They really should made the village part of a long memory, with the show hooking audiences starting off in the future that has EPIC wars and action then flashback to explore the beginning all the village, romance and slow build episodes.

Not saying the war and action should take 1-2 episodes before village flashback, half an episode to 1st episode alone would've sufficed.
