Circle of Sound

This program gathers 12 outstanding singers from across Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, each representing different generations of the Chinese music scene, as permanent cast members. They perform beloved Chinese hits from various eras, competing in two large teams through themed performance rounds. Each round also welcomes original artists of the featured classics as special guest performers, bringing their iconic songs back to life on stage. Unlike traditional competitions, the show has no eliminations. Instead, live audiences vote for their favourite performances, which are then added to the programme’s “Era Records” to drive the show forward. By dividing a century of Chinese music history and everyday life into different thematic chapters, the series showcases the unique qualities of Chinese music, generational shifts, social changes, and cultural heritage.
