemistry was truly subpar in a painful and distracting way. It felt like acting, but in the worst kind of way. Doha (Hamin) especially was excruciating to watch.

If you want to pass the time and want to watch something moderately cute without any true heart staining moments that last long after the series is over, give it a try. Otherwise, maybe skip over this one.

The last image is a little blurry

Last Twilight spent it's time crafting a very beautiful story that captivated us flawlessly, for at least 10 episodes. But something went awry by episode 11 and the finale was underwhelming as a whole for me, because the final message delivered didn't really seem to respect the story it was telling. This trip up at the end is super disappointing to me because if they had stayed true to the story (at least the one I was hearing), this series was set to join my list of all time favorites.

Biggest Plus - Sea's acting as a whole. He's a powerhouse and he delivers again and again. The way he believably portrayed the vision loss and eventual blindness was executed perfectly. There was never a moment that I felt he wavered and it is because of his wonderful acting, that we were able to fall so in love with Day. Also, Jimmy's acting was amazing and he kept pace with Sea as well. The power they command together is wonderful, onscreen and offscreen.

Biggest Minus - Day breaking up with Mhok in episode 11, when he (Mhok) deserved an actual conversation about their future. I don't really like the narrative of Day doing it to not hold Mhok back or him not wanting Mhok to pity him. I never felt pity from Mhok, only care and genuine concern. Day also needed to remember that Mhok had lost his entire family, his sister even more tragically. I just think Day owed Mhok more understanding in that moment, and they needed a conversation. Furthermore, I am never a fan of time jumps. I hate them pretty much anytime I see them. And also, this seems to be a controversial topic, but I just don't think Day getting his vision back should've been the final selling point of this series. It feels a little unrealistic to me, and it just kind of takes away a lot of the beautiful storytelling and messaging that was told for the first 10 episodes.

Biggest Takeaways - JimmySea continue to be one of the best pairings GMM has. I enjoy the fact that they stray away from typical stories and tackle the more complicated. They put their all in everything they do and it is felt on the other side of the screen. The Last Twilight will continue to be one of the better releases from GMM in 2023/2024 and despite the trip ups at the end, it is worth a watch.

Seeing Double (in anger)

Twins, on paper, sounds very interesting. Twins, on the screen, failed to deliver big time. The story is so convoluted, wasting large amounts of time for no reason, with little to NO resolve by the end.

Biggest Plus - Great acting. Esp for the Zee / Sprite actor. He pulled off the different personalities very well. I loved Sprite and wanted to shove Zee's head into the toilet a majority of the time. I commend him for sinking his acting chops into this worthless piece of script writing and giving it his full effort.

Biggest Negative - We call it Twins, give them this weird storyline and a not so clear wrench between them. We spend 11 episodes absolutely hating Zee and by ep 12, he smiles a little and all is forgiven? Same thing for First, he's lied to by Sprite for 11 episodes and get a half assed explanation in ep 12. It was just too much of all the wrong things for me.

Takeaways - Get these boys in another series because they're great and definitely deserve a lot better.

WHY?

I think overall, this one faulters in comparison to the Thai version. This one had the potential, but it tripped over itself in the process. The source material was 13 eps that were 50ish minutes each. This one is 8 eps of 25ish minutes. That's a huge cut and not that it's impossible to deliver, but it makes it that much harder. There's less time to tell this reimagined story and I think that's the biggest issue. So we stumbled from episode to episode, unnecessary scenes are dragged out, necessary scenes are missing completely, etc. And then we find ourselves at the last 2 eps and it felt sloppily put together.

There were funny moments and the actors did their jobs well. I think if you watch this without comparing, you might enjoy it vastly more. But with the comparison, it does fall short and is the reason for my low score.

Also, just an added note.... the 'previous episode' time in the beginning of every episode was so long and it was annoying? You have a 26 minute final episode and 5 minutes of it is the previous episode rundown? Tbh, we needed those 5 minutes to tell a better story.
